welcome to the wakefield doctrine the theory of clarks scotts and roger
this is the wakefield doctrines weekly contribution to the ten things of thankful bloghop
little did our founderess, lizzi realize when she created this blohop, back in 1993 that the world of rhetoric and grammar might be subject to changes similar to those being experienced by the world at large i.e. global warming and the toxic diminution of uppercase letters, most punctuation and the loss of all characters requiring the shift key.
the wakefield doctrine is adaptable if nothing else
long recognized as being gender neutral, culture neutral and age neutral, adapting to a lack of grammar and syntax is a walk in the park
so lets lets look over the imaginary shoulder of a ttot participant in a future year, say 2029, as they fashion a post listing the ten things that cause them to feel grateful.
1 phyllis
2 una
3 the wakefield doctrine
4 the six sentence story
5 technology even at the price of grammar, syntax and the patience of readers
6 six sentence cafe and bistro
7 work that is varied and not rote, interesting with enough stress to remind me to never stop trying to self-improve ourselfs
8 funny how much difference the shift key makes. no wonder the powers that were coopted the lives and treasure of generations of serfs in the years between 500 and 1600 ad until guttenberg showed up and put them monks out of business
9 something, something
10 secret rule 1.3
music
indeed, walk in the proverbial park
a ttot is a ttot
succinct and brief as demanded by the times, it is no less appreciated and applauded
Work that carries such a reminder is very much a blessing.
I agree
Informative!
Thanks Reena, the TToT is the longest running bloghop for us at the Doctrine… interesting exercise and fun too
And you will always top my gratitude list.
Thank you
Your #8 reminded me of when I was trying to decipher the handwriting of my Great Great Grandfather. He wrote a journal on foolscap paper about 1870 and there was very little punctuation and capitalization in it. As I recall, there were 32 pages a little larger than legal size paper. What a challenge! That being said, I am grateful he took the time to write about his life. They opened a view into his life that I otherwise would have never known.
#7 Makes so much difference when one has a job that allows a person to grow and is never boring
