Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
the Wakefield Doctrine is a way to (better) understand the behavior of the people in our lives, it is a tool that can aid in our efforts to self-improve our selfs and it is a fun way to appreciate the friends we have and engage and enjoy the company of people that we otherwise would never in a million years have come to know. The challenge of the Wakefield Doctrine is to understand and appreciate how a person relates themselves to the world around them… including our own selves.
you know how, every time a Reader or a DownSprings says something about: going to grad school, attending a wedding, trying to learn how to build a ship in a bottle, I always say (actually, I kinda yell) ‘Take Notes!!’ The reason I feel moved to ask people to ‘Take Notes!!’ is that I truly believe in (the concept of) the three characteristic worldviews, that form the foundation of the Wakefield Doctrine. I believe that, if you are a clark and I am a clark, your experiences are something that I can identify with and therefore, what you tell me about how you got through a: tough experience, a happy and joyful occasion, a nerve-racking first date, the job interview that must-result-in-being-offered-a-postion, is directly useful and completely valuable to me. And this value is not limited to my being better prepared for having a similar experience. It is valuable to me as I use the Doctrine to improve my self as a person.
so, about yesterday’s Post…
Some of what lead to yesterday’s Post was an aspect of a clarklike worldview that, at the risky of sounding overly-dramatic, if you are not a clark you would not understand. In no way to I mean to imply that if my Post caused hurt feelings or offended anyone, it’s excusable, because ‘…you wouldn’t understand what I was going through‘. I may be demonstrating some naiveté in saying, that there is no excuse for being self-centered to the extent that it causes others to feel bad. Wait! I just read that and it so does reveal naiveté. damn!
Simple as I can make it. I am applying the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine to myself in an effort (a way way too public, for my own tastes) to demonstrate the efficacy of the aforementioned Doctrine as a tool for personal development. It certainly is doing something to me.
…to be cont’d
1) “…Ollie Ollie Oxen Free” (according to our friends at Wikipedia, means): Olly olly oxen free (and variants: ollie ollie umphrey, olly-olly-ee, ally ally in free, ally alley ocean free, etc.) is a catchphrase used in such children’s games as hide and seek to indicate that players who are hiding can come out into the open without losing the game, that the position of the sides in a game has changed, or, alternatively, that the game is entirely over. It is thought to derive from the phrase “All ye, all ye ‘outs’ in free,”,”All the outs in free” or possibly “Calling all the ‘outs’ in free;” in other words: all who are “out” may come in without penalty. (goes out to Kristi… at at ‘Thankful me‘ and, of course, zoe at re-written)
2) Semi-Tough a rather funny (in a Blazing Saddles kind of way) book by Dan Jenkins..
nuff said… what he said… now lets have some toast.
did you hurt someone’s feelings? I very highly doubt this. did I miss an entry?
Let’s have some TEXAS TOAST!
jnyhfh

I should provide a photo of my current idea of toast (there must be something badly wrong with me, as) if the toast is not actually producing breadsmoke then I think it’s under-cooked! lol
I’ll try to get a photo of tomorrow.
After reading the idea of texas toast I was thinking if I new of any others besides French toast and googled it…Who knew???… yeah work is a bit more manageable today….

Hey! Number Two! burnt toast…see, I’m not that weird.
Hell no!
Burnt, blackened is the only way to go!
No hurt feelings. Just playing by the rules.
Kristi
…er about those rules, if you happen to have them, I’d love to get a copy…seeing how I tend to alternate between: ‘rules? who follows rules’ and ‘rules? yeah!! lets make some up’
one more slight difference between rogers and clarks: (for a roger) rules are an enhancement of (the) process/ life (for a clark) rules are a limitation that risks diminution of possibility
…er scotts rules pretty much are on an instinctual level
Good good :) Sunshine’s back.
Lizzi
I know you didn’t just refer to me as sunshine… that would be just downright…mean
lol
