Friday the Wakefield Doctrine ( the ‘yes to a 2nd date’, Day of the Week… is hope ever more dangerous?)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

My personal belief is that clarks are benefitting from (their) understanding of the Wakefield Doctrine. In support of this Claim, of the following statements/reactions, which are the ones most likely to be uttered (or muttered) by a clark and, (for bonus points), which by ‘the other two’, when asked to respond to this assertion?

  • ‘I guess so, but I don’t think I’m ready yet’
  • ‘Depends on how you define…benefitting’
  • ‘I want to believe that, but these are only my experience with this Doctrine’
  • ‘Yeah, fuckin A!!!’
  • ‘You know, you might want to wait to have more, objective and supporting evidence, before you go around making such bold claims’

My credentials as a clark: I am, even as I type, wondering if a) I need to present more reasons, and b) whether I can back up my claims…   whatever.

the Wakefield Doctrine is a tool and a toy, a perspective and a vanity, a weapon and an indulgence. the Wakefield Doctrine offers an additional way of understanding, not only the behavior of the people in our lives, but our own way of living. the Wakefield Doctrine, applied effectively, will keep you from ever again lamenting, “Why on earth would they go and say a thing like that? I really thought I knew them better” the Wakefield Doctrine is simple to use:

  1. allow that we all exist (to a certain degree) in what is best described as a ‘personal reality’ ( and agree to call it ‘a worldview’)
  2. learn the nature and characteristics of the three worldviews: the Outsider(clarks), the Predator(scotts) and the Herd Member(rogers)
  3. observe the behavior of the people in your life and try to infer how ‘they are relating themselves to the world around them’
  4. laugh and/or giggle (or maybe get scared and/or mad) at how, once you start to see the clarks and scotts and rogers in your world, they all do it so well you think maybe someone put them up to it
  5. remember: we are all born with the potential to live in any of the three worldviews, even though we are all in one, we never lose the capacity to experience the world as do ‘the other two’

that’s enough for now.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Don’t feel bad, Denise, Zoe, and Jny. I have nothing to do but sit here and wait for you all to post.
Statements 1-3 are clark, 4 is scott, and 5 roger. Am I right?
Thanks for the shout out! Visitors to the blog are much better than visitors to the house. Blog visitors can’t smell me or see the nasty, greasy hair atop my head. :)

    • Denise says:

I gladly cede any FRIST comments Christine. A woman in your condition needs some conciliatory gestures non?
Haven’t been over to the Coop yet. Surgery went well?
