TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Wakefield Doctrine’s seven hundred sixty-third contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop.

Hardly seems like such a long time, right? And, being Summer, (technically ante Winter), we thought it would be fun to do a semi, full-on reprint! (If that rhetorical logic makes you think, ‘Wait a darn minute, what does Winter have to do with using old material in what is supposed to be a candid look at the people, places or things that have caused the author to feel grateful?!’ We fully understand.)

If you’re still reading, welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine’s weekly effort to connect and share with others on the topic of gratitude. Sure, a bit like a pre-op patient trying to sell the surgeon a complete set of Ginsu knives. But, we digress.

Since we’ve decided to do a reprint, in it’s entirety, we would surely be remiss in our duties as host* (and sole emissary from Y Chromia) if’n we didn’t  run a quick, Grat List. (Speaking of hostinae, we’re seeing Lisa on the boards and speaking of… (lol) shout-(as-much-as-clark-might-assay)- out to our host, Dyanne for keeping the lights and ac on here at the TToT clubhouse.

Una, Phyllis, ‘the Doctrine (and it’s principles, of course)… oh yeah, leave us not forget the serial stories and ‘the Home Flash Fic, the Six Sentence Story‘ and….and! (glad you thought that**) a couple of Kristi-istic Grats!! yep, your eyes are not engaging in a campagin of reframing the world… you do see Kristi in the house again! (We can go from, “Hello, what a pleasant surprise. Come, sit in the living room and tell how you’ve been.” to “Hey! It’s Kristi… (voice off stage, most likely sounding like Mimi) “We’re in the kitchen, come on, we’ll set another place.” )
and, for Kristi2 Mark your calendars, Kristi Campbell will be sparking a new Finish the Sentence Friday next week! The Doctrine has always been grateful for the FTSF for being the first ‘hop we participated. (cha ching! Grat #9(ish)…  which, as we all know, is a subchapter of Secret Rule 1.3 ( “...and the geek shall inherit the mirth”)

Hey! We were about to cut ‘n paste the post from August 2013 that forms the basis of this week’s ‘oT but we started to read it and saw all the thumbnails and links and such and thought, how much fun it would be to have the whole thing right on the page. But then our clarklike predominant worldview started whispering… are you sure you should… And, serially, we’d be looking at the blue hyperlinks and thinking shit like, “Yeah but they’re on hiatus better delink‘ and “Didn’t she say something about ‘insane and irrelevant pseudo-psychology’ better respect her views’. You get the idea. But, where there’s a will there’s a workaround.

We interrupt this thoroughly engaging SOC with a Doctrine Moment. clarks have a hyper-developed sense of privacy. We assume that if someone tells us virtually anything, it is not our right to tell anyone else. Which, students of our little personality theory will recognize as one of the reasons clarks are unable to participate in whatever herd might exist at work or school or the daycare (‘Herd’ in this context means a group of rogers). clarks simply don’t feel comfortable sharing information they’ve received personally. (Good thing the deck crew of the Titanic didn’t consist of all clarks. The fatality list would have been so much greater.)

So, compromise! Here is the link to the existing page from August 2013. You up for a trip with the Professor and Sherman, you’re invited to click on the link in the next line. (The link marked: Click this)

* from the Latin, orīginālis hostum ‘that guy who just refused to take a hint and stop coming around’

** no, not that part about, ‘Jeez is this ever going to make sense…those other posts are so well-written, this Doctrine thing reads like it used to sound when you ran the edge of your hand horizontally over the top of the channel selector knob on the radio in your parent’s car.’

Music vids (got caught up in a Beatle’s vibe can you forgive us?)

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. “Sure, a bit like a pre-op patient trying to sell the surgeon a complete set of Ginsu knives.”

If I were to write a TToT, which I darned well think I should, then first off would be for your humor, Clark. Makes me smile, makes me laugh. *note to self – write TToT*

Yes. All is forgiven. So you don’t mind if I step out and into the Wayback Machine and see for myself?

P.S. WELCOME BACK KRISTIS!!!! You’ve both been missed.

  2. As always, a pleasure and a bit of a trip at the same time.

It’s good to be back! I thought at first the ” seven hundred sixty-third contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT)” might be a bit of an exaggeration, but seeing that your reprint is from 2013, it might not be that far off! lol What an amazing thing this brainchild of Lizzi’s is!

good to have you back… it’s hard to imagine the length of time this thing has been going on (in part due directly to your work keeping the lights on)

You always keep the band playing even if we march in different directions and I can only handle the kazoo!
