Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
This is the Wakefield Doctrine’s weekly contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. Created by Lizzi R this grat ‘hop has thrived and endured and, once again, is thriving with new Readers and a new Host (Spoiler Alert!! Grat #4)
Simple in concept, the TToT invites all to Read and Comment and, if so inclined, contribute their own list of Thankfuls. It’s easy and it’s fun and it’s beneficial for those who believe it is better to act on the premise that the world is, with a certain act of will, a positive place. That good (can) be seen to outweigh the bad and the path to leveraging this premise is the (personal) choice to identify, encourage and otherwise nurture those aspects of Life that elicit and inspire the psycho-emotional state of gratitude. Not always easy. Totally worthwhile.
Following is our list of Thankfuls
1) Phyllis (from the Before Time)
2) Una
3) the Wakefield Doctrine
4) Easy Grat: On behalf of the Hostinae and Host, (Mimi, Misky, Denise, cai, Kristi, Dyanne, Lisa, Knitcat and Andrew) we welcome Frank Hubeny as the newest Host of this here gratitude bloghop here.

The meadow is in bloom. I like how the stones and the road curve together.
Hi, Frank. Welcome to your first hosting of TToT. I’m glad the code took well to your blog. I look forward to reading your photo lists.
agree… every year, interestingly enough different plants are dominant in the space
A cosy home-video! Nice.
The garden looks lovely, and the front meadow is thriving!
All the best for your week, Clark.
thanks
yeah the meadow is fun (the side yard is showing 2 thistles this year… fun prehistoric plants
I love thistles. I have a large one that the bees love.
We do as well.
One or two of these is safe for the dog. It’s not like Mia our Siberian Husky is allowed to run loose anywhere other than the back (fenced-in) yard.
But several years ago (and for one year only) that same side yard was lousy with thistle. I mean, like thick. Very tricky to remove in the Fall*.
*my go-to equipment for this kind of job is a pair of extra long welder’s gloves (up to elbows) flexible enough but the cowhide doesn’t let me get stuck (use them on the woodstove in the Winter)
Welder’s gloves: brilliant idea. We’ll have to compare flower heads, as in photos, this autumn. Mine look like the national flower of Scotland. Big. Purple-blue.
I love the video and photos of greenery. Gardening is one of my workouts. Of course, regular readers of TToT will already know that searching for specific household and grocery items is another one of my workouts.
this is true
and thanks! the video this week was an excellent remembrance of a very fine dog
Your projects and experiments continue apace, may they all work out as hoped.
slower than I’d like but still satisfying
Great vid!
