Monday -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Lemme paste a short, little RePrint post here. Kinda serves the function of stretching before exercise or having one of those dreams that are singularly repetitive and, should be boring enough to put the ‘dream you’ even further unconscious, were it not for the concept that ties it all together. Something so simple and fundamental that it should be obvious, but always one thought away from being expressed.

Remind us to talk tomorrow about the tri-interdependency of the three predominant worldviews.

(Pre-Notes: ‘Mu’ (in the title of the RePrint) is an allusion to the word in some zen koans. At least to the extent evident in the following postless post*)

Mu -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘the Weekend in (re)-View: there were encouraged smiles in Outerville’

BeFunky_photo-3.jpg

…I thought I had the ‘hook’ for today’s Post earlier this morning, around 6:10am. My computer froze up and the Error Message appeared:

Hit continue to ‘Force Quit’ the Application

damn!  doesn’t that describe what happens to clarks so often? (Especially on Mondays because we’ve just had two days during which time we could pick the people we were with), we learn and remember that part of what the Wakefield Doctrine offers is, as they so cleverly put it, ‘to self-improve oneself’. But this weekend was encouraging. A good TToT and a good Call-in discussion. So today, I will go out into the world (see, I told you I was a clark!) and know that there are other clarks struggling with the semi-self-imposed status of Outsider and, simply by virtue of this (identification with other clarks), I will more frequently remember to not forget that I have a choice in how I think and act and feel.

Had a great Saturday Night Call-in this weekend. Cynthia, Denise and the Progenitor roger! Topic: how do clarks best deal with the roger in the workplace (or to be a bit more accurate: how to manage a rogerian-dominated workplace). Very fun and informative and entertaining and everything you could want from a phone conversation.

So what do we clarks know now that we did not know, say, 3 or 4 years ago? For starters, that there is a direct (but not directly appreciable) benefit from associating with clarks in a context that encourages identification (with/for the other clarks). We also better understand our selfs and while this is not, in and of itself, a benefit, it is the sharing of this (increased) self-understanding that makes the identificationing with other clarks so effective.

But enough about clarks. how about scotts and rogers? What are they getting out of this thing that they could not get elsewhere? Again, for starters:

  • an increased sense of awareness of that which bothers scotts (on a pre-conscious level), with a better acceptance that it is not a flaw (this, by virtue of the scott’s heightened clarklike aspect)
  • (for the rogers) a sense of an increased-enthusiasm-for-nothing-that-is-identifiable, yet not perceived as threatening

Feet notes:

so: Denise and Cyn-thee-uh  and the Progenitor roger were all on the Wakefield Doctrine Saturday Night Call-in this Saturday past. It was a splendid time, the high points, syllabus-istically speaking the insight nodes were as follows:

topic: how do clarks manage (themselves or others) in the workplace  with an emphasis on the difficulties of dealing with rogerian co-workers

agreed: the negative, ‘lashing out’ of a roger is worse than being nipped by a scott or ignored by a clark

agreed: that the reason for this ‘over-reaction’ by the clark is their emotional investment (conscious or otherwise)

agree: the tendency is for clarks to take (false) responsibility for the actions, reactions and consequences involving others

agree: rogers (and scotts) think they know what it is it fear (the negative) reactions of others, but they are wrong

agree: rogers do not accept admission of ineptitude, no member of the Herd would ever consider this

Monday -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Writing something profound at four-thirty in the morning is like the daydreams of an adolescent, too easy, too quick and remarkably forgettable.

So let’s get ourselfs a RePrint. At least we know it’s durable.

But…but!! Before we do.

the Wakefield Doctrine is a(n) alternate perspective on the world around us and the people who make it up. As a ‘personality theory’ it has three (and only three) types:

  1. clarks (the Outsider)
  2. scotts (the Predator)
  3. rogers (the Herd Member)

We are, all of us, born with the potential of all three, however, settle into one and only one of these. We experience the world, better, our relationship with the world is of the nature of only one. We grow, as must we all, and develop the social strategies that are most effective, given the nature of the world. Out personal reality is that of one (the three predominant worldviews). We spend our early life developing the perfect personality, given the character of the reality in which we exist.

that’s just to not get too rusty… lets find something to read (and maybe a music vid to give Steely Dan a break*)

Monday the Wakefield Doctrine *three personality types, three benefits…three part series*

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

23140241_BG1

the Wakefield Doctrine is predicated on the idea that we all experience the world, to a certain but very significant extent, as a personal reality. These personal realities (referred to as ‘worldviews’) can be categorized as: the world of the Outsider, the world of the Predator and the world of the Herd. The Doctrine further maintains that everyone finds one (of these three) as their predominant worldview at a very early age and what many call personality types and traits are simply the aggregate of behavioral strategies that the individual develops as they mature, in other words, their personality type reflects their personal reality and not the other way around. Lastly, the Wakefield Doctrine holds that while everyone lives their life in one of the three worldviews, we all retain the potential inherent in the other two worldviews; in a sense ‘the other two’ represent the personality type we might have been. Unique in perspective, very productive in application and fun to apply in one’s day-to-day life. the Wakefield Doctrine offers the opportunity to ‘see the world as the other persona experiences it’ and by doing this successfully you will be a in a position to know the other person better than they know themselves.

