pre-pre,-50-oh-T the Wakefield Doctrine (rumor has it, Jak is working on the theme! (2 words: damn!))

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

imagesCA32O6XR

Hey! Everyone! I am so far behind that I will one thing before I hit the proverbial road:

  1. try to present a premise that allows me to post a truncated TToT list here… predicated on some
  2. clever(ish) idea   and/or
  3. present here a defensible form of a TToT List

So here’s the thing. When I come back to computerville, I will have a video and a list and they will include mention of the following: Jean, Jak, work, running-around-in-the-morning, new series of Guest Posts, a (firm) resolution to get more organized, a ‘shout-out’ to Lizzi and the difference it makes around here when she is able to be fully here (as opposed to the A to Z Challenge demands), an acknowledge of anti-grat to Christine’s physical condition and an attempt to pre-empt her admonition about ‘you spent more time writing about how you were not able to write… aka Christine’s Rule  and, fear not!  something about the Wakefield Doctrine.

Funny thing is, I’m not going to publish this before I leave, so why the hell am I still typing?   ’cause, as zoe might say, “you never know, ya know?”

Hey!  I promise to write a list, but I’m still at work!

catch up with you later!

Ten Things of Thankful

clarkscottroger About clarkscottroger
Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

    I-I-I can’t-can’t-can’t possibly-possibly-possibly maintain-maintain-maintain this-this-this style-style-style of-of-of triplicate-triplicate-triplicate

I think you’re right. I feel fully *back* this week, and it;s thoroughly evident from the levels of interaction ALREADY, which is so validating/fulfilling/lovely. I am glad.

I will write for you soon. Need to figure out what. No idea yet.

Buuuuut I wanted to say that you should shout out to JOY because although Christine doesn’t like you running reds, Joy was the one who got the ticket by doing exactly that when she was trying your vidpost thing. But I want to see a series of Christine. That sounds fun.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

Damn! you’re right! (it must be a scottian thing, sort of what zoe might might refer to as ‘reaction formation’)… I will amend by error*

Hey! Joy! where the hell is the video (the one of you being chased by the police… or was that running a red light…) anyway, send me the link sos I can post it here.

      * a semi-rogerian expression! lol

      • lrconsiderer says:

Yah I didn’t see it yet, either. Mewantsta SEE

      • zoe says:

well I guess I’m kind of a semi Rogerian.

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

come on! it’s not ‘semi-rogerian’! it is (you have a) clarklike predominant worldview with a strong secondary rogerian aspect and it is nothing to be ashamed of! (or defensive about) yes, you are! no, it has nothing to do with that, I do not feel that way!

          lol

          • zoe says:

What you talkin bout??? Im fine w it…. :)…..well actually more meh… :-\

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol… this medium (chatation) is so good with subtle inferences and sub-texts, no?

              • zoe says:

True nuff…I suspect its the source for much needless drama elsewhere….Facebook for example…

    • christine says:

She did WHAT?!?! Oh, we have GOT to see that video! Clark, I hope you and your dangerous self pay attention if the video ever sees the light of day.

  3. Kristi says:

If you are anything like I am, I know the answer to your question: You keep typing so that you don’t forget what it was you wanted to post!

    • christine says:

      Ha!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

(… no I have no idea why this clip seemed to an effective form of communication… except it is Samuel Jackson lol) I do agree that is is better to keep typing than to have that nagging in the mind.

  4. zoe says:

    HEY I HEARD THAT CLARK!
    -skip

  5. Finally home myself tonight after a long day of soccer, errand running, car washing and more. Hoping, you too are home and relaxing now. And also wishing you a so dermal evening and Sunday ahead, as well ;)

  6. christine says:

Oh my word, Clark. You are going to get someone seriously injured. As you drove, I wanted to yell to all of those pedestrians you passed, “Watch out! Clark is coming! Pick up your dogs and get out of the way!” I hardly heard what you said. Except, I think I heard you are thankful for my injury. Huh. Glad I can be of use to you and the Doctrine. Maybe. I’d offer to write a post for you about what it’s like to be a scott, including an injured one, but you know me well enough to be able to write it yourself. :)

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Christine

…you’re on! I’ll be sure to remind you of your offer (to do a Thursday Guest Post Thursday post), the next time ‘scott day’ comes around, in about 3 weeks. What had me laughing (on the video) was my ‘being grateful’ to you for busting up your knee, because it provides us all with a good opportunity for an insight into the scottian worldview. In a nutshell: scotts handle the injury/recovery well enough…. adapting to the reduced mobility, but….but! there is that matter of your pesky hunt/chase drive… predators are identified (in part) by the natural drive to spot/chase/run down and capture prey. You should not be surprised to find yourself becoming (even more) drawn to games/activities that don’t involve actually moving… (scotts seem to love the online scrabble or hangman or any of a number of competitive words games) the Doctrine says, ‘hey, best you find some healthy outlets for your reduced physical mobility before the family comes back from church to see that you’ve knitted 3 sweaters and 2 scarves for everyone in the house, including the dogs… or have, using only 2 rolls of duct tape, the vacuum cleaner and 19 coat hangers, invented an automatic feeding machine for the chickens and you have an idea for automating the other farm chores but it involves combining parts of the lawnmower and a couple of kitchen appliances.’
I look forward to your guest post, thank you

      • zoe says:

I could be wrong but….it didn’t sound like an offer to me…..

