phfridae wapup -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘Friday, the most sought-after day of the workweek’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

we-still-dont-live-like-the-jetsons-but-heres-how-close-we-are

Hey, before I forget, tonight in a box at the bottom of this here Post here, I will paste in the link to the Friday Night Vidchat. Click on the link and provided you have downloaded the google hangout app, you will be on line with the Wakefield Doctrine and them. (Depending on who else stops in), you will have an enjoyable and interesting time, courtesy of 21st Century technology.

short, little post this morning. 1 request and 1 cool insight into the rogerian worldview.

  • I’m leaning towards doing the ‘3 to Bee Blog Challenge’ this coming April (April motto: ‘yeah, go ahead dream…she’ll forget you by Memorial Day‘*) and my theme will be the Wakefield Doctrine. The question I have, does anyone know of anything like a word generator that can produce random words, but allows one to enter the first letter?  (My second thought is that I need to approach the month as, ‘The ABCs of the Wakefield Doctrine’… which, if I’m successful will leave me with something useful at the end of the Blues Challenge…. your thoughts?
  • ok, so we all know that the Wakefield Doctrine provides a description of the three worldviews, (personal realities) of clarks, scotts and rogers… and (these descriptions) are accurate and detailed enough to permit us to …kinda scare people with our insight into their personal lifes  (true story: back in the beginning of my blogging, when I met someone online who I knew their worldview from chatting with them** I’d sometimes say things like, ‘I know what’s on the floor of your bedroom closet’  (this being a clarklike female) and I’d describe the clunky but oh-so-comfortable boots and the sensible but worn shoes for work… etc  and 9 times out of 10, they’d be all, ‘hold on! how can you know that‘  (eventually more reasonable people around me at the time, Denise and Molly, said, ‘uh, clark? maybe you might want to lay off on the ‘I know you’ thing until they get a little more comfortable with you and your Doctrine thingie…’  (lol  and yes, I did take their advice)   anyway… back to the rogerian worldview. While we know enough about the personal reality of our rogerian friends to identify other rogers, there is a level of understanding that we can only acquire by inference. A good example is ‘referential authority’.
(I just ran out of time. I’ll try to link to the post that initiated this insight and I’ll certainly try to carve out the time to add to this Post. Failing that, I guess you’ll just need to join us on the vidchat tonight.)

** well, yeah… it is possible to infer a person’s predominant worldview on the basis of the written word and/or chatting on line… just takes practice, yo

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Frist again. I need a life. No vidchat for me this evening. I know I can access it on my mobile device, however, Book Club meeting tonight and we’ll spare you the experience. One member’s husband calls our meetings “pot parties”. Have no idea where that came from but there will be wine.

How many clarks and scotts have had this happen: you tell a roger of a thing or a way to fix something. They ask you “how do you know”, “where did you find this out?” Then they proceed to not do what you told them will work, etc. Might be a week or a month later and the roger is telling YOU about this cool/effective way to (fill in the blank). Duh! (you’re thinkin’) didn’t I tell you that 5 weeks ago?!)

The source of information is really important for rogers. Yes, referential authority figures prominently in the rogerian worldview. If they can validate and substantiate, they’ll acknowledge.

There’s another not often discussed, yet interesting (to me anyway lol) facet to the rogerian worldview. The “making it their own”. Who hasn’t had the experience of a one on one conversation with a roger where you guys are talking – could be at work about work. You have this great idea for a new way to make something better. The roger is listening, gives you a lukewarm, “maybe” kind of reaction. A few days later you’re with that same roger at work only now in a little group, a herd. You were’nt really paying attention to the conversation until you hear the roger tell the others about this great idea for making work better etc and you realize it was what YOU told the roger only days before!
The amazing thing is they have no clue (or do they) that the idea they were just talking about (your idea) wasn’t originally theirs. And! If you put them on the spot and said “hey! I told you that very thing 2 days ago!”, they’ll look you in the eye, confused.

They are not a quickly understood people LOL

(I trust our friend, ClairePeek will not mind, but I’m cutting and pasting her Comment here, so that those of us who have had the pleasure of getting to know her (must be like a couple of years)… (Miz Peek?))

” hello there… long time no see! the fault is mine entirely, but I am glad that I stopped by this evening ;-) a lot has happened on the Wakefield Doctrine since I last visited and I have a lot of catching up to do; so how better to start by taking a little test. the results were interesting: I was declared a Scott, but for a Clark, nothing’s impossible and we are all aware that we are the three personalities with one being more dominant than the others as time flies… I had even pondered on the possibility that our personality type could change according to our environment.

Anyway, I am a Clark, but I believe that since my social situation has changed when I started working three years ago, I have adapted to my environment. Nonetheless, I have read about Scotts and here is what I agree can apply to my case… everything else, sorry, big nope ;-)

“scotts will not normally gather in packs […] scotts are, for all intents and purposes, solitary and will interact with groups without necessarily becoming a part of or a member of (that) group”
I noticed this everyday when I go on breaks at work, being in the group and yet outside at the same time. I take part, but I keep my mask on… oh wait, would that not be a Clark?

this is fun… I’ll try and come more often… in the meantime, take care friends of the doctrine

    Clairepeek :-)”

      Hi Ho! Miz Peek!

“…being in the group and yet outside at the same time” kinda says it all (about our people) non?

Great to ‘see’ you…. trust you and Jonas are well… much to talk about, your adventures and experiences the things we do here, we have a number of new faces, we have been totally blessed with meeting some people (clarks, sure but scotts and even rogers!*) who have contributed to this personality theory of ours…
      all in time

(one of the coolest developments has been the use of ‘identification among clarks’ very very promising and beneficial… more to follow)

again, good to see you again

      * yeah, I know