Personality Type I:  ‘the Outsider’  clarks  the world is forever ‘out there’ (as opposed to here where they are), clarks are insatiably curious, doggedly persistent, fearful in the conduct of their lives and courageous in defense of friends and family and selfless to the point of self-destructive all in service to their attempts and efforts to find a place in the world around them. clarks think

Personality Type II: ‘the Predator’ scotts, action oriented believers that the only good action is the aggressive action, their world is a simple world of predator and prey, fight or flight,  eat or be eaten, scotts are quick to offer help, the first to act, un-shy to the point of promiscuity, mercurial in temperament and violence is within their nature, all without being vindictive, they are natural leaders of whom it may be said, ‘a scott is often wrong, but never uncertain. scotts act

Personality Type III: ‘the Herd Member’ rogers  live in a world of connectedness, they are naturally social and gregarious, they are judgmental and impartial, rogers live in a universe that is inherently quantifiable and there is a Right Way to Do Things, where scotts are the conquerors and clarks are the innovators, rogers are the civilizers. responsible for the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Library of Alexandria, rogers invented the Dewey Decimal system and yet, are the first to burn books. Without the rogerian influence, stable society would not exist in order to repress the individual spirit. rogers feel

Benefit 1: to know yourself (for clarks)

Benefit 2: to know the other person (for rogers)

Benefit 3: to gain the advantage through better understanding of the other person (for scotts)

be sure to join us for Part 2  sometime tomorrow!

TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Doctrine’s contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop.

This week the new season has displayed it’s credentials, albeit, still in a subtle, flash-of-the-gold-detective-badge kinda way. Some trees are showing small (but increasing) percentage of color control issues. Green losing commitment and letting orange, one of the true juvenile delinquents of the spectrum of shades and hues pretty much run riot.

For this week, we are grateful for the following people, places and things…

1) Una

2) Phyllis

3) The Wakefield Doctrine

4) the Six Sentence Story bloghop

5) yard work (actually, anticipation of impending yard work.) the grass and lawn type work is all set for the season. Now it’s a matter of some tree removal. Single or so trees, not large-scale hire someone work. The fun, (in this), is the significant alteration of the world that usually results. We have one tree in mind. Will try to get a photo before posting.

6) technology, of course. While the abuses and annoyances that accompany the …. (we almost typed: ‘conveniences’) but the impact of tech in the last 20 years isn’t hasn’t merely made life easier. It has expanded the world for individual. The blogosphere in which is post is being….err. posted, is the perfect example. Writing stuff to share with friends from any and all parts of the planet. People I would have simply never have encountered were it not for the internet.

7) (historical Grat) road trips that started in Salt Lake City (photo above)

8) something, something

9) Open Book Essay Item for extra credit for any Readers desiring a brief dalliance with the word-slingers at the TToT

10) Secret Rule 1.3

Teuesday -the Wakefield Doctrine- “…there’s a reason clarks are drawn to the second day of the traditional workweek, ya know”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

I sing the Doctrine Electric

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers).

Another Saturday Night…gas tank on full..dashboard active…Wakefield…………  damn!  this Doctrine is fun!

In attendance this Saturday: glenn (riding shotgun);  Ms AKH ( dans le tableau de bord) and Progenitor roger with a first for this new world of auto-conversation… he made the first ‘call-in’ (while we were already en conversacione).

The weather was fairly inclement, we kept to the route.

But that’s not important now… however, we will be informing you how to participate in our new “Ask a DownSpring”  semi-live webcast-ette.  But for now lets talk about the reason we are at this here blog here.

  • the Wakefield Doctrine is a way of looking at the world, but mostly looking at the people in that world
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that there are 3 characteristic ways that all people experience the world around them
  • the Wakefield Doctrine refers to these three ways as living life as clarks, as scotts or as rogers
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains everything we do and everything we are arises from this view
  • The Wakefield Doctrine offers one type (clark or scott or roger) the opportunity to see the world as the other two (clark or scott or roger) experience it.
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that we start out life with the potential of all three, but pick one and try to forget about the other two.
  • the Wakefield Doctrine believes that personality type is nothing more than appropriate behavior, that it is the world that is different (in one of three ways) not an individual’s selection of traits and responses and inclinations.
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that clarks view the world as an outsider does, that they are apart from everyone else and that everything around them is not supportive, to the point of being inimical
  • the Wakefield Doctrine suggests that all people are capable of going beyond their chosen way of viewing the world ( clarks, scotts and rogers) and adding to their abilities to cope with the challenges of life.
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that scotts see the world as a predator does, to be on the alert for threats from greater predators and to be on the alert for prey comprises most of their day to day lives
  • the Wakefield Doctrine suggests that by identifying with the way that the ‘other person’ experiences the world we enhance our own lives
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that rogers are the ones that experience the world (and life) as a member of, a part of, an aspect of a world comprised of relationships
  • the Wakefield Doctrine offers everyone the opportunity to understand why the people in our lives behave the way that they do
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that if a person can accept the fact that the other person is literally living in a (slightly) different world then conflict is eliminated
  • the Wakefield Doctrine offers everyone the chance to be more, to live fuller lives, to understand others, to not be confounded by the actions of others, to not be a victim of the behavior of others.
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers maintains that when it comes to living with others, we pretty much got it covered
  • the Wakefield Doctrine is not free nor is it easy and it is definitely not for everyone
  • the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers requires a certain capacity to understand, a flexibility of intelligence that is necessary for a person to not simply ‘get it’ but to be able to use it to their own benefit
  • the Wakefield Doctrine is a unique, useful and fun way to finally make sense of the behavior of those people in our lives; at home, at work, in school or at play.

That’ll do.  New Readers? We are not just all about the work! We ‘borrow’ videos from the youtube and we have ourselfs a good ole time.
