Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and and rogers)
I made the mistake of stopping by zoe and Christine and Lizzi’s Post this morning. zoe was reading my mind, Christine was speaking my mind (it’s a clark/scott thing, you’ll have to study the Doctrine harder if you don’t get it). and Lizzi was on the other side of the morass that I’m wading through (which is a good thing, of course…again, like Master Billy Bob Wu would say, “pardner, if ya have ta ask me the question, I reckon ya ain’t gonna understand the answer, ya know what I mean, son?“)
So, though I was born in a taxi, I wasn’t born last night in a taxi, here’s what I’m going to do:
1) zoe
2) christine
3) Denise
4) Sarah (that’s right… Sarah)
5) Lizzi… because it’s all her fault in the first damn place, lol
6) all Seven GuardVirgins… you people explain to them how I’m getting away with this (yes, Dyanne… I am, in fact doing just that!) (Jak! yo… read and learn)
7) I’ll be back just as soon as I find a quiet section of rural backroad (…ask Christine)
8) (all right… the TToT) (but this is just a place holder so the new Readers don’t get scared)
9) (…and the Wakefield Doctrine sine qua non, y’all)
10) 1.3 (I’m weird, but I’m not an idiot!)

You were born in a taxi?!?!
Looky there! Frist!
After over a year of doing this, I thought you knew that reading other lists before reading your own was detrimental to your own list!
I appreciate the link, though. :)
No, really. We’re you born in a taxi? I won’t ask for photographic proof, which is our normal way, but I do expect the story.
That was supposed to be “writing your own”, but with you and the way you write, it might still apply. ;)
And now I shall claim 2nd, third, and 4th.
Mmmkay….5th…frith.
Come on Clark. Tell Christine the story! Besides, how can you refuse a scott!? LOL And she was FRIST too!! and 2nd and third and 4th besides:)
People often underestimate my psychic. ..psychotic? … powers…was the mind reading the “random” or the “writers block”?
In case you aren’t aware, you aren’t actually linked up to the hop yet. Immobilized by not knowing what the rules are in this situation, I will fail to actually link your post up for you, but will bring it to your attention. Such a roger.
thank you Kristi!
just went over and plug it in and I appreciate your rogerian qualities!
My thoughts exactly – you were born in a taxi? That has to be a great story!
( ok… allowing for the limitations of being born, raised, schooled and matriculated in Y-ville)… help me understand: a remarkable insight into human behavior, funny observations, secrets of seduction and winning major political campaigns…even 3 to 5 years on a wooden fishing boat with men named Moe… and the strongest most consistent response I have seen to a Post is ‘tell the story about being born in a taxi!!!’
lol
Afraid all I have is that much, born in a cab on the way from Oak Bluffs to the hospital in Edgartown… don’t really have much more of the story, I mean, I’m not a roger!
I do believe I had a similar reaction to the news of you living and working on a fishing boat.
Good heavens, you need work on your storytelling. For starters, why was your mom in a taxi? Did your parents not have a car? Where was your dad? Who delivered you? Was your mom scared to death? Did she wait too long to head to the hospital or was labor that short? Methinks you need a different blog to tell about your life, or somehow work in the stories into explanations of the WD. Because I want to hear stories from the fishing boat, too. And I’m guessing there are plenty more in that interesting life of yours!
Christine
yes, yes I do. (and the outcome of (my) effort to become a better story-teller) will be a significant advance for the usefulness and usability of the Doctrine.
You know, there is a fairly interesting semi-metaphysical aspect to the process of ‘change’ that your comment here today illustrates in a very excellent manner.
Your Comment is both a welcome encouragement (not to mention direct-simple-to-follow-instructions for doing something that will benefit me,) as would come from a scott but it is also an acknowledgement to how much the Doctrine has allowed me to change and improve and such… so, hold that thought and then, in, say 3 years when someone says, ‘hey I know you are capable of….’ you will smile, thinking back to this point in time.
I suspect having children, all of this ‘knowing-that-the-others-tend-to-forget-the-great-strides-that-a-person-can-make-over-time’ is second nature to you. It is cool to have input like this to allow that favorite of things around here…perspectives
342th.
I knew the taxi story and I was always more interested in the fishing boat thing, and whether or not you leaped up from the tip of the hull, on the crest of the wave, and then DROPPED…but I seem to remember we covered that.
A perfectly acceptable list.
One week to go and you’ll be 14 days past 7 days ago.
Understood, but that’s easy for me to say, you being the one on the spot with the SGV*
yes! that SR 4.44 (parte: if designated, then one (or more) may be held responsible for the actions of another, smart-enough-to-slip-out-the-back blogger)
May I echo everyone else and say, “YOU WERE BORN IN A TAXI?!” I once knew someone who gave birth in the front seat of her car. Her husband, who was behind the wheel, dropped her off at the ER entrance and took the car to get it detailed.
lol
…and the difficult-to-believe part of this story is?
Your weird, but you make me laugh every time I read a post. ;) Thanks
you’re welcome! lol
I have forgotten whether I’m a Scott or a Roger. I need to do a refresher course over this blog. Born in a taxi. Not only does that hold my interest, but I am bouncing around names to the book in my head. :) As a mother, I would have been terrified if that happened to me. Luckily, living in such a small area, it’s rare that people call up cabs and the hospital isn’t close, but if in a pinch, and with the help of an ambulance, it’s reachable before death. Well, death from my bee-sting in my mouth, (I’m allergic), or death from a wreck I was in. Your post make me smile.

no sooner said than done! Which of these following statements feel ‘right’:
a) there is a Right Way to do things, b) those who hesitate are lost and c) the answer is out there
then, go to the ‘Quick Assessment’ to take the test and then come back and let us know what you think.
Hi, Clark
hey Val
getting more comfortable with the Doctrine? (it really is fun and, if you still get even one smile out of any Doctrine Post, then you pretty much have the concept down…the rest is filling in the blanks)
clarks are the most likely to get the Wakefield Doctrine right away, but are, for reasons that are so clarklike, the ones that are least likely to say, ‘hey! I got this thing down!’
