Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Getting an early start on this week’s Ten Things of Thankful (TToT) post, as indicated by the photo above (taken Friday afternoon). Lets make that Grat Item #4 (and the clock on the wall, Grat #5)
This is, of course, the Wakefield Doctrine’s contribution to the TToT for the week of the 20-can’t-be-already-th of November. The only good thing about this is that next week has at least one post already written, the traditional Wakefield Doctrine T-Giving Feast-of-Saint-Roger’s-Day re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-print.
(Didn’t check the dates, we trust we have enough ‘re’s to account for the passage of time.)
1) Una
2) Phyllis
3) the Wakefield Doctrine
4) (Photo at top of post): an office with a window, Ola on the desktop of computer 1 and interesting work.
5) thanks out to Zoe for the gift of a clock that reflects a world in which time is the master but not the judge.
6) Six Sentence Story for micro-literati indulgencing (No, not a real term)
7) serial writing (for diversion and self-improvementation) in the (current) form of ‘the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf‘ and ‘the Whitechapel Interlude‘
8) Lifting chain-sawed tree sections…. (before photos below of un-chain-sawed tree trunk… check back, later in the morning for the after photos)
(before)
(after)
9) something, something
10) Secret Rule 1.3. “…you know, write as big a list of grat items, accurately conforming to the theme… but! if you need to divert from the time-worn path, just cite chapter and verse and everything will be fine”. (Book of Secret Rules (aka Secret Book of Rules Introduction and Chapter 1))

Time is what it is, how we measure it is up to us. Those clocks always make me smile.
That’s a whole lotta sawing going on.
hey! I agree… but what’s up with clarks having such a reliable inner clock? as in ‘Hey Mimi tell me when 34 minutes have elapsed’ or ‘We gots to get up at 5:37′
Alarms and watches? We don’ need no steenkin alarms or watches!
Nice progress on the landscaping project.
Thank you.
Monday morning Mozart, Jacques style anyone? :D
I’m with Mimi – that is a lot of sawing! You certainly have a feeling of great satisfaction to see the area finally absent of big tree parts.
#5 is certainly a most awesome gift. Makes me smile every time I see it in a post.
Being able to see Ola as a screen saver at work is a nice way to relax. Una meantime appears to be Face Timing you.
Having documentation of all your efforts on your property will at the very least impress you in your later years with thoughts like, “How in the world did we accomplish all that work!” I know you are probably thinking that already, but you may feel even more so in a few years down the road. It is looking great.
Wishing you and Phyllis a great Thanksgiving.
For sure… (the future look back)… It is helpful as I work to counteract the ‘Why not act your age?’ lol
