Friday -the Wakefield Doctrine- ‘weekend wrap-up’

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Not to squander Grats (lol*) but shout-out to Mimi an Frank, Misky and Reelika for commentationing that provided an evolving context for presenting the principles of the Wakefield Doctrinem as well as shining a bit of light on the potential paths forward for both our current Serial Sixes.

running way, way, way behind on today’s post.

The Wakefield Doctrine is an additional perspective on the world around us (and the people who make it up). The three ‘personality types’ are representations of the character of one’s relationship to the world. These are established at the earliest stages of life and they, (the personality types), are manifestations of the individual’s development, given the world as they experience it. The three types are: clarks (the Outsider), scotts (the Predator) and rogers (the Herd Members) and are with us for life.

With the insights available from being able to determine another person’s characteristic relationship (with Life) we are able to better see the world as another person is experiencing it.

Each of the three types, referred to as ‘predominant worldviews’ have a character distinct from the other two. None hold exclusive domain over any skills, habits, insights, strengths or weaknesses.

The Wakefield Doctrine is gender and culture neutral.

The insights from studying and applying the principles of the Doctrine can be helpful if we are inclined to try to better understand ourselfs. They are also totally fun when trying to understand other people.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Frank Hubeny says:

Three types do seem to be the right number. The scotts and rogers balance each other and the clarks cover everything else.

thanks for the reminder… at times in the beginning of the blog I spent a fair amount of time writing about the interdependencies of the three… should try and recapture that thread

  2. It’s certainly fun, especially knowing the few scotts in my life.

I find it quite helpful… the little things like how when a scott gets mad at you, remaining quiet for just the right amount of time allows it to blow over and things can continue without drama
