Monday -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

What say we start the week of Doctrine posts* with a look at the concept of secondary and tertiary aspects?

That’d be fun, right?

Three predominant worldviews:

  1. clarks (the Outsider)
  2. scotts (the Predator)
  3. rogers (the Herd Member)

At a very, very early point in life, one, (and only one), of the three characteristic ways of relating ourselves to the world around us becomes established (and, yes, permanent).

What of ‘the other two’?

They remain as potentials.

What does it mean to have ‘potential ways of relating ourselves to the world around us’? It means that they are hard-wired in our selfs. These (we’re talking about all three now) are predispositions to how we interact with reality.

The answer, roger, is ‘No’. The question they were preparing, and by preparing, we mean putting the lightest of interrogatives to their ‘question’ with the intention of concluding, ‘Then it’s true! I am really all three.”

No. (lol go away now)

The thing of the Doctrine and these predispositions is that they are the character of/manner by which/ways to relate. How effectively we relate is a function of practice.

Put it this way: you have a script. no, wait, let’s not use the word script…let’s use stage direction.

We’re not screenplay writers, we’re probably using the term ‘stage direction’ incorrectly. Too bad. If you’re still reading (and enjoying yourself) you know what we mean.

Practice, rehearsal and ‘owning the part’ is what the Wakefield Doctrine is saying about the three ways to relate ourselfs to the world around us.

Which is why, other than under duress, my significant secondary scottian aspect doesn’t make me a scott.

Running out of time. Fortunately, the clarks among the Readers either intuitively ‘get it’ or, with sufficient elements (of the Wakefield Doctrine) are able to extrapolate further principles and in doing so allow them to enjoy the benefits of our little personality type-thingie.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Misky says:

“Running out of time…” ? I have two questions:

    1. Do you have a little timer ticking away over there?
    2. Ummm … I’ve forgotten the second question. But it was a good one.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      no!
worse! the ‘real’ world makes demands on me in the morning*

*all things being equal I have more success writing in the morning (earlier the better) than at night. how is your schedule? one end of the day or the other?

  2. “Under duress” and in states of a certain quality of “free floating” energy. Agree, the most common state for a secondary aspect to surface. ’95 trip to Europe. No way, in any realm, I could have done what I did, as a clark. Because of the pressure involved, a switch flipped (to my secondary scottian aspect). I wasn’t conscious of it. A total acting in the moment.

Practice and rehearsal. This I actively engaged in once upon a time to encourage my rogerian tertiary aspect. It kinda sorta worked. Sometimes, lol.

  3. Reading and enjoying, trying to take care of sick parents. Will comment better later, or maybe not depending on how sick they get.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

not for nothin’ but clarks have more an extremely high capacity to care for others than they do for themselfs… which is a good thing
… except (you knew there was going to be an ‘except’ lol) the sense of taking care of oneself as/in the role of caregiver is a productive if not intuitive thing for people of a clarklike nature…
      just sayin’
our thoughts, energy and whatever variation on this theme are with you and them

  4. Cynthia says:

That secondary aspect has the “potential” to slide in, make an appearance, and confuse everyone. When my Scott shows up, people be like, “whoa. Who the hell is THAT!?” When my Roger shows up, people be like, “Oh FINALLY she’s gotten agreeable.” But my standard Clarklike self? People be like, “She’s out there, man. I don’t even know what the hell she does with herself.”

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

totally grateful for (my) having a significant secondary scottian aspect… it doesn’t really add content but boy does it add volume lol (and not even in loudness, just a way of projecting what I’m doing (as a clark).
still pretty much negligible in terms of tertiary rogerian though
funny thing, when I do get more sociable/rogerian, they like it but I get… kinda nauseous lol
