Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Simplest, (arguably most useful), result of adopting the perspective the Wakefield Doctrine? In terms of the events of the day to come, (vis á vis our interaction with the world around us and the people who make it up.)
There are three realities possible for all of us. Therefore how others act (and react) is made understandable in one of these three predominant worldviews.
It’s Monday morning!!
- clarks (the Outsider) “Oh well, even the most determined wish for an alternative more/less advantageous outcome to our efforts today, to learn the thing that everyone else seems to know, it’s best to get out there and keep tryin'”
- scotts (the Predator) “Allll right!! Night survived… quiet now, catch ’em by surprise!”
- rogers (the Herd Member) “Ah… a day of opportunity, a time to hone our understanding and spread the word about the Right Way”
there ya go.
Encounter an obstacle later this morning? Try on the three views-of-the-world above. One of them will tell you how the other person, (the obstacle), is experiencing your world (at that) moment. Use the insight wisely.
There is not a situation possible that, seeing through the eyes of another, cannot be improved with the slightest of effort.
Full Disclosure: By ‘slightest of efforts’ we mean really, really, no, seriously, really difficult, to actually do. And the reason? That’s gonna aggravate some Readers, makes others laugh and, unless they move on to something more familiar, piss off others. The key to this effort is to accept that there is more to the world than what you know.
But, the Doctrine is fun, too! Find a roger (or a scott or a clark) in your life today and, if you’ve done enough reading to know the characteristics of the three, you will find yourself thinking, “Hey This is a set up! They must’ve read that Doctrine thing.”
WARNING: If you can recognize the clarks, scotts and rogers in your world? There’s a very good chance you will become unable to not see the clarks, scotts and rogers in your life. lol

There is always more.
true dat
And I ask you – if seen, why would you ever want to “un-see” them!
lol there is that (at least they can’t sneak up on us so easy*)
*not that getting sneaked up on doesn’t involve the prey playing their part and closing theys eyes
I would be very busy thinking and analyzing on my feet.
Thank you for the kind words (in your other Comments)… the thing about the Wakefield Doctrine is that, as Denise likes to reminds us, if you view it like a language it not only becomes ‘easier’* but fun. Like with another language, while you might build on a vocabulary, it is when you encounter everyday situations that you begin to become fluent.
And that’s less work than fun, like re-reading a book
*or, at least, not so mysterious
