TToT for Saturday the Wakefield Doctrine (…nope! got nothin! no clever little side-title)

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

1) (apparently) we are approaching a significant anniversary for this, the-bloghop-that-Lizzi-built. I can say, ‘apparently’ without sounding like I’m not keeping up with things because of my Y Chrome heritage. It is an established, medical fact, that my people are unable to remember certain dates

2) having said that, I do recall Jak’s clearly excellent suggestion for last Summer’s, anniversary, i.e. to have it incorporate ‘naked cake’…rumour has it, he is spearheading this year’s celebration research

3) …oh! yeah… damn! almost forgot!! “I am grateful the following: ”  ( this being the requisite set up to the list of Ten Things! Just imagine that I have that phrase at the beginning of this List…but don’t try to imagine why, given that this is a computer and nothing could be easier, I didn’t just cut ‘n paste it.)

4) I want to thank roger for this week’s Thursday Guest Post Post, he stood up for rogers all over the place… and it was a well-written and enjoyable-to-read Post, as is only natural, what with him not only being a roger, but, in fact, the progenitor roger (which only means, he is the reason we don’t have a ‘theory of clarks, scotts and barrys’ which would totally be stupid, and all the docTees would have to be corrected)

5) speaking of docTees, I’m really trying to get the next edition to manifest in our common reality… two challenges: design and finance.  The design challenge is because it has been suggested, (mostly by Ms. Rogers), that you people of the X Chrome persuasion would prefer a different form of torso covering… specifically some type of tank top. The thing that’s giving me trouble is where to fit everything! They don’t have as much printable area as does our traditional line of docTee. We’ll continue to produce the traditional design, but if anyone has any thoughts on how to include the following mandatory elements:  the Wakefield Doctrine/ the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers  (and) the url  (and) ‘clark‘  (or) ‘scott‘  (or) ‘roger‘  please let us know!

6) …speaking of docTees and contests, I remembered how much fun they are last night, while on the vidchat. Lizzi’s video on this week’s TToT contains a certain comedic element that I found only a few people recognized, we I sponsored an impromptu contest, but only one person won a docTee, Linda!  (…at about 1:50 into Lizzi’s vid, she does something that is a ‘staple’ of the physical comedy genre… a basic element of the vocabulary of comedy)

7) I should include ‘my work’, as a grat item, as it is not only essential to whatever it is I do with my life, but it is also a laboratory for working out and developing the Wakefield Doctrine as a tool for self-improving myself … much yet to be be learned and understood

8) our continued anti-appreciation for Christine’s infirmity. ( sounds like a great title for a romance novel series!) Now, we trust that Christine will understand that we use the term ‘infirmity’ only to reference her current mis-aligned tricycle patellar-mocus, and not as a general characterization of her physical/mental state.

9) We will be auditioning clarks for next week’s guest Post post… all are encouraged to apply…only those who refuse to apply are qualified and, of those, only the applicants who insist that someone else would be much better, will be considered

10) oh! yeah!  the photos!! (in today’s Post)!  lol  well one ( of the two)  is easy!  Una and I went for our weekly walk* and, since I didn’t have any duct tape to stick the video camera to my head, I thought, better to do a ‘still shot’, the better to spare me the grief when Dyanne and Christine read the Post…. speaking of Christine and Dyanne (and Jean, for that matter), the other photo* (the thumbnail on the landing page), that is a photo of a friend of mine at work…she is a scott and, for whatever reason, I actually noticed that she had new shoes on, and her enthusiasm at my perceptiveness made me think, “damn! I should get a picture of this!”  and so the photo.

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. frist!

  2. I loved that vid of Lizzi’s totally. it was hysterical jenh

you want t shirt designs and you want this for…free? OK as a artitist, as one of my friends on Linked In put it, until I diplomatically helped her out on that, I would love to diplomatically assist, Although I already am almost 100 percent sure you won’t take my design. Hey, not my prob.

