Tewesday -the Wakefield Doctrine- “To write or to wrong”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

One of the coolest things about the Wakefield Doctrine, vis á vis our writing posts, is how, since the start of this here blog here back in 2009, we’ve never been unable to write a post even when we didn’t feel like it.

If that makes any sense, ‘Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine, clark! …or scott or roger with more significant secondary clarklike aspect than does you any good anywhere but here’.

damn! someone’s been back to caffeinateria one too many times.

Speaking of the most advanced topic, let’s make this a quick little, ‘Did You Know?’ sorta post. (We have three Six Sentence Stories to translate into ‘real people’, aka the language of the other participants at Denise’s Six Sentence Story ‘hop.)

So you got your predominant worldview down, right?

(Think about the last time you had your eyes examined them. Sitting in the oddly-dentist-like chair, in a room with the lights off and on the far side of the room, the classic eye chart, all alphabet in shrinking fonts. The doctor (or, more formerly, the Optimist), puts this thing in front of your face, like those old 3D View Master things. “Which is clearer: this? or this” And they the switch lenseses while you try to memorize the letters so you can get the right answer and get the hell out of there.

Determining your predominant worldview is just like that. You learn about how all three ‘personality types’ relate themselves to the world around you. You go out into the world* and when you get a chance, you consider a person/place/thing through the lens of each and, switching back and forth, which ever ‘view’ is the clearest, that’s your predominant worldview.

Today’s post is not so much a ‘how to’ as a ‘what the hell?’

You (and every single person you know, could know and hope to know) lives in one of the three personal realities described in the Doctrine:

  1. the Outsider(clarks) the world is waiting each day, somewhere just beyond waking from dreams
  2. the Predator(scotts) the world is about being here and acting now
  3. the Herd Member(rogers) those bumper stickers? Life is Good? even if they feel like shit, seeing this on a car will make them smile knowing all is right with the world

Damn! Running out of time.

We’re all born with the potential to live in any of the three predominant worldviews. We grow up and develop in one, (and only one), of these three. We never lose the potential to experience the world as do ‘the other two’. Some of us have a greater secondary aspect than others. And, even, tertiary aspects. These are filigrees, temporary shifts in modality, not changes in our ‘realities’.

Example: we’re a clark** with a strong secondary scottian aspect***

So watch for the steps as your eyes adjust to the light in the ‘real’ world and let us know how you do today.

*hey! if that sounded right, the ‘out into the world’? Done! You’ve got your predominant worldview established. No, we won’t explain. No point wrecking the fun for ‘the other two’

** the institutional 3rd person, yo. If it takes a little thought, not to worry, it’s ok being a scott… yeah, a roger too

*** did you notice two things here? since-fricken-2009 and this post had a couple of spots where even we got lost… do you see us quitting?

lol

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one
