Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Doctrine’s contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. This, being a grat blog ‘with a difference’, makes valid pretty much any citation (of gratitude) i.e. Lat v. creacioun (see grat #8 below). Fifty years after the dream of a bloghop open to all of content intent became an idea, we have a bloghop that is the envy of the blogosphere.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    #8: absolutely, yeah for etymology, and the incalculable amount of fantastic obsolete words in Old English — it is a treasure trove (for those interested in such things).

    Quite valid for us.

    The Oxford Dictionary of the English Language used to have a page where you could adopt an old word and promise to use it and bring it back from near extinction.

    A new yard project is gonna be fun! Can’t wait to see! Also, it’s always fun to see Phyllis. Hi, Phyllis! 👋 And lastly, I am always thankful for the Doctrine. I’ve had a slew of busy weekends, but I can’t wait to call in: I have a friend that I’m pretty sure is a Roger, cuz he sure a’int a clark and he’s not a Scott. Process of elimination. 😂 But an interesting study in Doctrine specifics.
