TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Doctrine’s weekly contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. Conceived of and manifested in the blogosphere by our Founderini, Lizzi R, it is a fun exercise in the awareness of and the encourgagement of the ever elusive (for some of us) state of gratitude.

The photo at the top of this post? Early morning’s night-time frost.

Our list this week:

1) Phyllis

2) Una

3) the Wakefield Doctrine

4) Approaching one of the Big Three Holidays… the Feast of Saint Roger (see Grat 9)

5) the Six Sentence Story bloghop

6) Hypo-grat (at least the dog finds the temperature pleasing) And …and!! Zoom in there, behind the Husky…ice on the pond!!

7) something, something

8) only thirty more days until Summer!

9) Phyllis is a roger with a significant secondary clarklike aspect. She enjoyed our impulse gift of a pre-Christmas/T-Giving tee shirt

10) Secret Rule 1.3

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

#6. You’ll be ice skating soon. Playing hockey. Sucking up fruity-flavoured-slushy stuff.

All the best for the week!

aiiyeee no, I will be (only seasonal activity) gathering kindling for a winter’s supply for our downstairs fireplace/woodstove ice skates and I were barely speaking when I was young, but three 10 penny nails in my femur (a fall from the roof in the early ’90s) takes away whatever attraction to falling on ice might have held for my younger self.lol

  2. I’m sure the husky is adoring the weather, I wish I could learn to really enjoy cold.

She (Mia) was born in Meridian MS (I know! Go figure!)

      personally, being cold between mid-September and mid-June, I think it’s way over-rated

  3. I think if I ever lived that far north again, I’d enjoy a pond I could skate on in the winter. I see something’s caught the Husky’s eye off to the left…hang on to that leash, lol
Your pre Christmas gift t-shirt made me laugh. Question is, will she wear it!

That St. Nicholas tee is CLASSIC! I also laughed OUT LOUD at your explanation of this upcoming week’s holiday: The Feast of St. Roger. HAHAHA. Priceless. But, if I HAD to choose between Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s to celebrate (and I couldn’t celebrate the others in this hypothetical situation)…I was gonna say Thanksgiving. But then I typed in New Year’s and actually, I think I like that one even better: New Year’s is usually me asleep on the couch or in bed, and I just happen to wake up when I hear fireworks. Haha. That’s my idea of celebrating New Year’s. Thanksgiving is in second place: I like how it’s not frenzied with commercialization and presents. Christmas? Probably my LEAST favorite holiday BECAUSE of how crazy things get. My favorite holiday? Halloween. I have discovered of late that I enjoy making costumes and wowing people with them, actually. Plus, the purple, orange and even green colors make me smile.

Halloween! I totally concur (well, duh!)… after all I mean serially, T-Giving not only is it celebrating genocide and total cultural appropriations but integral to it’s celebration? Parades! aiyyee (can’t decide which is worse, standing in a crowd on a cold November morning until something walks by you on the street or being in the parade and marching down the street… totally prescribed festivities right down to the menu
X-Mas Come all you merry gentlemen (gentlemen!! what the hell did they do to bring this about?!?! “Sorry Mary, all the hotels are booked for the killing all infants’ day… and no! I promise no one is going either a mynah bird or Frankenstein. I’ll make it up to you, I promise… Easter! Yeah, we’ll go aways one of these Easters’

Halloween! there’s a clarklike holiday…. Hey! Who do you really wanna be? One night only, sorry!’

Did I miss something in a previous post? Who is the Husky? Introductions, please!
(Oh, and don’t forget to link up!)

Nice list. Having something to count down and look forward to, keeps the excitement going.
