Finish the Sentience Friday -the Wakefield Doctrine- “Its a stream of consciousness theme this Friday and who doesn’t enjoy a good stream of consciousness post, well, I’ll tell you who…wait, is this thing on?”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Here is this week’s official Finisher’s Guidelines and Orientation Packet

We’re on tonight with this week’s Finish the Sentence Stream of Consciousness post! Write 5 minutes on the prompt word “Laughter.” So hoping to see you there. We can do this! It’s just five minutes right? Write!
The linkup will go live tonight at 10pm and remain open through Sunday evening. Link up with Kenya G. Johnson or moi here:

Lets try something a little different. No, really!

Five minutes?! Do they mean like, five…. half of ten….

shit

hey, you know the hardest things about doing an SOC, at least doing it the ‘right’ way? It that ‘corralling effect’. Like when you were a kid, in summer at the swimming pool (not your own backyard one, but a country club or some place where they had rules and one of the rules was adults only for 15 minutes on each hour and then, the kids, knowing that the time is approaching try their best not to crowd the sides of the pool and jostle for position…. like that.

But that’s not the damn topic this morning (and it’s important that I get on topic, ’cause I’m using an actual timer on my phone and theres a minute left!!)

Laughter… it’s a near spiritual condition, like great sex, as soon as you’re aware of how successful (and good you are at it)…it stops and becomes something mundane…

Time’s up!!

…well, perhaps not my most polished FTSF. But, what’s a writer gonna do.

I know what I’m gonna do (yeah, this is the ego getting all Kanye on my keyboard right here and now. I. Am. Not. Going. To. Read. What. I. Wrote*

*til way later in the day. (yeah, ooh baby, you dangerous!)

Thanks.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. The Kanye reference definitely made me LOL. So I say you accomplished your goal of laughter this morning for your reader (me) if nothing else! :)

  2. Kenya G. Johnson says:

It was funny Clark! You did good. Lol! I love how you summed up laughter in less than a minute.

  3. Coolio! (no, not the rapper 😁)

  4. LOL to not going to read it until later. You rocked your five minutes, friend! And laughter and sex – not mundane. Booya. :D

  5. Vickie says:

Kanye!!!!! I’d would have liked to see that! Helluva 5 minutes!

  6. ha to Kanye!! And to it being like sex. The soc are hard for me and I often really do it, but then add like.. 500 minutes of other writing. I’m not so good at it after all.

(that was my reference to the kids at the pool, soon as I think, ok an SOC post… the ideas start to crowd, and then I get all… damn, if I don’t ‘write it down’ they gonna evaporate…you know, like kids around a swimming pool full of adults.)
lol (that’s my favorite part of SOC the release from the responsibility to make any particular sense.)

  7. Mardra says:

I agree that laughter can be spiritual. I have to say that I haven’t found, however, that my study or understanding of laughter (or your correlated action/reaction of sex) has created a feeling of mundanity, well, yet anyway… :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

there is something ‘un-earthly about laughter …imo (laughing as opposed to laughter, which I put in the category of a ‘response’ as opposed to an induced state.)
      ya know?

  8. Pat B says:

I’d never thought of laughter as being spiritual, but after thinking about that, I guess it is in that it affects our spirit, and when experienced with another person gives us an intense connection. A profound thought in your FTSF post!