Have a lovely weekend–you have been doing great work lately!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      lol

not so much design…design, more like suggestions (“no, clark the Wakefield Doctrine url should not go on front, even if you thing it’s best because, ‘there are natural quotation marks‘ !!)
      more a sense of ‘eye’
I’m thinking the identifying type (clark or scott or roger) vertical on on side (midrifically-speaking) the Wakefield Doctrine ‘crest thing’ (see the fashion center for examples of this) on the center back (whatever there is of that…) and the url center front (discreetly, of course)

(and no, that I am also the Director of Quality Control and Inspections for the Wakefield Doctrine, has not yet crossed my mind)
      lol

  3. Kristi says:

Love the phrasing of #9, and curious to see who you can rope into the job!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Kristi

      thank you

…speaking of rogers… (lol) if you find you might have the time (in say 3 weeks) If the feature still is around, I would love to have you do a guest Post (for Guest Post Thursday), don’t answer yet! I’ll ask again as we get closer in to roger day

      • Kristi says:

OK, I won’t answer yet, but I can tell you my secondary clark is rearing its head big time right now. I’m certainly not volunteering, and I’m sure someone else would be better! However, I’m flattered and I’ll think about it. Fair enough?

(Sometimes I feel like my primary/secondary split is kind of like the electoral college: Roger wins the popular vote, but clark wins the election.)

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

          Kristi

a good way to put it… the area of the way the secondary (and tertiary) aspects affect us/enable us/influence us and all the rest is largely un-explored country at the moment.

(with the Doctrine as a tool), I am better able to understand how difficult/challenging/tempting a request for a guest post might be… at the risk of repeating myself (and still not be construed as asking a direct question*….yet, I will say that the only standard/requirement for a guest post is that the writer write what they enjoy/want to/are happy to write. I (re)state this because I found that with rogers, this ‘no requirements/standards/guidelines’ is not as welcomed as it is with clarks… but then, given what we understand about the rogerian worldview, it only makes sense, yes?

          * god forbid I should ask a direct question lol…after all, I am a clark

          • Kristi says:

Indirect questions leave this roger confused, but I think that maybe in about 3 weeks time I could write a post. . .

  4. As per the doctrine, your audition process is creative. thanks for sharing, Clark!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Michelle

thank you Michelle… will try to take a break mid-day for the other Posts before they crowd gets too large.

  5. How fun! I might get a chance to do this, this weekend. We’ll see. :)
This week blindsided me: report cards and end-of-year cumulative reports. And graduation. And more grants. Holy moly. And…I’m going more into the full time thing AND I’m tutoring. GULP that’s a lot of water…I’m treading but barely, lol

  6. WHY AM I NOT SEEING A PICTURE OF THE SHOES?
Tank tops? Not at this age, baby.

    • zoebyrd says:

seeeeeeeeeeeee…..its NOT just me and Dyanne has a self-admittedly glorious new rack!

    • Denise says:

Dyanne! You could so totally pull off a tank:)
Whoa. What?! I was not suggesting she take it off. LOL I meant Dyanne would look great in a tank top!

And would someone pa-leeze get zoe a hat for her damned “haid”

  7. christine says:

I am happy to say I was wearing my Wakefield docTee as I typed my TToT post this week. Before i even read your post. I wear it all the time. I would not, however, wear it if it was a tank top. Just sayin’.

Your audition process is quite clever.

And what do you mean by two photos? I can’t find a photo of shoes anywhere in this post. I need to see a photo of the shoes that managed to catch your eye.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Christine

Ah ha! I now understand! (thank you)… the link here (in the TToT) goes to the post directly, the shoes are in a thumbnail on my ‘landing page’ if you happen back here, then click on:

      https://wakefielddoctrine.com

      that’s the photos of Denise’s new shoes… (she’s a scott btw)

the tank top issue is, I think solved, if I can do the catalogue thing… (my printer uses an online supplier, she has my designs… a person could pick the clothing and life goes on!)

personally (and un-characteristically, I am partial to the Wakefield Doctrine hat (“…for your damn head”) but hardly anyone likes those

      • Denise says:

Not to be confused with me, the clarklike female, Denise! The GirlieOnTheEdge Denise!
I agree with Lizzi. The shoe/sandals would be better….not tan:)
But Denise! if you are reading this, they look great on you!! Very nice photo… there are men out there who don’t know what they’re missing.:)

        • christine says:

Thank you, Denise, for clearing that up for me. I’m usually confused when I read these posts, but this time I was unusually so. :)
And thank you, Clark, for leading me to the shoes. THOSE are scott shoes? They look too plain in the tan, I think, to be true scott shoes. And hardly any heel. Maybe I just don’t know the doctrine well enough.

