Wednesday -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

The Wakefield Doctrine is:

  • a tool that offers a certain alternative perspective on the world around us (as with any tool, there is a right way to use and a whole bunch of other ways to demonstrate one’s skill in it’s use. Who among us has not hammered in a screw or perform nearly good wood-carving with a flathead screwdriver
  • a toy that offers a respite from the demands of unreasonable people, distractions of unimaginative cultural artifacts and, for those who find ‘people-watching’ endlessly fascinating, it’s a total enhancement
  • a perspective on the world at large offering like an optometrist’s steampunk-inspired trial lens sets where it is easy to compare one view with another
  • a perspective on perspective; sadly there are people who believe there is but one real world, reliable world, not-made-up world; they are not likely to be reading along. they are grounded on and in the ground of consensus reality, which while totally necessary to living a life outside and institution, is, well, limited. worse it is intended to keep people in their place… they do not appreciate additional perspectives
  • simple to use (well, easy to use improperly not easy to use correctly)

well look at that! We’re outta time.

oh yeah! there are three predominant worldviews (aka personality types) somewhere among the thirty-seven hunnert posts. Check it out. They’re fun to read and figure and, bottom line, the Wakefield Doctrine is way simple: the types are based on the character of the relationship a person maintains with the world out there and these are: Outsider (clarks) Predator (scotts) and Herd Members (rogers).

have fun

Tonight is Six Sentence Story Eve. So be sure to stop by Denise’s.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Frank Hubeny says:

Good point that consensus reality “is intended to keep people in their place”.
