TTo(9)T(een)* -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

‘Una and the future ghost of Christmas Past’

Why the ‘Year of the Un-Balanced’? Just say it out loud… in two syllables… ‘Twenty Nineteen‘  See what I mean?

Thanks to Kristi for startin out the year’s Grats. It is no small task to organize and ride Herd over an increasing number of Gratiticients.** here at the Ten Things of Thankful.

One New Year’s Resolution I chose not to make this year: be concise, to the point and leave the flights of fancy on the desk top/internet/ home. Following is a list of things for which I am thankful.

1)  At Number One for the nth post running: Phyllis and Una. (Phyllis is the quilt. Una is Una)

2) the Wakefield Doctrine. sine qua non, binyons, sine qua non.

3) ‘Almira’  Approaching what I believe is the stage during which I arrange a beta read. Anyone out there with experience and/or knowledge of this part of the process of book writing, I would appreciate any input.

4) the Gravity Challenge:  val and kristi and may and joy and sometimes lisa have rocked the gravity well of this here planet here for the last …. year(s). It’s fun and beneficial and we just happen to be in the middle of the annual membership drive. So come on down!

5) the Six Sentence Story this is a blog hop that you really should stop by and check out. (I would maintain that everyone reading this not only enjoys writing, but look for ways to improve they skills…. at wordation. The Six Sentence Story is sorta like one of those open book tests at the end of a semester that doesn’t go to your grade. And everyone gets to talk during the process.)

6) the Book of Secret Rules (aka the Secret Book of Rules) This Book, hidden from view from the casual passerby says, ‘if you can googlize enough faux latin ( ‘factum est autem latine‘) and use ‘[‘ and ‘}’ convincingly, you can justify any rhetorical behavior that strikes your fancy, i.e. creative license with music videos. It’s fun. You should try it.

7) THIS SPACE AVAILABLE (For anyone out there not yet to the point of submitting a full TToT post. While the rules are quite liberal (I mean, you did just read Item 6, didn’t you?!) sometimes it helps to stick a toe in the water. This, Item 7 is meant for your toe…. (yeah, not as cleverly lyrical as it was in my head). Anyway, send a Grat Item in a comment and let me know how to attribute it and I will post it here.

8) That which I do for a living. It offers variety, challenge and the opportunity to self-improve myself

9). something, something

10) Secret Rule 1.3 (See Item 6)

* too much? come on…. Its 2019, the Year of the Non-Balanced!

Six Sentences, One Story -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Through the alchemy of a workday holiday, we are, somehow, at the point in the week when a Six Sentence Story is called for.

The one doing the calling is our host, Denise. She is suggesting that we take this week’s prompt word and write a story of six and only six sentence length. For the common enjoyment of all who would engage in this exercise.

The prompt word this week is:

MATTER

Raphael awoke with a sense of something unholy, quietly brightening on the dawn’s horizon; his divinely inspired character compelled him to seek others of his kind.

“What is the matter, brother, your countenance speaks of the night, yet all is bright in this place,” of the archangels, Lucifer seemed to always be available.

“Well, you know that little project that has, of late, kept Him so distracted? It continues, even after casting them from the Garden, there are now two offspring and He seems pleased,” Raphael struggled to recall what had disturbed his sleep.

The un-naturally beautiful face of God’s favorite dimmed slightly, the spark in his eyes flaring at the thought of the new race. The Morningstar recalled how easy it was to relate to the firstborn, who, surely his mother’s son, took his suggestion to heart, “About that…”

9.5 years later…. -the Wakefield Doctrine-

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This being New(est) Year Day, on behalf of the Wakefield Doctrine, best wishes to all Readers in the coming, (and seriously non-balanced) year, 2019.

Know that the Wakefield Doctrine will be available to all those who might benefit from the experience of identifying with another person. It is an article of faith here that, by identifying with another person who has over-come a challenge, one can draw a special kind of strength. (OK, quick example, then back to the platitudes. Early in this blog there came a generation of clarks that, stumbling across this site, immediately understood what we had. More importantly, these readers extrapolated the principles and were able to apply the Doctrine in their own lifes. On the basis of the posts and comments and such. That was important. What was invaluable was when we could see other clarks experiencing certain aspects of the Outsider worldview (decidedly non-pleasant aspects) and coming through the experience. By the magic of identification, I, personally, have benefitted from seeing other clarks deal with life. So big thanks out to Lizzi and Cynthia and Denise and the other second generation Doctrinaires. Made a difference in my life, yo.)

Anyway.

This very same benefit is available to rogers and scotts, of course. For those inclined.

(Trying to encourage my rogerian aspect* I will include in our New(est) Year Day post, this quote from Blake.**)

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour

*  It is a given that, for some, the Wakefield Doctrine is useful in the effort to self-develop oneself. And, given the central idea, I look to develop my scottian secondary and rogerian tertiary to work in balance with my clarklike predominant worldview. …. Like balance is likely in 2019
