TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Wakefield Doctrine’s contribution to the bloghop that Time Magazine* wrote an Op Ed that began with: “Did you read they stuff they post every week? Let’s forget the magazine and return to the life of competitive badminton and social climbing! These ‘people’ have it all!” (source: Hartford Current est. 1764)

See that asteroid in the first line? We’ll be asking Denise to take Grat #5 this week, so we can put it in at number 4, following ‘the Wakefield Doctrine’ for reasons abundantly obvious to those qualified to read and smile with a touch of cynical wisdom.

1) Una (clever caption: ‘ikr?’)

2) Phyllis

3) the Wakefield Doctrine (Because…well, wait ’til you read the next Grat)

4) *  (we did some research on Time Magzine (the long-running magazine, published weekly in the ‘real’ world)… Damn! You know how, in old, print text books, there’d be a bunch ‘a information then a square with a drawing or illustration of some-such in the middle of the page? If we had the WP skills, we’d be doing that right here: The two principle founders of Time Magazine: Henry Luce and Briton Haddon. Rather than make the obvious reference to clarks, scotts and rogers, we’ll simply say, ‘We know what you’re thinking, Fans of the Wakefield Doctrine! That’s what we thought as soon as we did a read on the wikipedia page! Yeah, where’s the clark? We thought that too! lol p.s. found the clark, hidden in the background. lol

5) the Six Sentence Story bloghop the ‘in place’ for reading (and writing) short, little stories an such.

6) serial stories: the Whitechapel Interlude and the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf

7) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules) if for no other reasons than allowing hypo-grats to be valid items on a list of people, places and things that make us feel grateful. Example in Grat 8

8) (hypo-grat**) the current state of season… non-Summer. (The rain and the clouds and such. Not to say if it wasn’t raining, we’d be breaking out into Rodgers and Hammerstein song or anything… but, it’s a intimation of the Temperatures-to-Come. That said, fortunately, not to mention names, there are some around here (coughMimi ….cough) who are way more evolved than yours truly, so much so as to not only find the good in this, but to have the ability to express it so the average person can ‘get it’. So, we’re grateful for the company we (are permitted to) keep.

9) out to Pat Brockett (second music vid) being a participant emerita who is gifted with a most eclectic of appreciation for music)

10) Secret Rule 1.3 (disambiguation: Grat 7)

** to cite a person, place or thing that would on all accounts be considered being of such character as to cause the average person to comment, “Hey, dude! Bummer! Hate it when that happens.” as a legitimate item for inclusion as an item on a gratitude list.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

#9–I think that has developed over time and in large part due to the musical taste of my dad. (Not to say that she doesn’t have a wide range of musical appreciation on her own, but put together they are something else entirely.) :-)

(Don’t forget to link up! btw, I don’t have the code sent to me anymore since I took a break from blogging, so you’ll have to find the link on the TToT blog.)

It is a joy to have as a friend someone who has introduced me to such wonderful terms as “hypo-grat.”
