Friday -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

The Wakefield Doctrine is a perspective on the world around us and the people who make it up. As (a) perspective, it is a tool of many uses; to better understand ourselves, to better understand others and any combination thereof. It is available to us for a very simple, but some might argue, high price. The cost of, (the benefits), of the Wakefield Doctrine is the utter certainty that the world is as we see it. In other words, we are required to exchange, ‘that simply is how the world is’ for ‘I wonder how else the world might express itself?’

The Wakefield Doctrine proposes that we, all of us, are born with the potential to experience the world from one of three unter-basic perspectives, that of the:

  1. Outsider(clarks)
  2. Predator(scotts)
  3. Herd Members(rogers)

At a very early age, we settle into one, (of the three), worldviews and grow and mature, all the while developing social skills and strategies, personal styles and inner strengths, (you, know, our personality), appropriate to the character of the reality we are in.

It is at this point, in exploring the Wakefield Doctrine, that the price, (of the benefits of this peculiar tool), comes due. We are not saying you have to agree or believe this description of the reality of the very new human. All that is required is a willingness to allow for it. Well, one other thing is necessary, the personal inclination to indulge in a robust imagination. Everything else, remarkably, follows from that.

Learn some of the characteristics and qualities, features and intricacies, quirks and styles of the three personality types, aka the three predominant worldviews, and you will have some fun and learn some interesting shit about the world and the people who make it up.

BTW, when you learn the three, you’ll recognize yourself first. But then, you’ll be, all, “Wait! I’m not just one! I’m some kind of mutation!”

You’re just one. Don’t worry. It’s normal. We retain the potential of ‘the other two’ and they, (the other two), sometimes expresses, most often when under duress. Rest assured that it is possible to have a secondary aspect that is noticeable.

So, that’s the quick ‘Tear flap for your new perspective. No returns or exchanges’

PS: Hey! Forget why, exactly, but I had to look up something from Alice in Wonderland. Very funny:

…this time she found a little bottle on it, (`which certainly was not here before,’ said Alice,) and round the neck of the bottle was a paper label, with the words `DRINK ME’ beautifully printed on it in large letters.

Alice taking “Drink Me” bottle

It was all very well to say `Drink me,’ but the wise little Alice was not going to do that in a hurry. `No, I’ll look first,’ she said, `and see whether it’s marked “poison” or not’; for she had read several nice little histories about children who had got burnt, and eaten up by wild beasts and other unpleasant things, all because they would not remember the simple rules their friends had taught them: such as, that a red-hot poker will burn you if you hold it too long; and that if you cut your finger very deeply with a knife, it usually bleeds; and she had never forgotten that, if you drink much from a bottle marked `poison,’ it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later.  courtesy of them fine folks, down to Carnegie Mellon University

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one
