TToT -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

One of my trips, back in the day, when I’d go to Salt Lake City for a business event.

This is the weekly installment of the bloghop-that-Lizzi-created, the Ten Things of Thankful. Our host is Kristi and she extends a welcome and invitation to all who might encounter this here post here, to spend some time reading and, if so moved, writing a TToT post. Which, by virtue of a Secret Book of Rules, (aka Book of Secret Rules) is a task that returns more than than the effort required.

Ten things, (plus / minus or square-rooted), that have caused us to feel/experience the state of gratitude.

Pretty simple, isn’t it?

welll  now that you go and say that, about those secret rules. lol (no, New Readers, nothing bad… just a little joke about our resident eccentric participle, the aforementioned Wakefield Doctrine.)

1) Phyllis

2) Una

3) Tree project! In the interest of resisting the inexorable pull of Gravity and, it’s buddy (the-one-kid-you-knew-who-had-a-driver’s-license-first-and-somehow-made-bad-ideas-sound-iresistible), Time, I’ve decided to cable our leaning tree to a nearby healthy tree. This, to better preserve one of the many things that make the woods so much fun. (It-will-probably-come-out better-than-that-time-we-went-joy-riding-with-his-parent’s-car.)

“I know! What could possibly go wrong?”

4) Serials. Two sorta separate serial stories. Ian Devereaux in ‘the Case of the Missing Fig Leaf‘ and ‘the Whitechapel Interlude’ (from the Order of Lilith Books)

5) Random Grats (Sounded great in my head. Generate random times of day, program alarm in phone, take pictures when it goes off. That sounds like fun, right?) Photo 1:

6) Random didn’t work! When the second alarm went off I was in the middle of a meeting with two other agents, took picture, erased picture… something not quite right. (This reaction was an excellent illustration/demonstration of the difference in the personal realities of clarks, scotts and rogers. lol… yes, the Doctrine can tell you more about the other person than you have any right to otherwise know. Example: Go to a summer gathering (well, back in the olden here-hold-my-plate-everyone-wants-a-group-photo days)… say you’re a guest of a person who knows who everyone is, you do not. Want to find the clarks, real quick and easy? Find a group photo, the person taking the photos is your clark. New Readers? Lots more where that came from… just dig through the older posts.

7) Saturday Night Call-in (yeah, we’re still doing those!) Denise and Cynthia called and we had a most enjoyable conversation. Talked Doctrine, found examples of use for everyone’s favorite personality theory and had fun. You should stop in some Saturday night.

8) Six Sentence Story Where the stories can fit in your pocket and they’re all made up of scenes and ideas and visuals like Lemon Wafers or Pecan Sandies…. you don’t encounter them often, but when you do, you put ’em somewhere to enjoy later.

9) THIS SPACE AVAILABLE

10) Secret Rule 1.3 Because, as we all suspected when we were children, just realizing that our lives were unduly influenced by adults, the most powerful Rules are the secret ones.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Love the Saturday night call ins. So fun to talk “shop.” haha.
Oh and Phyllis’ car? Ima need me one of those one of these days. 😂 I’m grateful for that photo. Haha.

The Mini is a perfect car for the weekend.
Thank you for the reminder that our little piece of reality is indeed magical.

Oh those tree projects. One doesn’t consider what the future may hold when planting little tree seedlings, or just letting young seedlings grow where they sprout. It looks like the anchor tree has its work cut out for him.
In defense of your Random Grats idea. . .sounds like a great idea, well except for the alarm going off in the middle of a meeting. :-)
After reading the rest of #6, I looked around and realized there was a Clark in the midst, or at least part Clark. HaHa

Glad you mention that (the part about Grat Six)… I’m getting back to writing more posts about the Doctrine and its interesting (and challenging) to remember that a good percentage of readers of my blog were not around when the blog was new and there was, like, a post-a-day about the principles of the Wakefield Doctrine, how-tos quizzes and such.
To your point, using the description ‘at least part Clark, which is a very good jumping off point for tomorrow’s post.
(All of us are one of the three, yet all of us never lose the potential of the other two. This potential can have a negligible influence or it can be quite significant. Example: I am a clark (my predominant worldview is that of the Outsider aka clarks) yet I have a significant secondary scottian aspects and a minor tertiary rogerian aspect. I might appear scottian under certain circumstances but my reality is that of a clark.)
      good oberservationing*

      * not a ‘real’ word

  4. The ears! Great picture!
Last night’s call in was very enjoyable. Never not a learning experience :)
    #10 So very true.

  5. Love your description of Sixes as pecan sandies, a favorite i just don’t see often enough.

Of course i am taking the photo, not being in it. Neither of my two youngest kids understand that at all.