    • zoebyrd says:

      HAT!HAT!HAT!HAT!For your effing damn head!

  8. zoebyrd says:

Is Una driving? Is that why your camera is duct taped to your head?

  9. lrconsiderer says:

Not bothered about a hat (for my damn head) unless it has horns on it. And googly eyes, AND I WANT A TANK TOP, DAMNIT! So I will wait and hope you get your supplier licked into shape.

Those shoes are decidedly scottian. Hawt, with the strap round the ankle and the peep toe and all (did you see Sandy’s shoes in a post earlier this week? Now THOSE were some hella shoes) but TAN? TAN?! Decidedly almost-near-to-functional and so incredibly these-are-sexy-but-ONLY-WHEN-I-SAY-SO kind of shoes. Tan?! Sheesh!

  10. lol had a giggle reading numbers 8 and 9!. I’m going back to watch lizzi’s video again to see what I missed!

  11. RCoyne RCoyne says:

Hey Clark, I think you might want to consider building a runway ramp out back to properly display all the fabulous clothing you better start manufacturing. Plywood, duct tape, lots of nails. Stage lights. Building permits. Overseas suppliers. Bored anemic runway models. I’ll do the ramp, you do the CEO thing, OK?

  12. Una in the car is so cool – she is a lovely dog. And I don’t even really enjoy dogs.
Looking forward to the guest post. Not to imply that your regular posts aren’t fine and dandy, but it should be fun.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Lisa

I have been fortunate so far, with the 2 that we have had (the attempt is for each Thursday a post from a scott …roger…clark, (repeat as long as possible)
our first Guest Post was from Jean… a scott and a very excellent start to the series with this post

the next (just the day before yesterday) was from the progenitor roger…

and next week will be a clark

  13. Denise says:

I love the idea of a clothing line!

*page goes wavy…we’re in the future*….hey ho..here’s a roger out for an evening walk. It’s a brisk fall night. Thank goodness he thought to put on his grey cardigan. The one with the Wakefield Doctrine logo discreetly placed under the pocket….poor first time mom, she’s frustrated that her newborn keeps spitting up but smiles as she reads the onesie she’s putting on little Noah….”I can’t help it. I’m a scott!!”

  14. Sandy Ramsey says:

I do believe you can fit all the necessary text on a tank top with no problem. Or a fitted tee shirt would be good too. Something with a little more shape. Not that I don’t love my Doctrine tee…I do. And it gets plenty of wear!
I think it’s nice you notice your co-workers shoes. Shoes are actually one thing I notice about people. Don’t ask me why…I just do. Una is beautiful…thanks for the photo.

  15. stephanie2006 says:

My work once had a design contest for the next generation of our computer system. The grand prize was an Ipad, but since I don’t like Apple products that don’t stem from a tree, I didn’t participate (apart from being the polar opposite of creative and talented). But I REALLY want this t-shirt, so I may try something.. Once we’ve moved, and we have internet again, which may actually take a while. But maybe by then I’ll have something scribbled up that’s fit for scanning :-) Have a great week, Clark, and sorry for being notoriously missing these days, just WAY-TOO-TIRED all the friggin time..

  16. Kristi Campbell - findingninee says:

Re: tanks. Clark on the chest, over boob. The URL and the slogan on the back. Boom. Done. Whoot!

  17. “Your Y chrome heritage”. That is just so much nicer aka more politically correct than the phrases I normally come up with to describe the tendencies/characteristics normally associated with this condition!

  18. A post about Rogers? That sounds pretty interesting. I was trying to think if I knew a Roger ever in my life personally. I’m not sure I have. This hop has been going on for a while hasn’t it? I can tell by the number that most put by the title every week. I’m so glad to meet wonderful bloggers like yourself through it! :)

  19. Joy Christi says:

I was curious about that photo, it’s too bad I was about to say “You have some LOVELY feet there, Clark!”

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

they are the feet of a scottian female! being so proud of my ability to identify new shoes, it is not un-reasonable that I commemorate the occasion with a photo… (yeah…just edging towards ‘creepy’)
