Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine ( the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
This Saturday’s ‘Saturday Night Drive’ found DS#1, progenitor roger and Ms. AKH in attendance.
In the course of the conversation we decided that the Doctrine needed to expand our appeal to bring in the masses. This, of course, took us to the topic of popular culture and how we might frame the Wakefield Doctrine in terms that anyone could relate to and, therefore get something of value. Unfortunately, some of us have sort of not been glued to our TVs and iPhones and iPads and iMagazines and iFriends and subsequently we had a difficult time finding topics of a pop culture nature upon which to apply the Doctrine. ( I will spare you the gruesome details of the conversation…suffice it to say, mention of ‘the WB’ evoked “yeah!! Road Runner!!” and all efforts to find a ‘movie’ that everyone had seen found us solidly on the leading edge of the 1990s!)
So the decision was made to try to see if we couldn’t use ‘the youtube’ to download interviews of famous/popular actors and actresses and edit some Commentary on top of….
Fortunately we did one of these Commentary on Interviews already. But no one in the car could remember it…so here it is again.
An Interview of Kristen Stewart on the Regis (“no, he’s not dead!”) Philbin and Kelly Ripa… the captioning is a bit rough, but you should get the idea.
Good clip there. Much a buzz a week or so ago about Kristen and her green and yellow Balenciaga pants. Yes, clarklike females dabble in couture although I would not consider those 1k pants couture. LOL (Balenciaga? not a favorite)
Anywho…. since we are on the topic of clarklike females……it hit me this morning. I would bet any amount of money (real or imagined) that clarklike females with hair longer than shoulder length at some point pile it (the many and long hairs) high on top ‘o their heads. And not always so daintily (sp?) – more messy, in a more of a “yes, its’ supposed to look like this” way. And pretty much it is one of those things that just happens. No great thought of how to wind this to curl around that and fall just so right….there. Sometimes “weird” hair just happens. Now, why would this thought pop into my head?! Because this morning I found myself unconsciously throwing the hairs on my head up and around (and all around) then looking in the mirror and thinking “huh, doesn’t look bad”. STOP IT! NO LAUGHING! I released it and put it in a more conventional loose ponytail a la Audry Hepburn circa 1956. How boring.
Today, on this Memorial Day, I remember my many “hair styles” of days gone by (sigh)
