Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
1) I’m grateful to have work, actually a business, but you know what I mean, that allows me to spend time driving in my car (which is an item a bit further down on this here List here)
2) This week I was driving through North Stonington Ct heading towards Griswold and one of my favorite houses (the creepy old house with the walkup attic, the rickety cellar stairs and the occasional feral cat waiting to surprise me) and as I approached the intersection of Rt201 and Rt165 I noticed some black and white shapes in the field to my left (1st photo). Naturally my first thought was, ‘Weekly cows!’ but as I got closer and closer, what I saw forced me to pull the car to the side of the road.
3) Happy to have a couple of cameras in the car. I used the phone, stopped and zoomed in, the result:
4) yeah, I know! what.the.hell I got the pictures and continued on my way to the creepy house that I had to check up on, (there was some repair work that was supposed to have been done). (hey! seeing how this is turning into Photo Phriday/Pitcha Saturday, lets see if I can find a photo of that too!)
classic Old house attic, non?
in case this is not charming enough, then for reference, the house:
5) ok enough for the ‘work Thankfuls!’ (oh, sorry… #5: I am grateful that I have other items on my TToT list this week.)
6) the pre- ‘We-are-Free’ April Blog Challenge lead up work. I’m thankful for Z and Kristi, Val and (even) Dyanne who are all planing on doing the 30 day post-a-thon. I’m trying to get in the spirit of the thing, but I have a rather weak tertiary rogerian aspect, so I have yet to do a number of the things that the more experienced bloggers are doing, i.e. Theme reveals… changing their blog theme to match the theme of their planned posts, having plastic surgery in order to look like a famous historical blogger!*
7) Lizzi and Denise and the others for their Post-Topics disguised as simple Comments! Thanks guys, will totally be getting back to the question of ‘clarks and the world’, and ‘the diminution of the rogerian expression at the onset of advancing age’.
8) SVG (that new one… still don’t have her name, but the whole 7 Guard Virgins are stepping lively since she arrived on the scene!) I want to give a shout-out to our Friendita Cynderita, as she was the prescient life form who first mentioned these …. people.
9) For you newer Participants… there is a book (check with Z/I and L, each have 1 of the 4 remaining copies of) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules), which is one of the the things about this here bloghop that sets us totally apart from the rest of the ‘sphere (well, that and the…. uniquely talented co-hostinae…. they are the ones that you should go to first, when the authorities come around and demand an explanation!)

* well, yes, I did make that part up… I doubt any of the rogers at ‘Avarice and Zenaphobia’ Monthly Challenge are having any significant plastic surgery performed, unless it would really make them the envy of the other bloggers.
FRIST!?
frist!
So I love the cows and actually did a lol …. I am looking forward to the a to z…
Whew–glad for the disclaimer! “Surgery” had me backing away.
I am amazed at your cow photo because, although I didn’t post it on my blog, I took a very similar shot at the tulip fields in Oregon last week! A tractor was pulling the cows (with people riding in them) around the flowers.
Finally, frist?
No, I guess Ivy beat me out.
but I like you enough that I will give it to you! frist!
Wow! I think that is pretty much unheard of–what a gracious woman you are! Tell you what, let’s be frist together!
Would that be a “FROINT”? you know, a joint-frist?
Definitely. FROINT. I think it’s in the SBOR/BOSR somewhere. . .
now don’t you go encouraging her!
lol… ok, I get the idea of a ride through the fields of a farm… but why cows? I mean, are the ridees that not familiar with farms and farm animals and such? ( Jack Palance, looking menacing in black as he ties his Hereford to the hitching post in front of the saloon)
LOL. Oh man…last day of work YESTERDAY! sooo thankful! First day of new work MONDAY! Soo…need a spring break. lol
Happy weekend. And it’s so cool that you like those quirky spaces/houses. Must be a clark thing, cuz John and I LIVE for funky houses. Been trying to finish a blog post about our current house before we sell it…
Congratification!! Out with the old and in with the…. old too! (old houses that still creak is the clark thing, a roger would have an old house that was redone (faithfully to the original, including employing carpenters who wore only overalls and wide brim hats and speak with a Pennsylvania accent (with a slight Bavarian lilt)…. their house would shine and, well be a museum piece! Like the creaky/creepy and/or slightly scary ones better.)
