Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Very productive, enjoyable Afternoon Special this Thursday past… the participationer-ettes were: Cyndi and Molly and Denise and me your Host? Guide? (nah too rogerian) Leader? (yeah, right at least not yet), Narrator? (hmm getting warm)… local-native-guide-who-it-turns-out-is-not-native-but-a-castaway-who-has-almost-given-up-hope-of-returning-to-civilzation. Perfect!
“…but what about the person who is a loner as opposed to being an outsider….there are distinct and characteristic rhythms to the conversations between: clarks and clarks; clarks and scotts and clarks and rogers… (we talked about) distinguishing between a strong roger and a scott…about the territoriality of scotts…we talked about the fullness-to-the-point-of-being-distracting of time within the minds of a clark…we laughed about how clarks are meanly accused of ‘being stuck-up’ and snobby or even arrogant…”
One significant new bit of information: as clarks abhor being the center-of-attention-without-control (i.e. getting their photos taken, their voices recorded and/or being video-taped); rogers, in their worldview, find the concept of ‘being ill-prepared’ as being totally antithetical to everything they are and do… we’re working on what scotts find totally abhorrent in their predominant worldviews.
Good work everyone!
What makes us all escited here, is that we are ‘seeing’ farther and farther into the realties of the scotts and rogers. …no! it is a big deal. Did you not hear the thing that we say about inferring the worldview of the other person? …that the goal is to be able to experience the world as the other person does? Well, we did! You must not have been listening, you got them ears way down the side of your face…you got no ears on your cheeks at all!
(lol*)
Serially, it is a good thing. As Cyndi often says…like learning a language, practice pronunciation, learn the vocabulary but eventually, if you are going to speak the language like a native then you gots to put on them serapes, go down to the tsentráĺnaya plóshchad́ and chill with the brothers You know what I mean, jellybean?
But today is Sunday and you totally need to be out there with your: family at church, friends waking up (and hoping you recognize the person in bed with you), your dog who has waited the entire week to spend some active daylight hours with you, your wife who wants to tell you that despite how stressed she has been acting in the week, today is the day of the week that makes it all worthwhile, your son who just wants to know that everyone doesn’t mind that he stays in his room most of the day, knowing that he doesn’t have to join in the Easter celebrations, your husband who hopes you know that doing nothing all day, in the middle and the midst of you and the kids doesn’t make it a boring weekend…it is the whole point of going to work, your friends who don’t realize how difficult it can be for you sometimes, but somehow manage to not miss being there at the right time
Now…git!
So this week: Thursday 3:30 be there or be commonly and to some sense, albeit a metaphorical sense, possessed of but, more importantly characterized as being comprised of an excess of planes at 90 degrees to each other.
