the Wakefield Doctrine ‘weekends are not just for rogers anymore!’ three personality types—2 days—can only mean trouble!

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers )

I only just realized that many of our Readers come here via their work/school based computers1 and therefore might miss our Saturday morning Post!  So to remedy that, a quick Friday becomes Saturday Post, just to get the pre-weekend off to a proper start. (the Doctrine? and weekends?  glad you asked!) The Three Personality Types and the Weekend:

  • clarks either dread the weekend or  fail to notice it
  • scotts simply change clothing
  • rogers totally revel in weekends! Saturday and Sunday? chores and ritual and gatherings of people, all on a timetable clearly laid out?  can you say “Heaven”?
Ok that takes care of how the three personality types see the weekends. (…why?  you want to know why they see weekends this way? jeez it’s totally obvious) The three personality types see the following in weekends:
  • clarks hope (and therefore) fear (and there…therefore) dread of the lack of their capacity to fulfill on the potential that they know they have to live up to the expectations of those who have spent the weekdays with them (the rogers and the scotts) even though they are fully aware of the fact that no one has expectations about or for or in any way regarding them… at all… except in their heads and in the final analysis where else is there?
  • scotts the weekend is license, it is a time when the necessary constraints of the civilized world are… loosened  (and) like the hero in the movies when they are tied up, always manage to work some ‘slack’ into their bounds and wriggle free and run  like little convict children for the nearest open space
  • rogers well, they are at a church  picnic on weekend, not necessarily literally  but definitely figuratively they see the work week as affirmation of the world as formed and governed by Rules and even though those people in the work week may not abide by the Rules (or even recognize them!) the weekends allow the rogers to create their own Rules… the Rules of Deserved Rest! and they revel in these Rules… for every bicycle race, every trip to the Supermarket, to every re-Enactment Event and even the announced-in-advanced spontaneous ballgame… there is order and Rules and predictability
Enough with the Weekend!
For us at the Wakefield Doctrine?  “all of the damn above, yo”  As a clark I get to work through most of the weekend with the option for a pretend-secret day off2 And, of course, we have the Saturday Night Drive!! Call in the number found somewhere on this page (or Post) (or blog, I don’t frickin know!3)
Rumor has it that Steve Crabtree might be calling in, his-own-speed-rapping-stream-of-consciousness-self!! I have sent an invite out to Friend of the Doctrine Jasmine Tea, (hoping she has the time off on Saturday to call in) and I heard from Jenny Radcliffe…she promises to send in her photo of her Doctrine Tee Shirt in front of the Cavern in Liverpool straightaway… in a fortnight (yes, I do pick up the local languages rather quickly)  but she is off on holiday ( …would love to be told that she and them are renting a cottage in the Isle of Wight!)
And the usual gang of DownSprings… (New Reader?? want a scary thought? ‘there are people in the world who, by virtue of understanding the Wakefield Doctrine, know more about you than you know about yourself! And you probably won’t know that they know, or that they are even there… except for the clarks… and maybe the scotts (definitely the scotts) at least you won’t recognize the rogers… well, you might! Just keep reading!)

1) some, not all… roger

2) possibly, but not required! lol

3) I say that just ’cause I know how much Ms. AKH loves to see it when I insist that you be required to make the gigantic effort of clicking to the page with the number on it

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

I’ll be working a double shift this Sat, so will likely be able to call in Sat night if no pending emergency.

  2. clark says:

so what one of you are implying is that there will be 2 rogers on the phone Saturday Night, is that what (one of) you are saying?

I have just one question (yeah right)

…now you have made me forget what I was going to say…and it really would have been good, too.

Let me get back to you later…

…now I remember!! but the other roger replied on the other Post… (the one with Willie on it) and DS#1 also made a telling Comment and left there… like a lunch bag in the referigerator in the lunchroom… when to take it…when does it expire?

anyway good to hear (that you might be phoning in the Saturday Night call) I would provide you with a pre-call briefing but you would would most likely hand me your whittlin knife to search for the TV remote to tune in to the Olympics 100 yard march in formation while being shot at Competition… lol

so I won’t… but even I would tune in to see an event like that!