I’m relieved not to be FRIST this time. There’s nothing I like better than a spooky old house with creaky stairways and walk up attics. But really, Clark, (unless I misunderstood), you shouldn’t call yourself old. It’s just a number. You’re only as old as you feel, and your soul is about 35, so what’s the story about the diminution of Rogerian aspect? Does your secondary Scottian become more pronounced? Or does the Clark just take over? (Hey, that sounds like a dance – the Clark). I just thought of one for A – A is for Aging. How aging affects the personality theory. Unless, at a certain age, you forget what you’re talking about. Eh?
Val
the thing is, as worldviews go, clarks are kinda ‘old’ from the start. Mind you I’m not saying infirm or tired or anything like that… but (as I referenced) clarks do the Merlin thing and so, for us age is not a time of diminution (well physically maybe a little). glad you mentioned the soul age. There is a thing around here about ‘lock in age’ long story, very cool…you’ll like (the idea)
the effects of aging on worldview (or, perhaps on the manifestation of the characteristics of (a) worldview is a totally hot topic these day…. what was the question?
Coupla posts right up there….from Val’s comments.
You got there first…
Those little cows are hysterical – so glad you pulled over and snapped that shot. I actually love the creepy old attic. I love exploring new places and I think I would love going around into old houses. I love Stonington, CT – Hubby and I actually honeymooned in North Stonington because we didn’t have the money to *really* travel and it is only about three hours from us. I want to go back and do the CT wine tour one of these days.
yeah, although a little disconcerting when the parts (of the scene) came together, i.e. not a row of well-behavde cows
The SVG? What?!?!
Such a cool attic. I want to be in it.
a new GV, not certain who she is replacing (probably that Clara Bow looking one, you know they one that was always sneaking up on us)… haven’t gotten her name yet, though
Clark, now this is quite a photo post. I love the one of the row of horses and carts!
yeah… the things you can come across driving through the country in my reality (my favorites, to date, are the ‘hill cows’ from last week)
I love the attic. It’s a bit bigger than I’d like, but it would be my nest, if I could have it. And the cows are creepier than the house.
Val wrote you some postworthy material, as Denise said.
“Happy weekend”
Tchah! Convention is for rogers, and yet impoliteness sits ill with a clark…
I agree (of course!)
Ah, I’ve missed coming to visit with you, Clark. Look at you with all of the photos. Giving Kristi a run for her photo-taking money!
Those cows are awesome. And thank you for pulling over to take the last photo at least. :)
I’m going to attempt the a-z, too. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. I’m thinking I’m in big trouble.
Christine
“I’m thinking I’m in big trouble.”, said a scott who was genuinely worried…never!!! lol
hey! where are you on ‘the list’? I’ll stop by…hangout and met yer neighbors…. (ok, I won’t do anything to embarrass you… really, I won’t)
lol ‘fraid for me the ‘Apples and Astronauts’ Blog Challenge is simply going to be Wakefield Doctrine 28… 24… whatever times
DUDE WTF server maintenance? Anyway, glad to be back and able to comment (ah hem) (it was super short so yay your host which I think is mine as well). Those cows! They’re like ridable! Awesome!!! And the creepy house? We looked at a house recently (thinking maybe and may need to pick your real estate brain) and I asked Tucker what he’d want if we got a new house. His answer? Creepy and scary. Boo Yah.
Kristi
I am also of the opinion that a house should have some part which is discoverable only by young child…old houses, they do that very naturally, although it’s possible for modern houses to offer that as well. a secret place, that fits the ‘under 5 foot’ crowd.
