Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
This is the Wakefield Doctrine’s weekly contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) bloghop. Each week we invite all in sight of our words to join us on this exercise in cultivating (the state of) gratitude. The rules are simple: write a post that includes a ‘list’ of ten~ items consisting of the people, places and things that have inspired, suggested, incited and otherwise gave you an elbow-in-the-ribs to notice that they (the people, places and things) of your life weren’t nearly as bad, dangerous, sad or evocative of the safety of bed full of quilts and comforters, as the nasty/negative voice in many of our minds sometimes hear. ya know?
But we digress. The ranks of Hostinae (we thought about a capital ‘R’ for the word ranks but thought it might be a bit much. (Like that ever happens here at the Doctrine! lol). And…and!! While the linkz boilerplate at the bottom is out of date, allow us the Pleasure of introducing the two newest hostinae, Cai and Knitcat.
1) Phyllis
2) Una
3) the Wakefield Doctrine
4) the Six Sentence Story this week’s selection (go read, comment and, as always, tell ’em the Doctrine sent ya.)
5) Wish I could still write as funny… A line from our WIP ‘the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf an Ian Devereaux mystery:“ kinda cracked me up:
“Is there room in there for me?” Leanne’s morning contralto cut through the rain-hiss of the shower heads like Joe Cocker at an elementary school Christmas pageant.
6) Reached the river/stream (photo at top of Post) with the clearing project that was made possible by the bridge completion project (see last week’s TToT)
7) mowed the front meadow
8) something, something
9) showed a house today, 21st C style with a video link to Buyers on vacay in Iceland. fun
10) Secret Rule 1.3

I like both the list and the introduction. The meadow is a completely different place when mowed.
ikr? I’m fond of the wheat/hay clumps or whatever they are.. will be interesting next spring
Its a great feeling to have a neat front meadow and tidy extended backyard.
Linky works with G sign-in.
Thank you for the shout-out.
certainly, thank you for joining us in this adventure
Thank you.
The river view is gorgeous: restful and tranquil. Does it flow all year long?
All the best to you for the first week of September.
year ’round, it’s the source of the pond that you see in the bridge pitchas… the original builders (of the pond) did a natural earthen lock thing (a channel from the river to the pond that if the river lowers (in drought) then the pond is isolated but in floods, there are areas for the pond to flow out to… pretty clever design and still works after 55 years or so
same to you and them
That was a funny line. Personally, I’d lay blame with my characters, lol
21st century style. No doubt an advantage.
Last mow before, ya know… that time of year.
Good work on recruiting more co-hosts. Thankful to see more participation.
