Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers )

‘those Posts’  in our Title  is a reference to a certain type of Post to be found among the 433 Posts extant of the Wakefield Doctrine blog. These Posts are characterized by a certain looseness of style, a more meandering approach to (a) narrative, a certain proclivity to putting down words just to see what will happen next. Fortunately this type of Post is relatively rare, examples include:  this one from December 2009  or this one  (it even refers to ‘one of those Posts’)

1)   The Doctrine has changed the world already. With the prompting of FOTD Molly, we submitted the term: ‘Face Eater’ to that most esteemed Internet resource, the Urban Dictionary! If you go there and search: face eater and you should find us as the second listing (for the term face eater) please ‘approve’ or ‘vote for’ or ‘like’ or whatever the fuck^a, they do at ‘the Urban Dictionary’ to increase the acceptance of a new definition.  You will know which is the Doctrine-approved definition, ’cause you’ll see ‘scottian seductress’ as a tag, and no one, except for you and the rest of us here at the Wakefield Doctrine  know what the hell the term scottian means.
2)   mental nausea,(noun) this is a term coined by (one of the Progenitors) years ago to refer to the mental state that is characterized by a low-grade ‘something is wrong’  or maybe it is more a sense of impending annoyance…nothing catastrophic enough to be cool or become the topic of  a well-meaning, caring-of-a-close-friend conversation  (” hey, you look like you need to talk…”). Nothing that exceptional, just a certainty of  “yuck” (mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually)
3)   Readership stats on the blog are slipping, but the number of ‘serious readers’ of the Wakefield Doctrine is way the hell up! The second part of this observation should be sufficient to make a mature blog writer smile…
4)   (Warning on this one! Simple, flat out, immature, I-can’t-believe-you-are-lining-up-electrons-for-something-as-whiny-as…) more and more control of content on the Internet is consolidating…into the hands of probable rogers…in particular photo images. It has been the practice of the Doctrine to use, borrow and temporarily place in a Post images and photos found in a google image search. Our rationale has been, ‘it’s not like we are making money using these or representing them as our property’  in any event in the last few months, more and more images are showing ‘watermarks’ which, for some reason make them useless to us… the future is appearing and it is PROPERTY OF …
5)   I was talking to S. (who works at his wife Laura’s  restaurant in the southern part of our local ‘State’ ) and he made a point about certain politico-cultural occurrences and made several ‘spot-on’ inferences based on the Wakefield Doctrine and relating to people he had a disscusion with to these demonstrations… it brought home the point that the Doctrine has (and will for the foreseeable) stayed out of the ‘current events business’. (Taking a cue from certain friends, we remain non-political and non-denominational…reserving the right to make fun of these aspects of world events, when we are in the mood.) In any event, Sean is quite adept at seeing the (demonstration) of clarklike, scottian and rogerian personality types in these cultural events, but at a price. My contention was that the cost of exposing oneself to the cultural barrage of excitement, stimulation and fear-mongering, far out-weighed the benefits. …at least at the present time. For now, go and buy an airplane ticket and fly to RI and then drive to Westerly RI and go to Fatti Mac’s and eat food there. Tell ’em the Doctrine sent ya!
6)   on that last last note…everyone should stop reading their newspapers and stop watching the news shouters on TV/Cable/smahtphone, you should not watch or otherwise expose yourself to any of the current events and/or news shows or even damn magazines.  We here at the Doctrine have long since cut off incidental exposure to this spirit-corroding, mind-itching, fear-instigating crap and look at us!!  lol  ( no,  really  look at us!!  over here…tell your friends to go to www.wherethehellhavetheReadersgone.com   ) Hey that came out as a link…(nearly free) Wakefield Doctrine hat (for the damn head of) anyone who goes to wherever this link leads and brings us back proof!!
7)  time to stop and find a song (don’t even get me started about the consolidation of the music-video supply available on ‘the internet’ )… remember to write us a damn Comment!
8)  pornography on ‘the Cable TV’… I will watch adults having sex on television (provided they are young and attractive)…I will tolerate double entendres  about size and health of a stranger’s sex drive and/or body parts… I am (personally) totally offended by a show called  ‘Man versus Food’ and any show that features (what I fear might be peculiar to our North American culture) ‘food eating contests’. I will resist any suggestion that I am lacking in a sense of humor or a sense of the absurd ( you are looking at my proof of that claim)  but the idea of a food eating contest is so patently offensive  that I just need to indulge my rogerian aspect and complain.
