Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
This is the Doctrine’s weekly contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful(TToT) bloghop. An exercise in the encouragement and cultivation and imbracchiare* of the psycho-spiritual state of gratitude.
You know, the things that, when they happen (or with the license given contributors for range of subject matter) or are remembered, elicit an response of something along the lines of ‘Well, that didn’t suck!’ or ‘Jeez dodged a bullet on that one!’ or even, ‘I could get used to this, even if I’m not overly deserving of such.’
You get the idea. We’re always grateful for the Hostinae who, with their mature, insightful and non-critical view of this exercise allow us to write all SOC. And, so our List:
1) Phyllis
2) Una (as a muy youngito pupina)
3) the Wakefield Doctrine
4) Hypo-Grat* change of seasons. (New Readers? Hypo-Grat is a legit Grat to make the List, provided one can find a positive to the person, place, thing or event designated as a hypo-grat
5) photo at top of post? the insidious approach of Anti-Summer. the yellowing of even the damn pine trees!
6) the Six Sentence Story bloghop
7) Rain. Friday it the weather was… (wait, allow us to look up the correct meteorological term for excessive precipitation…. ah! here ) ‘It rained like a bastard!’ thanks go to our weather scott for that insight lol
8) something, something
9) photos of pond (and dog) …see Grat # 7
10) Secret Rule 1.3

Hypo-grat: really, really grateful the Carolinas didn’t get socked with yet another hurricane. Whew…I’ve never watched a weather forecast so closely. :) I’m always glad for the Doctrine, of course.
a bullet dodged is surely the most immediate of grats!
