Color-Coded Content… How easy is this Wakefield Doctrine blog to read! (Pick up your font color assignment in that first blockquote, yo)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers )

hey guys!, welcome back to the Doctrine… some new stuff for ya  (  blue font?? hell no, you people are insiders now! )

hey ‘ssup

OK everyone, here’s the deal:

  • Totally, brand-new visitor here at the Wakefield Doctrine website?  Cool. All you have to do (for now) is read the stuff written in the comfortable and welcoming blue font. This is our gift to you.
  • FOTD (Friends of the Doctrine)? glad you are still with us, we can see that you are still ‘getting settled in’; you are familiar with the Doctrine and know your clarks, scotts and rogers. That’s great, but there is a lot to learn to get the most out of this, so take your time, explore different pages and areas and be sure to ask questions and let us know what you think.
    Red is your font color.
  • Everyone else (DownSprings and Progenitors): black font, no caps… get to work, this personality system is not going to take over the world on it’s own…. (well maybe it will)…

This is the main website for the Wakefield Doctrine. It is in the typical blog format, with Posts  (newest ones at the top) and there are ‘Pages’ listed that will lead to more in-depth information about this personality typing system. It helps to think of these Posts as ‘conversation’ about the Doctrine and the Pages as reference material, you can read one then the other or both, whichever you are most comfortable with and which is most fun.

Hey, guys  good news! Seeing a definite increase in the traffic from ‘the Facebook’.  More visitors every day and  we have people Commenting and requesting hats (for their damn heads). It’s your active interest here that is creating the environment that encourages people to visit our little website.  Of course, these new people are mostly clarks, but you all knew that that would happen, (lol). Hey Molly! everyone missed you Saturday night, but it seemed that the holidays are taking their traditional toll…Alx was in absentia as was glenn and roger…but there is always next Saturday.

What the hell?  good thing we have Molly and them ( Nell and Claire and Alexandra ), otherwise the new Readers would be wandering around through these pages…calling out for help and information…(listen: ” interesting idea but what the hell do you mean…?”  the sound of a confused new Reader).

*************

There is no mandatory approach to learning and/or using the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine, just get comfortable with the basic idea and everything else will follow on it’s own. The main thing is that this theory of personality, while unique and useful and all, is meant to be fun! So try this: all people are born with the potential to experience reality in one of three ways, as clarks or as scotts or rogers. At an early age we all settle into one (of these three) but we never completely lose the other two. If you know which of the three world(s) that the other person is living in, you will know how they will react/respond to most situations. Learn to recognise the three personality types. Know which you are and everything will follow from that.

Listen, we are looking to you newer folks to give us feedback on how this site is coming across to the totally new Reader. Anything at all, pages that don’t make sense, (ways of explaining) principles of the Doctrine that are confusing…we want to know. In this area, Molly has been particularly helpful and we are hoping to get feedback from Jasmine as well. But don’t let me make it seem like all work!  lol  Have fun, tell us about your experiences with the Wakefield Doctrine, in your own “real” world.

still getting the ‘I think I know what you are saying but….” damn don’t that give you the chills. but hey, we’re still here a couple of years later and 400 plus of these damn Posts, so we must be doing something right!

*************

Well, it looks like you are off to a good start with our little theory of personality! Don’t be shy with the questions, write us a Comment or ask one of the Progenitors or DownSprings or FOTDs. And remember, when you are thinking, “Is this person one of those rogers or are they a scott person?” just go ahead and try different views on the same person…do they use the personal pronoun a lot, are they rigid and self-aggrandizing…do they seem pushy or aggressive… the personality type will come through. And don’t worry when you try it on yourself.  you can’t ‘break it’  (the theory) and ‘getting it wrong’ won’t mess anything up. Most of all have fun, ’cause this Wakefield Doctrine is fun! When you find yourself in a situation in your life, in a couple of days, maybe next week or even next month and you find yourself thinking, “Man! what a roger he is!”  or “So, thats a clark”  laugh (to yourself) and know that you have a tool for understanding other people that most of your friends and family do not have.  ….and then get back here and tell us about it!!  lol

…hey, you know nothing says that you can’t tell your friends and family about this here Doctrine here! And, hell for that matter, figure out which one they are and let us know and we’ll get them a hat (for the heretofore  un-classified damn heads)… oh yeah recruit…recruit…and recruit  get them folks to come here and make a Comment.  The more people we have here, the better the writing and presentation should become.

alright, we’re doing pretty good, the year has been productive. (No! Saving the Year in Review for last week in December! Don’t want to waste perfectly good topics on you people! lol)

Thanks for visiting us!

see ya around campus…

…later yo

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Speaking of trying the doctrine on, it really does work. If you are unsure of a person, take one perspective and watch them through that lens for a while. If it doesn’t work, try a different one.

I personally am finding clarks the hardest to spot, as they seem to exhibit the other two traits more frequently than scotts or rogers.

I did this with my husband: When I first read through the doctrine, I marked him as a scott, because he is always on the go — often described as a ‘bull in a china shop’. But others said ‘he sounds more like a roger’. I tried that too… but it didn’t work at all… so that left one conclusion.
After that, I got him to read through things and he quickly marked himself as a clark, saying he has always been a thinker.

  2. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Good comment! It is always about looking at people through the ‘perspective’ of the three personality types.

