like jewelry for the soul, this is the Wakefield Doctrine personality-enhancement program

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers).

You know how sometimes you see people acting a certain way, and you think to yourself (unless you are a scott*), “now why would someone feel it necessary to be so mean?”
…and how when you make a Comment while all the meanness is going on and everyone (not just the person being mean) turns and looks at you, as if you were the un-ruly one?
…and then, when you then say, ‘hey, didn’t mean anything by that, just thought someone should speak up”
even the victim of the abuse gives you some kind of accusing look?

Well, this is exactly what the Wakefield Doctrine is all about, the situation described above is familiar to many Readers and (two of the three personality types), so if you identify with any of the common situations described above, stick around, read some of the Pages in this blog. We think you might find something here of value to you in what, we here at the Wakefield Doctrine, call  “Life”.
But that is not the subject of today’s Post!

The subject of today’s Post is to say, “Hey! Don’t forget tomorrow is Friday!”**

* in which case, you would simply ‘do not stop at brain, go directly to SHOUT IT’

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

This doctrine is great keep it coming!
I have a question though, if you are trying to achieve a goal, let’s say make more money, should you try to pick a job that fits you’re personality type or should you try and be more like a scott (if you’re a clark). You only gave three examples of professions in the practical use of the doctrine part 2 post.
    thanks

    Good question.
(as a clark) I would say it is tempting to figure that (once understood) it is possible to suceed in a job that normally suits the scottian personality, say salesman or fighter pilot. Where we (clarks) often get into trouble is estimating how fundamental the (required) personality attributes acutally are, say, in the case of salesman, where agressiveness is very important.

What often happens (to a determined clark) is that we realize that we do not have the ‘natural’ aggressiveness that a scott does, so we look for ways within ourselves to ‘fake it’.
    And very often this works!
(But on closer examination, I think you will find the clark, in this example is stressing themselves to an extreme with the result being that they tap their scottian aspect*)

*Keep in mind that the Doctrine maintains that while we are all predominately one (of the three types) the potential to experience the world as either of the other never leaves us. Just hard to reach.

It would be interesting to see more examples of “typical” professions for clarks, scotts and rogers respectively.

As to the initial question, I think that the underlying desire for money, if it is great enough, goes a long way in helping a clark be successful in a scottian dominated profession if that is their choice. As to “faking it”. What may begin as a conscious effort to follow a script (sales) has the opportunity to become more natural. The more one behaves in a characteristically scottian manner then the more likely the body becomes accustomed to this behavior (and associated energy) and a clark is no longer faking scottian attributes but merely exhibiting what has always been underneath the surface….sleeping under a shade tree.

I rather like the title to this post….
