Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
You know the (secretly) most difficult aspect of self-improving oneself?
Accepting the: change/improvement/’this is how I would be as a person’ that result.
Doesn’t matter what it is, if you have a certain ambition to become: more/better/’like-that’. Unless, that is, you’re a scott or a roger with a seriously deficient clarklike aspect, you probably have things (about your ownself) that you wish was…different.
The Wakefield Doctrine excels in its capacity to serve as a tool in the effort to improve one’s experience. Wanna be assertive? Study the scott. Think that the assured sociability of a roger is desirable? Have at it. (god knows there ain’t no small supply of them!)
Question for clarks reading along, lol*.
Why is it you try to ‘ne more like…’ and forget five seconds into the first interaction of your day?
What? oh yeah, the question at the start of the post!
The most difficult aspect of self-improvement efforts…in a word: acceptance.**
**trick answer! ‘ja ja‘ (as Friend of the Doctrine Cynthia once wrote). The concept of acceptance is one of those jinn-in-the-bottle situations that, curiously enough, most cultures down through history make a point of warning people about, (well, mostly children as the warning is usually disguised as a fairy tale, fable or whatever). It’s a total lynch pin to the whole process. But let’s stay in our context here. The stated value of the Wakefield Doctrine is to aid in one’s effort to:
“…improve how we relate ourselfs to the world around us and the people who make it up.”
Secret key: “how we relate ourselves to…’
That is where acceptance becomes … a thing, To know oneself is the starting point. We, all of us, have multiple versions/editions/’you’re gonna love this book, just you see’ of our ownselfs. Accepting all of them is a starting point. (Did not say: approve of/hate/deny/’you got a problem with that’?.
Acceptance. First square. Big-ass game board.
Will stop now.

Check in with the Proprietors with questions and such: Chris or Mimi or Denise . They’ll totally hook you up.
* like there’d be a scott or a roger still reading.
Speaking of Posters!

I just finished rewriting my poem for the poetry slam. I think I even figured out how to make an audio, but I haven’t tried it yet. I hope Denise is gentle when picking out a prompt word. May it be something like “and” or, better yet, “the”, but whatever it is my scott sub-character will make it work (or else).
All sounds good to me. I am sure I will be still in my writing mood… not in an audio or in a vid though (gulp). Will I write a poetry piece, maybe, although more like thinking about it. Still, nice to listen to other peoples stuff. Tee-hee, must get a poster, eh?
