‘one rainy S..s..Sunday, no need to sit up and read, it’s all taken care of!’ the Wakefield Doctrine (mostly) audio Post

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

All I could find was a reference to a re-release of what I believe was her one and only album, try this Link. If anyone ‘out there’ finds out more better information about Tia, let us know! (I’m thinkin clark, here!)
Hey! Jasmine!  Yo Steve!! You our resident musicians!  What you got on Tia Blake?

Today is shaping up to being one of those secret, transitional, thank-god-I-don’t-really-know-how-much-change-is-coming-soon, Sundays!
But, that is still a few minutes/hours/months away, for today sit back and try to relax! Today’s Post is the kind of Post where you don’t have to read and re-read the frickin thing in a last minute attempt to avoid feeling that you wasted 5 irreplaceable life-minutes reading something that sounded like it was going to pay-off at the end, only to be left scratching your head, muttering about ‘all icing and no cake’.

I do need to give you fair warning on the next video. What follows is a Video Post done yesterday and I will tell you up front that you will not be glad you listened to it.
At least if the result of our testing it out on our focus group-lette is any indication.
Last nights’ Saturday Night Drive was most excellent, challenging and had DS#1 and Molly in the dashboard, (Ms. AKH had the night off). We covered alot of ground, had fun but when I tried to explain the concept of ‘catching yourself cheating to lose‘ …not such a good response. But…. here it is, in it’s entirety the Directors Cut, totally un-abashed edition:

the Wakefield Doctrine: you know, it’s *your* worldview (personal reality)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

There is something wrong with your worldview when:

  • you go the extra mile for someone and they still look right through you when you talk to them
  • you ignore the annoying person and they seem to take that as an invitation to increase their levels of obnoxiousness
  • you try to reason with the person and they act like you are surrendering
  • you tell them to stop and they act like they didn’t hear you
  • …they not only act like they didn’t hear you, it is clear that they did not hear you
  • you set out in the morning sure of how you will not be a doormat and then lay down at the first door that is held open for you
  • you ask a simple question and before you can finish, they start quizzing you
  • you tell yourself not to be so self-conscious, and while you are doing that, everyone is looking at you
  • you kid around and they stop laughing and walk away, like they don’t care
  • you try to explain that there is a right way to do things and you forget that it is your boss you are talking to and they(!) seem to get mad
  • you get a little ahead and start to feel confident in your work and they you misspell 3 words in your email
  • you think that all you have to do is mind your own business, and they start picking on your friend
  • you follow the advice that you can see works for your co-workers and still you feel depressed at the end of the day
  • you know that it is all in your head and there is nothing wrong with you and still you look back at the day and cringe
  • you know that the embarrassing incident in the third grade was 10 years ago and still you feel your face get warm when you think of it
  • you know that being self-focused is a natural part of being a roger, but you still can’t see how to get out of your own way
  • you know that being impulsive is a natural part of being a scott, but you still can’t imagine sitting and thinking and thinking and…
  • you know that being an Outsider is a natural part of being a clark, but you can’t imagine the world any other way except, ‘out there’
  • you know that the Wakefield Doctrine ‘feels’ like it has something you can use, something that might make a difference

hey, we never said these Posts would make sense every day!

“…a rather odd way to start your day, wouldn’t you agree?” the Wakefield Doctrine

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Yesterday I read somewhere that the key to getting a good ‘google score’, (when writing an article or blog Post), was to have a Compelling Title, followed by keywords relating to … er personality types, and self-improvement and such ( Wakefield Doctrine!!). The writer  seemed quite sincere.  Which begs the question, was it the writer’s sincerity in wishing to help me or was the innate quality and value of their advice the reason I am bringing it up, today…at the beginning of a Post?

*

In any event, the thought expressed in today’s Post Title is one that I am sure most blog writers, many Readers-of-blog Posts and a certain percentage of the-personality-theory-creator-guys out there can identify with… and therein lies the problem. How can I deliberately and consciously set out to write a Post that most, if not all Readers will enjoy? By ‘enjoy’ I mean:

  • laugh out loud at the Shatner thing
  • smile at the Title of the Post
  • go back to a section and see if you read it correctly
  • feel bemused, amused, confused
  • decide that today’s was a good one, even if they overdo the bullet point thing
Followers of the Wakefield Doctrine blog, especially the clarks, are a step ahead of me already. You mutants are thinking, ‘here is where he is going to start to talk about the innate quality of attracting attention that scotts develop by virtue of living as predators (in a worldview that is characterized as a world of predator/prey) and then (he) will follow it with a discussion of how rogers are the genuinely popular writers, because they speak the language of the ‘herd’, their pleasing, rounded words lull the Reader into a sense of familiarity that is the hallmark of the herd reality.
You’re wrong.
I was thinking** that maybe this Wakefield Doctrine thing actually does ‘work’!
I mean here I am, facing that dreaded (for clarks) sense of being watched, worse it is the act of deliberately putting oneself in front of other people and demanding their attention. Like looking out from backstage, seeing the audience (one person or 300 people, doesn’t matter…what matters is which side of the curtain you are standing on) and walking out anyway. And despite the clarklike trait of knowing that everyone out there is about to recognise that I am bad, not good, wrong and different!
…and it’s kinda fun.  damn! what a Doctrine!

* Readers with good visualization and a good ‘ear for voices’ will find this funny… you know how people will use the phrase , ‘blah, blah, blah’ to comment when the speaker is getting predictable or boring or overly pedantic? Well DS#1 and I were discussing some arcane inference of a part of the Doctrine and I did a self-inflicted ‘blah, blah, blah’  except in my head I had James T Kirk in full over-acting-mode say the words ( you know, one arm crossed, the other extended, torso slightly bent over… tight-in focus on the face? “Blah….Blah Blah”

Technical! Tuesday(?) the Wakefield Doctrine….it’s not about the ‘what’, it’s about the ‘where’ *

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Here:

clarks think scotts act and rogers feel.

