12 times 12, carry the three …the Wakefield Doctrine! (of course there’ll be an Earth, Wind & Fire video in today’s Post!)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

We have often discussed the un-tempered optimism, (and hope for  redemption on the weekend), that this last day of the workweek often engenders. But seeing as we have at least 2 new Readers this week, it might bear repeating. Fridays are good days for all three personality types:

  • (for a scott) because they managed to not get fired for….acting out, taking too much charge or the practical joke that they knew everyone would enjoy…and hey who was to know he was the CFO?
  • (for a roger) because they are able to conduct the proper transition to the weekend schedule  (hey!! someone remind me to tell the story of roger and moving…it’s very definitely an illustrative and engaging story of a common life-event, from the rogerian perspective
  • (for a clark) because the weekends are…not as defined as are weekdays, there’s a chance that something good might happen and being Friday, there’s no need to consider how unlikely it actually is for things to change in a major sort of way
  • (for a clark), there is hope-without-standards, meaning that Saturday and Sunday have potential that has not had a standard of success imposed on them… (that won’t happen until, say, 11:30 Saturday night)
  • (for a scott)… the party, which had to be restrained (ever so slightly) for the sake of keeping the job (for at least this week), is now unrestrained

hey…. let me interrupt this writing of Number 12 in my series of  30 Posts. Something funny is going on with my site….weird font stuff going on.

I’ll be back…

..ok things seem to be back to ‘normal’, fontistically-speaking in any event. I want to thank zoe and Christine for the invaluable aid and assistance in getting this matter straighten out.

so where was I?

(….oh yeah! work.  it seems, to paraphrase Mr. Floyd,  “…I find that 6 hours have got behind me”  will try to add to this here Post here while I still have a topic…i.e. Friday)

* Hey!  I want to give a shout over to the fine folks at Content Robot, totally saved the day today is all they did!  The fontcrosis that crept into the Doctrine over the last week or so (thanks to zoe for spotting it) got wicked bad this morning and so I dug out my last email to Karen and Dana (like, from 2 years ago) and asked them for a little help and next thing you know, Christine is writing and saying, ‘Hey clark, your blog is as attractive, fascinating, easy-to-understand, totally-change-a-person’s-life as it always is, looks fine!’ ( some paraphrasing applied, actual content of Comment may appear slightly differently).  Of course, being Christine, I suspect the the dust cloud from her car racing down the driveway somehow got to Dana and they totally put us on the top of the List.

Having said that… I recommend Content Robot for all your blog technical and design needs.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    WHOA! SERIOUS FONTAGE!!!!!!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah… I suspected as much… trying to get someone to fix it
…but no one will notice, right?

      lol

      • zoebyrd says:

wow… at first I was concerned that Christine had been struck blind , but did you get someone to look at it? Its back to normal!

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol now there’s an interesting question. I sent an email to a company that I used before (to put the Trademark symbol in the Title)…and simply said, ‘I have an emergency font repair that I need fixed immediately.’
I suppose when I get the $7,395.32 bill, I’ll have another Post pre-written!
lol…the things I do for you people!

          • zoebyrd says:

well , that’s just the kinda guy you are isn’t it?

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol… (cue the choir, clouds parting, maybe a dove or two or…. a couple of woodland animals….)
what an uncomfortable feeling…. to have the blog start to spin and look bad

  2. christine says:

I’m gonna guess you found someone to fix it, ’cause this all looks normal to me.
    YAY WEEKEND!! Party on! :)

  3. I managed to survive the work week by… oh, wait a minute, I didn’t go to work… Now elaborate on the practical joke :-)

  4. Lisa @ The Meaning of Me says:

OK, like the expectation-driven firstborn that I am, I did my WD homework…just didn’t get back to you in a timely manner because A) I was volunteering at Kidzilla’s school and loving every minute of it and B) we were unexpectedly met with the awesome news that the Hub’s job has been upgraded to FULL TIME!!!! We immediately went out to celebrate and that was the day.

Anyway…I’ve identified my three persons. Did it right away. My Hub is most likely a Clark – the outsider, the doesn’t fit in kind of dude, the observer. I could go on. And yes, I know you suggested this on my blog a few days ago, but honestly, he’s it. Would’ve gone there anyway. My Mom is my Roger. Life is a never-ending set of rules to be obeyed, schedules to follow, and guidelines to which she must adhere. Brilliant, talented, complete servant to “The Rules.” And My Scott is most likely my BFF. “Life of the party” would work for her. She is a creature so social that the snow day strikes terror in her heart. She could talk to anyone about anything and perhaps even a tree and have a great conversation.

Nicely done. (damn! have I provided the soon-to-be-mandatory warning about learning the Wakefield Doctrine? the thing is, if you get to a certain point in knowing the character of the three worldviews (and I suspect you might already be there) then there will come a time when you can’t not see the clarks and the scotts and the rogers around you!)

heh heh…probably should print that on the landing page, huh?

  5. I really like Fridays now: it means I have freedom on the weekends! Well…relative freedom..to do lesson plans and coursework. Eh…hell, I took Monday off. Maybe I might get to write for fun yet this weekend. :)
