Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
This is the Doctrine’s contribution to the Six Sentence Story bloghop.
Hosted by Denise, constrained by a sentence limit (high and low) of six, there are worse ways to spend the remaining time you have on earth.
Prompt word:
CHARGE
“Welcome to the Signature Room…
Fuck you…I beg your pardon?…Yeah, well it’s not like

guilty as charged is that who I think it is?
Damn, way more in person…
Anya Clarieaux is a person of remarkable eccentricities, blinding intelligence and near-limitless Will. While any two of these qualities would guarantee the average man or woman success in most endeavors, she was possessed of all three and was not encumbered by the slightest concern for conforming social standards. It is our collective good fortune the current Executive Administrative Assistant of the Omni Corporation cultivated humility to a degree that would make Mother Theresa come across like Kid Rock; she abhorred publicity and was passionate about accruing power.
“Everyone, please stop talking.”

Shall I be expecting an appearance by the ‘little people’? hehehehe
I would not be surprised at all
Stopping talking is a good start. And especially that lot over there…
thanks! (I wasn’t sure if the ‘layout/graphics’ of the conversation at the table where Ian and Rosetta and the Sophomore and Sr Aclima and Brother Leucocytus were gathered). …whew!
It sounds like Anya Clarieaux is in charge. When she tells people to shut up, they probably shut up.
If they’re smart/mature or otherwise not hard-of-hearing
That little conversation at the beginning is just perfectly placed — totally admire how you’ve done that. I had to look up Darby O’Gill though. I am entirely out of the loop on Disney whatsits.
ty
one of the (to a grade school clark) scarier* movies of the time ‘Darby O’Gill and the Little People‘
the scenes with the banshee, never forgive ole Walt
oh my gosh it’s a family affair… and they have yet to speak of politics… and the menu or drinks has yet to be served…. there couldn’t exist a livier group …. rearranging time could have anything to do with it?
in any conversation among simpatico people, doesn’t it always?
“…remarkable eccentricities…”
Often resulting in death and dismemberment, lol
That is one dinner party I’d love to be sitting adjacent to in order to listen in on their conversation. Close but not too close. Wouldn’t want to come under Ms. Clarieaux’s scrutiny!
good call
Am I the only one who seems to like Anya more with every new installment…
lol
you’re in good company… ‘tho when Anya first appeared in one of my first WIP’s ‘Blog Dominion’ I was intending to make her one of the primary villains/villainess but a lot like Lou Ceasare, she was one of those total gifts of the Muse that simply walked off the fricken page with her first scene. And like with Lou, my role is, pretty much that of a stenographer, trying to keep up.
ya know?
Anya is super efficient, keeps herself and everything else running like clockwork. Maybe anticipates her foes correctly too.
I have to say, as far as I’ve seen Anya Clarieaux in action, she always* anticipates her foes/opponents correctly
*one time in a WIP ‘Blog Dominion’ she did not best her opponent
Thank goddness she told them to shut the **** up – in a more polite fashion of course!
she wields decorum like a scalpel
