Quite the Saturday Night Drive, y’all
Steve, yo!! (who, regrettably misplaced the call-in number last night) Two words! tattoo ( 218-339-0422 access code 512103 ) left forearm should do…
1) Molly (nearly) re-started the conversation that she started in her Comments early this week, but we stopped to pick up an attractive inference and lost the momentum of that discussion
2) DS#1 announced that: a) she had lost the power of speech 2) her current favorite derogatory expression is to refer to un-seemly people as being morons ( she went to lengths to provide the current pronunciation: ‘more—Rons’ total emphasis on the ‘more’)
3) as we had the Progenitor roger in the dashboard, he was totally put on the spot to give us the inside scoop on how rogers perceive the reality-defying-concept of ‘quantification’ ( apparently it is something that happens to rogers after they wake up in the morning, but before they get out of bed! )
4) Molly maintained that when a member of a group of friends changes too much, there is created a state of emotional dissonance that invariably leads to a change in the make-up of that group
5) see citation 4 (above) come on! I don’t have to write out every damn thing, do I?
6) Molly (again!) described an experience that involved at least 3 of the following: a 6 member girlpack of teenage girls, hormone-induced mental instability, cafeteria food, ‘what boys want’, and/or hiding French Fries in one’s purse
7) a country located at the intersection of Central and Southeastern Europe, on the Lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea. Romania shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast and east, and Bulgaria to the south. (our wikipedian friends: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romania )
8) this is a recently created term meant to place-mark the concept of how reality is perceived by rogers (from entirely within their worldview)
9) a rather enjoyable (and clear example of the rogerian propensity for manipulating the language in service of their admittedly self-serving agendae) term that in this case, was used to connote the rogerian worldview characteristic of External Authority
10) one of the ways to tell if you are conversing with a clark (and you are a clark), there will be a high rate of interruptions and ending pauses at exactly the same time…. due to the conversational rhythms of (the two) clarks being the same
11) for all of the aggressiveness and directness of the scottian personality types, if a clark is pushed far enough, they will present a degree of Will that neither scotts (nor) rogers have the stomach to try and fight
12) … an odd, yet interesting (kind of oxymoronic phrase when used in reference to a clark, no? ) moment in last night’s conversation where the response (from a clark) to a classic rogerian aggression gambit was non-typical, funny and totally the result of the on-going effects of the Wakefield Doctrine
13) how sophisticated and insightful are the discussions found on these Saturday Night Drives? The initial observation, following a firsthand description of time-honored tradition of homeschooling, ” the real trouble is you can’t stay home sick” lol
14) the deliberate and increasing successful attempts of a clark to appear as a socially normal, emotionally healthy person
15)…what? what others?!? damn, I totally forget this reference
16) Molly using the metaphor of cattle, herds, dogs, rogers and makin ’em do things to a very useful effect. This cattle metaphor is becoming Molly own imprinteur and contribution to our understanding of the rogerian worldview very useful
17) one of the primary behavioral identifiers (and part of the Initial Behavioral Metaphors) of scotts is that they naturally will seek to establish ranking in a social environment. At your next party/social function, the person who never stops moving from person to person/group to group? theres a scott. And what that scott is doing (with each person he/she interacts with is ‘pushing them on the shoulder’ challenging the person to determine who is dominant and who is submissive.) cool

LOL You covered it…..for me one of the more interesting segments was the expression (attempt thereof?) of the difference between clarks and rogers and how each describes the manifestation of their individual perception of a common “reality”. Example? The start of each day – waking up. As a clark, I was not surprised at the difficulty Roger had with the notion that a clark can wake up with the “certainty” that the world is a thing “out there”. The rogerian version of what happens upon waking in the morning? The first thing a roger does is hope that life outside the front door (and inside that door) are the way they should be. Let’s just say “warm and fuzzy”. That life is/will be a reflection of the roger’s own ideals and values (of goodness and civility) and what it “should” be for anyone walking out their front door. Expectation, assumption of the way things (ideally) should be.
The other tintillating talking point was the multiple box theory. Makes perfect sense. rogers by nature are not good multitaskers. Their preference is full attention to one thing. Once a task has been completed to their satisfaction, they can move on to the next item. The order thing. Everything has to be in/ have order. To imagine doing more than one thing simultaneously for a roger would imply a lack of “order”. I can see how this makes sense to them. It is logical.
A special thanks to Molly! Having a bit of retarditis last night, it was a relief to know that should I need her to she is able to voice, validate and otherwise complete my thoughts as a fellow clark. Not that our illustrious host can’t and doesn’t do the same on occasion but sometimes it’s nice to know I have another woman’s support:)
As a clark with a secondary rogerian aspect, Molly was serving up Doctrine observations like, well, like a well cooked meal. ( lol if any rogerian women read this they will demand how (and by what authority) I can make such an outdated, sexist comment!) Dontcha just love the Doctrine:):)
“Gang of WD = as always, my distracted mind (juggling balls while typing) has me putting COMMENTS into hidden spots such as drawers and unworn coat pockets (ever hide stuff there?) So, excuse me while I kiss the sky and post these in comments, as directed by the director. Ha ha! Thats fresh! Will someone tell my spouse I CAN actually follow instruction? The week of hell or high water for me. Hope yours is a refreshing pace and as glorious as flash runner BOLT = that guy could outrun a horse ! Unreal stride. I digress . . . here are my ramblings, I WILL be with you Sat night this week now that I’m going to have the number etched into my flesh. On to my dos comments, amigos.”
Mr. C! (…getting warmer!! It might be best to refresh your browser… Ms. AKH is our Technically-Inclining-DownSpring, if you ask her, real nice like, about getting to the most recent of Posts* I betcha she might help you out.)
In any event, I am exercising editorial privilege and copying your last Comment to the current Post (which will remain the current Post for at least a day) so that the others will be able to pick up on the thread that you tied to the Tee Shirt Post.
you know what Lyle says
*if there was any doubt in your mind about being a roger, put your mind at ease… the maintaining older screens, including difficulty distinguishing the Past from the Present and such is so rogerian! I would suggest you ask the Progenitor roger, but he may not have recovered from his rather…. intense… encounter with 3 clarks this Saturday past… worth a shot
No need for recovery, Mr. P, no damage done. Very enjoyable, truth be told, and wish I hadn’t had to bail. Such is the nature of my work sometimes. But that call certainly goes into the ‘warm and fuzzy’ file ( or box…)
Agree… it was a most productive of Drives, Doctrinistically-speaking, of course. Your people had been consistently under-represented on the calls, having 2 rogers on one call was v enlightening. Will look forward to our-r-in-Texas making the call-in next Saturday, should be interesting.
