Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
So, the Everything RuleHey! Down at the bottom of the post, New Reader. Ya know, if’n you did your reading, you wouldn’t be all ‘but…but! notwithstanding, there are some jobs. occupations, vocations, avocations and dalliances best suited to one of the three.
Physician: roger (for the technical/sciency medicine, i.e. oncologist, orthopedics), clark (pediatrician, gerontologist, psychiatrist), scott (see next subset)
Surgeon: scott
Dentist: roger hygienist: clark (only if the class for physical therapist was all full on registration day lol)
We could list a lot more, but the Doctrine is a tool. Actually, to be more precise, the Wakefield Doctrine is an additional perspective (on the world around us and the people who make it up) so, go ahead, think of different jobs and professions and the imagine each of the three predominant worldviews in that role.
ProTip:
See, the Wakefield Doctrine is about relationships. Make that a verb. It’s about how we relate ourselfs to the world we find ourselves living in.
So, consider the profession of carpenter. If you are relating yourself to the world as does the Herd Member, how do you feel about this business of working in wood? Hint: you know there’s a Right Way and it, (this Right Way), will distinguish you from those around you engaged in the same task. Category: woodworking/finish carpenter/craftsman. You with us?
OK consider law enforcement. Quick! First memory-impressions. Chase the bad guys. Capture the bad guys. So who do you think will bring the fullest personal involvement to executing the duties of the profession? An Outsider who is ever-curious but needs to stay in the background lest they be scrutinized? Or, perhaps a Herd Member? They surely know that rules are not to be broken but unless they have support, (posse/mob/a third of the gym class), they’ll wait it out. Who just stole the police car?!! ;p. there’s your person. the Predator.
We’ve provided the template. You want to have fun with the Wakefield Doctrine’s unique perspective? Then read up on the three ‘personality types’ understand their individual relationship with the everyday world. And, it wouldn’t hurt to learn characteristic behaviors and such, i.e. the workshop pegboard with each individual tool’s outline stenciled on it or the mumbled joke that seems to emanate from somewhere beyond the first ring of gathered students or, even, the woman at the supermarket that makes you not mind the wait in line.
Like that.
We know you can do this. Don’t worry about getting it right. You can’t get it wrong and, even better, you can’t break it.
clarks think, scotts act and rogers feel
the Wakefield Doctrine is for you, not them
