“…and the 22nd TMT Award goes to!” the Wakefield Doctrine (a little, well-deserved break from our compiling of Assessment Questions)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

The-Tell-Tale-Heart-007

A day’s break from the work of coming up with 20 Questions for the Wakefield Doctrine Assessment Test. What better way to recharge our batteries than to participate in Jen Kehl’s Twisted MixTape Tuesday? Aided by the able-bodied Kristi, the TMT Tuesday is usually a wonderfully refreshing exploration of songs and music, familiar and un-familiar. This week, well! Our Hostinae have decided that the theme of the our selections is to be….lets have Missy Jen tell us:

This week’s them on Twisted MixTape Tuesday is: You are the biggest jerk ever for breaking my heart OR I am the biggest jerk ever for breaking your heart and I’m sorry.

Jen Kehl

Twisted MixTape 22

..oh shit, following are 4 songs. 2 are for the breakee and 2 for the breaker…whatever the hell that means…

She’s Gone – Hall & Oates

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drown in My Own Tears – Johnny Winter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

…ok  theres the music for the breakee now for the breaker of hearts (or ‘fuck you! you can’t break up with me! you think it’s gonna be that easy?!’)

Hey Joe – Jimi Hendrix

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVxvMBtD5Sw

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stranglehold – Ted Nugent
Well that was refreshing!  Thanks for stopping by, I think we all agree that some emotional experiences are best wrapped in newspapers and burlap, tied with a thick, hemp rope, put in a wooden box, with the lid nailed shut with hand-wrought nails and buried deep in a hole, in the back part of the cellar, you know…the way that all healthy, normal people deal with the inevitable and painful, yet life affirming and character-building life-event that is ‘the break-up’.
Wait!  a damn minute!  as I read the other Posts I am reminded that our theme this week can be amusing…you know, the person that your life is centered on decides otherwise. Plus an amusing video wouldn’t hurt! …so here is the fifth song.
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one
Comments
  1. Johnny….Johnny…one of my most favorite songs… Damn! His musical phrasing is….just so……
  2. Thanks for that last song – I was about to leave your post in utter depression. :) Also. It’s a good thing I haven’t been able to make it to a Sunday Brunch yet. Seems like you guys don’t want any Clarkgers hanging around. ;)
      Tracy
      you totally have me wanting you to join us! (the reason for this is kind of a fairly technical Doctrine principle)… but yes, the Train song is fun…I almost forgot about the funny aspects of a life being torn apart.*
      *lol
  3. Dream says:
    I’ll admit that I’m a closet Hall & Oates fan (shh, don’t tell anyone) and the song you chose is one of my favorites. The next three guitar greats on your list fit right in with rocker sensibilities. But the Train song…perfect ending. Fantastic mixtape this week!
      thanks… I will (also) admit that at the time of the song I was not a fan of Hall & Oates..it was the classic (and horrifying in it’s underlying implications) Pavlov I was driving aimlessly after the girl of my dreams dumped me (where would we be without our cars?… I suppose one could walk aimlessly..lol) and a song came on the radio and like a sexy and sadistic barnacle the tune encapsulated my emotions… much to my dismay.
  4. Have to love Hall and Oates, Clark. Love that number!
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      yeah, this song (for me) is the perfect example of the inadvertant ‘linking’ of a song to a strong emotion. Didn’t plan on always liking this song, it just happened that it came on the car radio at a time of heightened emotion…totally locked in my head.
  5. I love that Train song. The video crack me up.
    Great list!
      Kelly
      seriously, any video that has Peter Hasselhof… it’s got to be good… love the mariachi band in the aisle
  6. troy P. says:
    2 things.
    1) I never realized that Hall and Oates were actually speaking about their hair dresser and, 2) I had no idea today was going to involve so many grocery stores…
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      Troy
      Dude!! say it ain’t so! they were so speaking to my pain! lol (Mariachi in Aisle 6, please!)
  7. Lance says:
    much needed testosterone and fist pumping needed this week.
    *fistbump*
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      Lance
      lol yeah… Hendrix and Nugent restores our necessary… balance! (love the live version of ‘Hey Joe’…lol)
  8. And another cheating lover bites the dust! Hey Joe!
  9. christine says:
    Clark!! My Man!!! You put Train in your post!!! My family loves Train. And this song most especially. If someone is listening to music and it comes on, the child cranks it up and the entire family stops what we’re doing to sing and dance to it. My oldest even put the entire album on my phone for me for my birthday. And, I saw them in concert, which only makes me love them more.
    When I played the video just now, my youngest (the only child home) came to sit on my lap and sang it. (OK, some may say this song isn’t appropriate for a just-turned 4 year old, but I don’t care.)
      it’s funny about this song, my ‘normal’ listening habits tends to the other selections, but since the begining of my Music Project last year, I have the local top 40 station preset. The song is simply fun to listen to…and the video.. I love a band that (in a video) can have fun with the song. (the kids kicking the head around the yard in the last minute of the vid is pretty good too, lol)
  10. JenKehl says:
    A. Am I not ablebodied?
    2. I was going to put Hey Joe on my list! But I didn’t want people to think I would actually kill my ex. And by people I mean him, if he ever googles himself.
    C. Thank you so much for Train. I love that song and it has been off my radar AND now my son has already made up his own words, something like Baby Baby we better get married. (how’s that for getting it all wrong)
    Awesomeness. For real. I’m thinking eaten by a Lion.
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      Jen
      (the more intriguing question: given how I included both you and Kristi in my ‘imaginary history’… which one of you would have dumped me (and) which one would I have been the bastard to?)
      yeah Jimi (you being a fan…I was thinking as I smiled when Jimi did one of his unique hammer-on accompaniments in the first few bars…I’ll get the time on the video, but I know you would have caught it)
  11. Ah, a man after my own heart. Yes, let’s seal those painful memories up and hide them in the dark recesses of our closets! And Whoot to the Johnny song! And Train!
    Hm. Interesting question to Jen about which one of us would have been the dumpee and which the dumper. Verrry interesting. What do YOU think?
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      Kristi!
      you and I both know that you and I know the answer…the question is, (as always), who wants to go first. But since I know that you are… who you are, I will go first and then you can correct or confirm our answer: Jen would dump me and you would hope to be but (you would wait patiently, hoping that I would work up the nerve) I would be the breaker upper.
      (although, once I did that said that we were breaking up…something that you were hoping for, the emotional turntable would shift and you would be all, ‘the fuck you are! I’m breaking up with you!’ (and you would be putting on this display to make me ‘feel better’.)
      close or not even in the ballpark?… (I trust everyone else has already made the rounds and so this won’t be as weird a Comment as it probably is*)
      *nah, it’s as weird as most of my Comments**
      ** lol
  12. Phew, I’m glad you ended 50 ways to say good bye Otherwise I would have Nugent nightmares
    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:
      Kerri
      lol
      it’s funny, I’m not a huge fan of the Motor City Madman..but this song just has been my favorite Ted song (the guitar player, not the lecture series)
  13. Donetta says:
    Awesome list!! I love ‘Hey Joe’ especially the lyric about all the neighbors stop to gossip and stare. I love Train and this is a great pick. The first two, I’ll have to check out.
