In the course of one of our Friday Night vid chats*, I mentioned that I thought a bloghop based on video Posts might be fun. As Readers know, I use video for maybe one Post every 10 days to 2 weeks, mostly as a way to give myself a day off from type-type, typing these here Post’s here. Well,… a lively discussion ensued. I recall (or choose to recall), that everyone thought it was a great idea, but there was a wide range of opinion as to how (a video Post) should be presented, in a video blog hop. We all agreed that they (the individual vid Posts of participating bloggers) would need to be short. All of us who have worked in this medium (lol “…look at the giant beret on Brad!”), have learned that attention span is more than fleeting and no one, among the participants, believed that anything more than 3 minutes wouldn’t be a waste of ‘film’.
In fact, most of the ‘fun’ of the discussion (of length) focused on how short the video should be… the primary advocates of very short vids, were, I believe Kristi and Starr. I got a sense of agreement with my position, ( i.e. ‘short is good, but long(er) is not bad’), from zoe and Tamara and Christine. Lizzi was reserving judgement as would any good co-host.
So here is my contribution to the First Annual Wakefield Doctrine bloghop, ‘the View idiotic’. Astute Readers and experienced blog-hoppers will notice that I don’t seem to have any mechanism for anyone (else) to participate in this ‘hop. Anyone with experience in such matters, who would care to make suggestion, I welcome any input. (I did try…sorta, the linky app that Lizzi uses, but got the impression it is designed exclusively for blogger blogs…could be wrong.)
The really important feedback is, ‘is there anything to this idea that is appealing enough to cause people to do a vid post and send it in?’
Doctrine Tip: we all live in one of three characteristic personal realities, aka worldview. And it is because we are in a reality that has a certain characteristic (that of the Outsider, the Predator or the Herd Member) from a very early age and have to develop coping strategies and ways of negotiating life that is geared to the characteristics (of the worldview we are in) that we have ‘personality types’ that we call being a clark or a scott or a roger. Here: if I grew up in the worldview of a Predator then I would most likely not be typing this Post… I would be out there eating/defecating/reproducing or… back here sleeping, simply because the challenges presented by the worldview of the Predator (a scott) required action, aggressiveness, minimal reflection on the subjective… scotts act! same for clarks and rogers we (the three personality types) represent the best effort to cope with the world that we find ourselves in… not perfect not inappropriate, just the best based on the conditions we face. ¿comprende?

no, I think that, if you were to upload a vid to ‘the youtube’ then you could send the link and I would out it in the Post, but reading (that) I realize that this is so not the proper bloghop format… I trust some one will help out

That is how it is supposed to work (bloghops)… so yes, but the failing at this point is mine, in that I do not (on today’s Post) have a link capability as does Lizzi and Jen Kehl and Janine

Sounds fun! When my life is more normal (the beginning of the semester is always insanity with a cherry on top) perhaps I’ll participate in one. :)
In the meantime: had a class FULL of rogers last night. *giggle*
And second: is it possible, really possible, to move from one predominant worldview to another? As in…sometimes I wonder if that scottian side of me is one day going to take over…but probably not. Haha. I’ve had to activate Señorita Scott more than a few times lately, and I think that surprises people sometimes, lol.

Although the end-product may seem the same, fully developing (one’s) secondary or tertiary aspects, results in what might be thought to be the same thing…I don’t believe it is…quite…the same (metaphysics?? we don’ need no steenkin metaphyseecs)
* yeah, 1/2 written…the topic/idea is the hard part…the ‘other 478 words’ are me writing my way out.

You can just do a text inlinkz for free. It’s what I did. Though the paid version lets you have the pretty avatars. :)

I for one like the idea of vid posts. In fact, I will “pledge” one as soon as I buy my new phone! In the immediate future. As in, soon. I agree that the challenge is length. How to incorporate a thought, point, message, whatever in 3 minutes or less. I liken it to poetry.
I love the term “vidiotic”.
I’ll see what I can do with the challenge. “a video that portrays the you that you really believe you are!” in three minutes or less? That’s not easy!

(you will have to believe, cause it’s so much more fun to) that I did not ‘recall’ that I used the Depp photo that I did in the top of the Post… I just wanted to find a vid of people walking into the distance (sort of) and naturally Depp is the first person I would cast as me lol
right, well I think that next time you might want to check the movie out first because Polanski is so, oh, I don’t know…really icky? Directors do count. :)
actually was a good movie …nice job with the ‘atmosphere’ and there are a couple of tricks (in the movie) that I enjoyed (that I think came from or to Tarentino)
OK. I believe you. He did do a great job with Rosemary’s baby.
And (did you know that “And” and “But” are now accepted ways to begin sentences?) Tarantino can be pretty entertaining if you can get over the fact that he is so insecure and so terribly horrified by this insecurity. He needs to deal with it! I love Pulp Fiction and both the Kill Bills.
I could discuss movies all day, And fortunately have a son who loves them as much as I do. Movies and music! YAY!!!