The Challenge: find a common ground for reconciling two totally disparate and non-relatable worldviews

The Obstacle: the worldview of clarks is characterized as being the reality of being the perpetual Outsider and, as such, clarks relate to the world on an intellectual/rational basis; the worldview of rogers is defined as a reality in which all is ultimately quantifiable, everything that is perceived is related and there exist abstract Rules that convey power and authority for the individual,  the ‘medium’ by which a roger manifests themselves is that of emotion/a non-rational expression of being.

Pre-preliminary, tentative conclusion:  an interaction between a clark and a roger would result in:

  • the clark stating: ‘I understand your words’  (the) roger responding, ‘that’s not what I meant’
  • the roger saying, ‘why would you think that?’ (the) clark ‘because that’s what you said’
  • the clark proceeds to doubt their own understanding of the interaction and (the) roger feels that nobody understands them

Readers who remember their school days (or are in their school days) recognize that the conventional format for instructional material is to start with the simple, then progress to the complex.  This is not to say that the Wakefield Doctrine blog is meant to be instructional material, at least not in the sense of being a text book, like say, Algebra I… ‘Africa! the Dark Continent’
Not at all.  However, since the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine are being called principles and  the simple fact that unless you are among the DownSprings and Friends of the Doctrine (“hey! S. write a damn Comment and get it over with, already!”) you are the only one among your friends and/or family who has even heard of the Wakefield Doctrine, we need to present the information in a way that you can easily understand.

Yeah, right…

They are telling me that the equine has long since passed on to greener pastures… you know, heaven? ( That reminds me of a statement from the Progenitor roger, years ago on the subject of dying and heaven and what was wrong with the world, he said. “The local Native Americans have a saying that when you die you go to live in the land of fat, slow flying birds.”)

One last Wakefield Doctrine Principle:

you know how most ‘know your personality type’ articles always have a test in it? There’s a quiz about your likes and dislikes and traits and such, after you take the test you add up your score and match it to a grid and it says, “Your are artistic and bright and everyone wants to be around you’ or ‘You are misunderstood, but have a gift for listening’ or even ‘You know what it correct but those around you mis-understand’ (this is the one you try to trick your gf or bf into taking).  Well, the Wakefield Doctrine? it is nothing like this at all.

Not even close.

So far away from the personality type systems and programs, that it’s not even funny!  in fact, the Wakefield Doctrine is simpler and more useful than any of those other quiz based things you might read. Only one thing. You gots to be able to imagine stuff that isn’t quite real. In a a nutshell:

the Wakefield Doctrine is focused on the personal reality of an individual, we say that everyone lives in one of three characteristic (personal) realities, worldviews we call them. The world of the Outsider (clarks) the world of the Predator (scotts) or the world of the Herd Member (rogers). All you need to do is learn the characteristics of each world, watch your spouse/friend/enemy/boss/child’s behavior and infer which of these three worldviews they are living in. Once you correctly identify it you will not only know more about that person than they know about themselves, you will be able to predict their reactions and responses to almost any situation.

That’s enough for today. Class dismissed!

* We just got finished explaining it to you, if you still don’t understand, maybe you should consider writing a comment. You know, ask us a question.

“That is quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen!” …Sunday Morning at the Wakefield Doctrine

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Great Drive/Call-in last night! DS#1, Ms. AKH and Molly called in and we had a spirited discussion focused on topics ranging from the role of the secondary aspect (relative to the predominant form) to the best strategy to employ when explaining the Wakefield Doctrine to a stranger on a train.

…now that we have cleared the room of:

  • anyone under the age of 31
  • anyone up this early on a Sunday who accidentally types in Wakefield Doctrine instead of ‘Hot Chicks and White Whine’
  • scotts
  • people from California and Tucson (really the same place when viewed from the East Coast), who were just about ready to weigh in with a Comment
  • the judges from the ‘Type Something/Anything and Pretend it is a Blog Post Contest’  (I don’t think we made it to the sem-eye Finals)
  • rogers, goaded by a clark, begrudgingly comes to the Doctrine saying (to the clark) “OK I really would like to see this site of yours, it sounds really cutting edge and original”
  • people who work third shift
  • clarks of the male persuasion, watching from the sidelines (i.e. from ‘the Facebook’) ready with their own Comparison Chart… get this far and click off…. now really pissed off
  • and finally, the person staying with this thing out of that perverse need to find out the punchline, a condition/quality, often found in clarks that when viewed in a positive light looks like ‘never give up until successful‘ but really is, ‘give up already!’

The Wakefield Doctrine is a unique approach to understanding the behavior of the people in our lives.
The Wakefield Doctrine is a very easy to learn approach to figuring out personality types in the people who matter to us, our spouses and friends, girlfriends and co-workers, boyfriends and classmates
The Wakefield Doctrine is a useful tool that you can use to change the things about yourself that you have always wanted to change but have not been able to change (or keep changed)

So, if you are still ‘here’, read…..learn….ask questions.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Come, clarks! you are not going to live forever and this is not a dress rehearsal for ‘tomorrow when it really matters’
Hey! scotts!  hate to tell you, but if you are still reading this, there is something wrong with you and no amount of shouting or singing, yelling or swearing will change it… stay with us, we will give you an edge
rogers… whatever   (tell you what, stay in the background until you see the ‘little  r trademark symbol’ on this thing of ours, then you will know that lots of people already know about it and like it and then you will know that it is safe to use and enjoy…. too bad, every herd needs someone to steer the herd…