What a fun challenge the Wakefield Doctrine is! We observe the people in our lives and try to see the world as they are seeing it… more precisely we watch their actions and their eyes and infer what they are seeing…

… and it is both fun and useful (to us).

  3. Downspring#1 says:

That is a very good way to “figure” someone…process of elimination. Tried and true.
clark on clark, eh? Must be quite interesting at your house! LOL
Have you identified you and your husband’s secondary and tertiary aspects?

  4. AKH says:

It’s damn hard for the scotts to try on the others. We’re perfectly content with ourselves. So why bother? Quite frankly, we don’t want to. But I must admit it is probably the most effective to “learn” the others. As the old adage goes actions speak louder than words. Except when you’re listening to/hearing a scott screaming. (I scream therefore I am)

  5. Molly Molly M. says:

Well, I find going scottian a whole lot easier than rogerian, and find many scottian traits in myself.

In public situations my hubby tends to be quite scott — he makes eye contact with nearly everyone and goes out of his way to meet people, but his interests (of the moment) are more rogerian — history and law. Of course, his reason for studying it is to understand it all (and how it should be), so he can explain it to others.

  6. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

    @Molly
…”and find many scottian traits in myself” there is definately a certain sympatico between clarks and scotts, albeit for 2 different reasons/2 opposed perspectives. To scotts we (clarks) are neither prey not predator….(at least not consistently) lol
    from the scottian perspective:
clarks tend to the passive when not engaged in something that (we) find worth our full attention, so it is easy to see the ears of the nearest scott perk up when we enter the area ( visual: the clark passes by the scott and their pack and though initially un-noticed the ears and the nose are up, nostrils flare, tail begins to twitch)
But since clarks do not go submissive when challenged by a scott, they (the scott) immediately becomes wary…the scott responds with normal ranking challenges….(visual: yawns hugely bearing teeth, more to the point with human scotts they make a joke and laugh loudly…bearing teeth (lol)

    from the clarklike perspective:
scotts are just not un-noticeable…they are loud and alive and in the here and now and active and implusive…everything that a clark is not…not surprisingly the attraction of opposites

    @AKH

hey tell ’em about the tail twitching and sympathetic muscles jumping…!!
Seriously, props to Ms AKH for advancing the understanding and appreciation of this thing of ours…not more than an hour ago…we were talking about the idea that we can infer the world that another person is experiencing totally through observation…I mentioned the idea that if 2 people were in a windowless room and one got dressed to go outside, words would not be necessary for the person staying behind to know what the weather was…or something like that in any event the cool thing was when I asked ‘KH what she experienced/felt when she observed another scott… observed to the extent of ‘seeing out of their eyes’… her answer most excellent… lets have her tell it… hey AKH tell us about the scotts… what you experience

  7. AKH says:

Hmmm… where to begin. Speaking from the scottian female aspect (reacting to a scottian male) there is an energy. Of course there is no mistaking the eyes. Intense. Darting back and forth, taking everything in, all the while wearing a grin that can’t be ignored. Limits are tested through a simple “ping pong game” conversation. Does one pull back? Admittedly I have to say, again speaking for myself, I do not. I will push it as far as I can.

Then there is the physical push and pull (pun? scotts? Ya think??!!!). Personal space is tested. Case in point: there is a manager where I work who is the epitome of a scottian male. One day while I was standing at the cash register he came in behind me to grab the drop box. As he was doing so he asked me if I had a problem with personal space (ha ha yeah right). Of course my answer was a laughing no. He said he just wanted to make sure because some people do. “Not me” I piped up with a big smile.

There is an unmistakable energy. The “tail-twitching” of the scottian female is not initially seen physically or overtly. She is more mindful. Playful. But, as would be expected, comes the body language. I should probably stop here.

    Questions anyone?

  8. AKH says:

I should clarify that the “game” does not happen with every scottian male that a scottian female runs into. There is obviously a degree of attraction.

  9. Molly Molly M. says:

So, while we are speaking of scotts… how do two male scotts act, when one is obviously dominate?

And, if you have two people, one obviously a scott and the second willing to do what ever the scott says, what is the second? Or is more info/observation needed?

  10. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

do you ( or have you had dogs ) ? lol To broaden this response to the second part (of your Comment), the answer is, as always, what do you observe?
The scott/scott will be as you no doubt already know, a pack will be formed the dominant and the second. Where this ranking becomes especially clear is when an outsider interacts with this pack, the dominant will be….well, dominant.
There is the possibility of a scott/clark and/or a scott/roger, interestingly, the scott/clark will tend to be more…amorphous in how the ranking is displayed when an outsider is involved…with a scott/roger much more routine…less shifting of roles (that you might observe in the scott/clark, if you are observant enough.)

  11. Molly Molly M. says:

I see more shift in rolls between my two dogs than I do these two people.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

then that would imply a scott/roger (if, in fact, one is a scott) if not, then it’s a whole new ballgame lol

  12. Molly Molly M. says:

That was my guess, but I wanted to double check. Thanks! :)

  13. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(smile) I’ll put a clark’s ‘guess’ up against 6 rogers with 5 calculators, 3 slide rule* operators, being supplied by newswires, encyclopediae, and 5 door-do-door public opinion/census takers …any day of the week.

one of the benefits of the endless curiosity of clarks is that it all feeds (whatever it is that gives us) the intuition thing…very strong in we-like-people.
