Controversial Post on Sexuality and the Wakefield Doctrine Cancelled!! (‘what I would have given to have been a fly on the window for that meeting, whispers an unidentified roger’)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

The Doctrine is zooming along the road to significance-hood, with an occasional horrifying veer off the road, through some bushes, straight across someone’s lawn (with one of the back-and-forth sprinklers on), barely missing the ‘breezeway’, into the neighbor’s backyard, through their clothes line and back on the road…all the while picking up speed!
Today’s Title refers to a recent project involving the active Readers here at the Doctrine. The Project was nothing less than an attempt to learn more by proposing an idea so outlandish that the only reasonable option was to try to re-phrase the thesis (that the Wakefield Doctrine can account for, in a useful and insightful manner, the way each of the three personality types manifest sexuality), in the hopes that a cogent theory would appear. Totally yeoman’s effort by all of the participants!

The thing of it is, the benefit and value of this exercise was not, as a clark might perceive it, totally in the final outcome, ‘the Answer’. We can appreciate, through the rogerian perspective, that the effort to engage in the process is what conveys the lasting value (of this project). This is, as all Readers will recognize, in keeping with the rogerian worldview, wherein the experience and sharing of a process, forms the basis of a lasting and more permanent tradition, the creation of (a) history, if you will.
And our scottian element (in this project) also demonstrated how the enthusiasm that is one of the defining characteristics of this worldview lent itself quite well to the ‘hell! who cares if this is grounded in fact, it just feels like fun…lets run with it!!!’
Finally, the clarklike members of the team were all, ‘err wait, before I commit to an answer, lets tre-phrase the question, and maybe I need to argue my case a little louder…” But, as those of you familiar with the Wakefield Doctrine will recognize, the creative drive of the clark had to be there to have a new, what do you want to know??! question to start with”.

As FOTD Mel used to say in his previous blog ( Spatula in the Wilderness), ‘onwards and upwards’.
The metaphorical car of the Wakefield Doctrine is safely back on the interstate… the scotts, all tuckered out, are asleep in the back seat, the rogers in the front passenger seat are comfortable re-folding the maps and organizing the glove compartment* and the clarks, feeling like progress has been made, drive on, their characteristic compressed-lips smile replaced with something more…open, confident ..like they were enjoying the feeling of the thought “hey this is not so bad!’

* betcha thats an archaic term

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Nice clip. Even though that’s a simple three-chord bluegrass progression, each of those guys is an absolute Jedi master of their instrument. Good music for careening through backyards to, but how old do you have to be to make reference to a ‘ clothesline”?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol funny you should say that, in the first draft* I did one of my ‘now famous’ asterix joke on that word, something to the effect of the clothes dryer with no moving parts and totally green (or something to that effect… could see potential, ran out of time)

jedi indeed! my favorite is, of course, Albert (Lee) what a clark! (can hear the Director on his mic during the performance, “pan away!! what the hell is that guy smiling about? no, I don’t think he is talking to himself… bit was is he staring into space??!)

      * meaning during the one and only allowable ‘backspace event’ that passes for careful editing, re-writing and final polish, lol

    Cancelled? What the hell?

lol it is true… the count came in, the tally was tallied, ballots were carefully read and cohabited… so the word is off with the header!

  3. Cyndi says:

I definitely like the portrayal of the clarks “driving on feeling like progress has been made” – yep, I definitely measure my “progress” on so many things, all the time. Interesting post. :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Thank you, Cyndi! I totally enjoy hearing resonance from (fellow) clarks.

… and the thing about driving, we almost always manage to be in the drivers seat, even if (and especially) if the others believe that they are in control.

…I will Post tomorrow, but tomorrow being Saturday, that means one thing Wakefield Doctrine’s Saturday Night Drive Call-in! fun-strange-interesting and educational! (how can we miss?)

I just read the whole blurb you have on clarks. OMG…I MUST have knowledge. I went back to school, have the equivalent of three bachelor’s degrees and half of a master’s degree – but then I decided it wasn’t worth it. I’d really rather learn everything else on my own time and not be put into a damned box. So…let’s see…so far TODAY, I’ve learned some new blogging tricks, some HTML code, some photography tricks, and I took a short nap after daydreaming about the summertime and how it’s so much warmer…and I’m ALWAYS thinking…I can’t turn my brain off. It’s constant…and yes, the world is hostile. I struggled with teaching. Oh, I could put on the “extroverted, happy face” but it’s hard going out into the big bad world. At least working at home is much more stress free. Part of being a writer is dealing with criticism and I have yet to figure out how to handle it with more grace, but eh…it doesn’t happen that often, so I’ll deal. :) I think clarks also like finding out about themselves…I am fascinated.

“clarks also like finding out about themselves”

in a way, it’s all about finding out about ourselves… were we absent the day in school when they gave the instructions on how to be a normal, happy, relate-to-each-other and not-weird like? lol

we have a saying around the Doctrine (no!?! lol) ‘clarks think, scotts act and rogers feel’

but, maybe to make up for the weirdness, we are the truly creative (of the three)…steep price to pay, but lol

  5. Downspring#1 says:

Yes, clarks are gluttons for “knowing”. The unadulterated ones (clarks) don’t seem to have sufficient appetite for the acoutrements that often come from “knowing” 500 bajillion trillion things. Which is why I find the Doctrine so valuable. Slowly but surely I’ve come closer to locating the “glutton button” for “external success”!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

please! not gluttons, lets be joie de la connaissance -erers and erini! lol

(thanks to Bing and google translator… learn the whole language?!? but I only need a couple of words! )
