Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Due to an excess of frozen water in my geo-location, my internet access is limited. I am trying this first section (of this Post) from my phone. Not going so well, but you know how clarks welcome a challenge, right?
Well they do! clarks welcome a challenge the way that scotts love: attention, loud noise, stiletto heels, music with a strong beat, making fun of pompous people, dinner in a fine restaurant, the moment of surrender from the valiantly resisting roger, stock car races, bubble baths, fights and competition; clarks welcome a Challenge in exactly the same way that rogers feel satisfaction from: being exact, engaging in a long conversation, assembling the complicated device (with instructions push-pinned to the wall), learning that there are undiscovered branches to the family tree, starting a fight with an opponent who never realizes that there is a fight, being right, proving someone wrong, being told they are happy and successful, knowing that the family centers on them (to one degree or another). You know, like that!
clarks welcome a Challenge (they do not love them as scotts love nor do they feel satisfaction as does our rogerian friends as we suggest in the polyptoton above…which leads us to the Saturday Night Drive last night!
Totally excellent Drive! In attendo: Denise, Cyndi, Molly (and yours truly). The topics ranged from learning a foreign language and it’s paralells to learning to apply the Wakefield Doctrine for fun and profit; vocation choices and clarks, the inference (of) possible gender differences as implied by the fact that when teaching is a chosen profession, clarklike females will gravitate to elementary education and clark males will hide among the ranks of graduate level teachers. We also touched on the question of the Garden of Eden and Eve as the Original clark…. (holy shit! I just sensed an inference from this last statement that had not occurred to me, or anyone else as far as I know, in terms of understanding clarks!!) Damn! No time today. But the input from Cyndi and Molly is very gratifying as it totally validates my personal beliefs that as more people become familiar with the Wakefield Doctrine, the more we learn of ways that it can be used to effect totally practical benefits!… more to follow.
Hey! Terrye, Janine, Jennifer…Emily, Rich…Melanie not that there is anything wrong with a conversation comprised entirely of clarks but we would really prefer that you call us next Saturday night.

Haha! I’m loving these Saturday night call-ins! I love all the different perspectives of all involved and it’s entirely fun getting to know people. :)
What’s that inference about Eve being the first clark?
Oh and will try to encourage more people to call. What fun! :D
@Cyndi
I totally agree with the ‘fun part’. Will look forward to a further discussion of the role (and inference) of Eve. There is an odd phenomenon being seen here (that is probably not all that unusual among the ‘writer types’ that we are meeting) in which whole perspectives are opening up within the Doctrine as a result of the increasing input. The fact of the (increasing perspectives) is not the cool part, the fact that this ‘new information’ remains consistent with the overall principles of the Doctrine, totally is.
“In the definition of a clark, one talks about the quest of knowledge being important. The knowledge of what the forbidden fruit offered in taste and opportunity would have been much more than a clark could have resisted.”
I quote from Rich Rumple’s comment in the preceding post (since you brought it up Cyndi lol) . clarks have a “compulsion” to understand and know things. “I can’t not do this because I have to know” is a line uttered by all clarks at some point in their lifetime. The “need to know” is pre-eminent with clarks. Often to our detriment. Which can lead to self destruction/sabotage and… to Eve who could not leave well enough alone.
Why? I appreciate Rich’s comment but still… what is it that makes Eve the clark, the original clark? Huh, guess I need to know more. LOL
