FTS…(r, nah..3?..nuh-uh tree(getting warm) I know!) F! the Wakefield Doctrine yeah, it’s gonna be that kinda Post

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

fish

you know what the problem with clarks, (and the ‘answer’ to Complete the Sentence today?), is? it’s that we are all, frickin Biblical, in our outlook on Life. Wait, wait!  no, before you rogers think, ‘isn’t he being so coyly provocative, how typical’  or scotts laugh,  ‘alright! he said ‘fuck!’.. no, no he didn’t! fuck tha-click”  or you clarks smile to yourselves* and think, ‘oh, I see what he’s doing here… cute‘ Stop reacting like that keep reading, we know, that you know, that by ‘Biblical’ we mean:

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in sæcula sæculorum. Amen.  ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doxology )

so not only do we have to hope for: an accident, trauma, late for class and have to sit in a different seat next to that girl you would never have the nerve to talk to, cover for your boss and do the work that you have been doing for him all along, but in front of everyone…call your physician at 2:00am, even though she said not to worry and just wait until the morning, answer that email from ‘www.yourdreamiswaitinghere.com with the firm resolve that ‘that’s it, no more trying’, we go through life trying, as best we can, to find the life we believe we should have.  But! when change does occur,  it’s not like we have trouble accepting  the new situation ….(haven’t we spent most of our lives dreaming of just this thing happening?). No, that’s not the Biblical problem we all contend with,  it’s accepting the change/improvement/new outlook as part of our life, that’s the difficult part, letting go of the past ways.

Everything resists change, we humans, however,  resist the benefits and improvements that (some) changes offer. It’s like we’re way hungry, and we have a fishing pole and our line is in the water and we wait…and we grow hungrier  and we dream of the sumptuous meal of Gadus morhua  surrounded by roast potatoes and some nice vegetables and a refreshing beverage and, …and!  in the middle of our dream the fishing reel starts spinning like mad and we have a bite! and we work and work and fight, to reel it in, and it almost escapes, and we get it back and finally, with a heroic last effort we pull it on shore,  and we’re like…. what the hell?!!  this isn’t right!! I wanted Cod Fish! and I kick the still living and still fighting fish right back into the water.

Thank you to Janine  and Kate and Stephanie and Kristi for the virtual chalkboard-in-the-empty-classroom as I walk down the hallway

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

totally agree and yet, why, when we look back, do we resist the change that we (think we are) hoping for?

  6. Agree Clark…changes are hard to accept, but then without changes man would not have progressed so far…

    TGIF!

  7. zoe says:

    I think Im missing how “…world without end…” is a clark viewpoint… biblical…hmmmmm….

Change though… man sometimes ya gotta GIVE someone a fish or else they are gonna starve to death as you try to teach them to fish for themselves (change takes time.)…but even a clark can do it eh????

Change IS good and sucky. Also had a big old chuckle at the beginning. Because, well, fuck. I said fuck.

  10. jasteck says:

I don’t mind change as much as I used to…maybe because I don’t sweat the small stuff as much. Change also means a new adventure and I’m game for that. I hate to be bored…
