TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘what? why no, I always look like this…. oh, I get it! it’s Halloween!’ (ha ha)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

So lets get all old school on this here TToT post here.

1)Lizzi  aka (‘La Maîtresse de la Maison de l’effort contre toute attente à devenir quelque chose qui au sein, nous sommes déjà’) Creatrix of thé TToT which is such an enduring community, due, in no small part to (her) encouraging the breaking of rules

2)speaking of Rules, I (almost) always cite the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules), not just because it’s fun, but because, for those of us less-emotionally-fluent people, the SBoR/BoSR enables us to find ways to express ourselfs

3)speaking of selfs, shout out to my twin-with-an-entirely-different-genome, Kristi  she was part of the crew at the first bloghop that the Doctrine participated in, the Finish the Sentence Friday. Very grateful. Not simply for the introduction to one of our more successful (and subversive) venues for our little personality theory, but because it was there that I met the aforementioned Ms. Rogers (and, pretty much everyone else that count as friends in this place.)

4)speaking of posse glad to have such good company at the Gravity Challenge every week…. Christine and Kristi, Val and Lisa and Joy and Sarah…. (see? I can write names with capital letters) these people put the ‘amazing’ in ‘the internet’.

5)writing about speaking gets us to zoe and the Gang of Six  ‘yo!! semi-colons fricken rule!!

6)speaking of serial stories… somehow we’ll see Chapter 3 (of the increasingly interesting story), ‘Blogdominion‘ this weekend.

7)the Wakefield Doctrine, always a mention, simply because it is the reason you’re reading this

8)our geographic location, the photo above was taken this Tuesday past from Wawaloam Dr which is a few minutes from my office…. the best thing about the picture? the smell of the salt air… and the sound (not just of the crashing waves, but the undertone of the sand being pushed and pulled over and through the not-yet-sand rocks and boulders) v cool

9)speaking of (ha! you thought I lost the motif!) sine qua non… Phyllis and Una  (Queen of Treehouses and co-pilot extraordinaire )

10) 1.3 y’all

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    Frist.

  2. ivywalker says:

    Frist????

  3. valj2750 says:

That photo is lovely. I can hear the waves and smell the salt air, cool and crisp with the season, Ahhhh! When is the next chapter of that wonderful story at Blogdominion coming out? Not that I’m pressuring you or anything. My heart is in each one of your thankfuls.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

tomorrow (when we learn more about Ed and Diane Willoughby and their 2 children, Alice and Simon and watch as the fissures appear in the bedrock upon which they built their family, in the Chicago suburb of Mt. Prospect. (Ed, we’ll recall has received an email from another character, Tom Fearing, but dinner takes precedence at the Willoughbys )

  4. ivywalker says:

Oh well…thats what i get for reading first… I couldnt lose frist to a better frister!!!! Wow…i wanna work at your office… Also i wanna read chpt 3! hola to the tree top royalty and k9 jester.

  5. Denise says:

Hey! ivy! What say we ask Val if we three can share FRIST! I mean, maybe there’s something in the SBOR/BOSR just for this purpose. Ya know, shared FRIST on a TTOT?

I am so jealous of the proximity to such places and to such a wonderful smell as that of ocean, salt air…..

  6. Vanessa D. says:

Living near the water is a great thing to be thankful for, I find it hard to imagine living in a more landlocked place.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah, me too. I’ve some friends that live in the mountains, and they try to say that it’s just like the ocean (or other large bodies of water) always changing and such. I don’t believe them.

  7. May says:

Oh, number 8 is the one I covet this week. Which begs the question—is there a secret rule which states our own thankfuls are negated by the coveting of someone else’s? Maybe that is not such a secret rule!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

or…. or there is a multiplying effect… proxy-gratitude (yeah, I am making that word up).
      ;p

  8. Grr…my first comment disappeared. Oh well. :)

Just saying hi. Happy Halloween. What is this? A clark holiday? Hehe.

Had my first run-in with a roger at work the other day. The flash of emotion, and my rational rebuttal a few days later…life is better when you understand the world views.

    • Denise says:

Don’t you hate it when the words get eaten?!!

I think it is a clarklike holiday. At least in the suspension of reality department. We are very good at “pretend” :D

Really? If you feel like talking about it it would make for a good excuse to call in tonight :D
(Not that you need an excuse!) Unless you are having movie night. Oh, but wait! You will be handing out candy to the children from your new neighborhood from the front door of your new home!

With a little practice, you can have a most excellent rebuttal right then and there!!

Agreed. Life is WAY much better when “you understand the world views.”

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Cyntharita! so a clarklike holiday! sanctioned be-someone/something else day!

but tell me, was the residual less than it might have been in the past? (the residual doubt and self-questioning that clarks often find themselves doing to themselves after an encounter with a roger who lashes out)

  9. lrconsiderer says:

#3, #8, Undertow, Subtext. Still not keen on #1 this week, but #10 ALWAYS rocks.

  10. dyannedillon says:

I LURRRRRRRVE that picture! How cool to have that so close by! I’m behind the 8 ball in all things blog related, but I finally rejoined the Six Sentence Story this week. Next on my list is reading Blogdominion

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

I was glad you did (get back in the Six Sentence game)… I trust you approve of my homage or remodel or whatever the hell it was that I did

Look forward to your reaction/response to Blogdominion, I’m almost through with the ‘set-up’ of the story (introducing the primary characters), given your innate sense of story, any feedback will surely be helpful!

  11. love the photo and the post. Nice job as always.

  12. Kristi says:

Semi-colons do help make the 6 sentence limit workable!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol I know what you mean; I am grateful as well!*

damn! now I have to go look up ‘the proper use of semi-colons!

  13. christine says:

As I just wrote on Val’s blog…Oh to live so close to the ocean…Landlocked is pretty, but not quite the same. Great photo!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

thank you… yeah, I’ve been good to the ocean and wish I hadn’t… plus it’s a full sensory thing, sight and sound and smell and tactile

  14. Pat B says:

It is always interesting to see how much variance there are of the beaches that line the ocean waters. We don’t have the type of stones you mentioned on our shores here. I need to come back and read the next chapter of Blogdominion. Congratulations on this next chapter.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah… the image (I have of the Pacific Coastline) is mostly tall cliff with pine forests to the edge, maybe some sand where the water meets the land.

Thank you… we’re meeting the Willoughbys (in Chapter 3) Ed Willoughby is a key character in the matter of the (possibly) diabolical malfunction of Unit 17… but, personally, I think his daughter Alice steals the show (I’m sure it happens all the time, but I’m tickled pink at how, as this story unfolds, I’m liking characters that I didn’t realize were there!
(Chapter 4 in the works* and we catch up with Sister Margaret Ryan as she arrives in Chicago to help …. and there’s a new character (no, seriously, I had no idea she existed before this weekend) in Maribeth Hartley a Detective new to the Chicago PD**)

      * ie alternating between ‘hey! this is fun’ and ‘why couldn’t I take up an easier hobby, like sky diving or rock climbing?!!’
** she’s the first female Detective on the force

  15. fangboner1 says:

    Ah very nicely crafted list.

  16. herheadache says:

For me, this week, it was a little less crashing of waves and more splish splash of the ripples along the shore, but I’ll take it. Love both.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

funny about water, it has it’s effect no matter what, the scale may affect the volume of sound but it is still the same thing, somehow
