Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Well, we seem to be in a pervasive mood of nostraligia*
Always seems to happen when we find ourselves on the edge of non-Winter**.
This is the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. Fashioned from necessity and inner strength, this ‘hop is the work of our Founderess Lizzi from sometime in 1983. (I believe it was Spring. The Thames was ice-free, if I recall, and babies in their racing prams plied the syrupy river in training for the annual regatta.)
Enough reminiscing, as this week’s TToT is a reprint from…. eight years ago***
Dyanne is our host. She was one of the original co-hostinae, which, again in blogging years puts her somewhere between Granny Clampett and Moms Mabley. However true, in the ‘real’ world, she has been compared to Ginger and Ginger.****
So, what we (see photo ⇑ ) are grateful for this week includes (but is not limited to) Phyllis, Una, the Wakefield Doctrine, the Six Sentence Story, the 20 Minute Real Estate Briefing, the Whitechapel Interlude and the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf and… the following reprint:
Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
I am ‘happy’ to have another Post to contribute to the Ten Things of Thankful bloghop. Created by Considerer with the aid, support, encouragement and participation of Christine and them, this is not your typical bloghop. While there is nothing wrong with the ‘typical’ bloghops (I participate in the Twisted MixTape Tuesday run by Jen (My Skewed View) and Kristi (Finding Ninee) and Finish The Sentence Friday Janine ( ‘mommyholic) and Kate (‘bottle of Whine) and Stephanie (‘for Real) and Kristi.
What makes our TToT different is that it is a true ‘weekend blog hop’. By that I simply mean that it starts this morning and ends tomorrow night. If you want to participate you can do so at any time this weekend…and (here’s the difference) people come and read and Comment throughout the weekend, so if you have trouble today (I am a great example, I have to work today, so I’ll get this Post in and read who ever is around…later in the middle of the day, I’ll pop in and see whats going on…then the end of the day and so on). And… Comments? thats a little different here too! Jump in anywhere we totally believe in cross commenting. So… I think I have put this off as long as I can… my List of Ten Things:
(…yeah, I know!)
(too late to quit now!)
(…lets wrap this up!)
Ok… I had fun doing this…. (did someone just imply that they were….?)
Number 10 I am grateful that I am able to submit the above as my TToT of this Week.
We’re here all weekend (‘try the veal’) Be sure to tip your Waitress… and Comment (‘dammit! Jim I’m a Wakefield Doctrine writer, not a videographer!)
Your hostsA Fly on our (Chicken Coop) Wall, Considerings, Finding Ninee, I can say mama, I Want Backsies, Steps into Parenthood, Thankful Me, The Wakefield Doctrine

**** one from Gilligan’s Island and the other from ‘Casino’ Hey! Lets go and do a Poll!! What harm can come of that, seeing how it’s only the regulars what come around here on weekends!

Well… think I needed this post. I always enjoy the reprints. In particular, the TToT driving vids. Trips down memory lane in more ways than one. And! It goes without saying, there’s nothing better than your person and dog to round out the picture :)
As a clark, I couldn’t help but laugh when I got to Puddles. For no other reason than 1) he did such an excellent job, 2) Mr. Geier, totally a clark and 3) he is encouragement for creative self-expression and example of doing so in spite of the fear.
Yeah, bless Lizzi for setting in motion “the little engine that could” and Dyanne for carrying on here week after week..
P.S. The information overseers denied my full comment. A shame that it was censored. It was really, really good 🤣
thanks
it was fun in the making, fun in the reprinting
Those videos were way cool.
Thank you.
I miss the videos! Glad to see them back. Also good to see green again to remind us that spring is not far away!
I’m not sure who to vote for in your poll. My uncle always told me I looked like Ava Gardner. At the time, I didn’t know who she was. When I got a little older and found out, I was okay with it
I remember that it was warm in the car which is all a lifeform can ask for