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

you mean Christine’s offer to write a Thursday Guest Post Thursday post? oh, man! I totally heard that in what she said, I hope I’m not standing at my locker between periods and people think I’m claiming a date for the dance that never was!!!

          • zoe says:

Well I am often wrong but I wouldnt mark yer dance card just yet…

            • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

oh man! shades of Nancy Jackson!! (long, true weird scary-if-you-don’t-get-clarks/funny-and-impressive-if-you-do-get-clarks story)

              • zoe says:

sorry. I’ll have to hear about Nancy someday. I think christine is the kind of person who will probably write one for you when asked… I just don’t know that that was the offer. Lol

    • zoe says:

      Christine
In clarks defense and demise…he does drive like crap…but the vid is doable…when I did the hat vid, I rubber banded the phone cam to the opposite head rest…no need to be distracted by it…hands free…

  7. Uh oh!! Sounds like a packed work weekend!! Here’s to getting to your list, now!

  8. Sandy Ramsey says:

I’m not sure what is up with me but I am having the hardest time keeping up with y’all on this thread this morning. I need more sleep. Or more coffee. Or a ticket to Hawaii.

    Definitely Hawaii….

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      exactly!
      New York City: scott
      California: clark
      Hawaii: roger

(let the three worldviews demonstrate themselves to you…. remember that with the Wakefield Doctrine: you can’t break it or even get it wrong!)

      • zoe says:

        Why CA clark????

        • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

lol just for the symmetry did not want to try for a full on exegesis* (given the probable predominant worldview)

*jeez clark, talk about yer passive aggressive side lol

  9. Joy Christi says:

AAAHHH, thank you for the reminder. Sorry, didn’t mean to yell at you, I just NOW remembered that I forgot (that makes sense, right?) to finish the part of the video log where I actually UPLOAD it to the internets. Or as you so eloquently put it “Computerville.” Actually it’s ON my computer, I just need to put it on something so it’s viewable by others. “InternetTown.”
I see you almost missed a stop, so thank you for showing me it’s not JUST ME who does that when trying to video while driving. Harder than it looks.
You do make it look pretty easy, is that a Clark thing? Were you ever a radio DJ? You talked perfectly right up until you had to get out of your car. Just like radio personalities with commercials. It’s all about TIMING.
    And humor:
    “…nice car, that’s 4 HOLY SHIT!” hahaha

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Joy

yeah… I think everyone should try a drive by video… (we can leave it to them to decide the kind of road to drive on…. highways or prairie straight-as-a-rule-nothing-but-cows-to-hit roads…)
the sound is always a tough part, not having a monitor on how well it’s coming through… that, and, (as you have learned) doing it in one take. Though I suppose the more accomplished self-vidists probably do editing and end up with a polished movie, I kinda like the video-veritas thing

totally looking forward to seeing your Tru Crime video

  10. Joy Christi says:

    p.s. that IS a lovely Mayberry-esque town.

  11. Denise says:

Hey Christine! Looking forward to your guest post!!

    • zoe says:

See clark…Denise says she meant it and shes wayyyy smarter than us….I should speak for myself….shes way smarter than me anyway…

      • Denise says:

Say what zoe?! What do I mean? OK, well thanks? …..someone want to fill me in? LOL

        • zoebyrd says:

if you refer above there is a conversation about wether Christine actually meant to offer or was being a sarcastic scottian female in her “offer” of guest posting… I say the latter but who knows…certainly not me and I maintain you are more savy than I and in looking forward to her post perhaps you were thinking she MEANT the offer… get it? lol.

          • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

yeah, I will go with my characteristically direct, forthright and un-ambiguous: yeah Christine was indicating her willingness to write a guest Post. There is more to it than that, isn’t there always? If I were pushed to be more definitive in this statement, I would say that her statement indicated a positive regard for the notion (of guest posting), couched in terms that made it clear that the demands on (her) time made a last minute and/or high pressure request would be met with bared teeth, stiff forelegs, ears-back reaction.

            lol

            • zoe says:

I as always will err on the side of sarcasm and smartassiness….
question is will Christine make it back here and let us know????

          • Denise says:

            Got it!
Yes. At the time she wrote that statement, Christine did mean it. It’s just that she may forget she challenged Clark to ask her to write a guest post lol
scotts. They so like to tease:)

            • christine says:

Ha! You non-scotts think too much. :)
I do believe I said I would offer, but I don’t need to, seeing as how Clark knows me so well. He could write it for me. Zoe is right, I didn’t offer, but I’d write one if Clark really wanted me to. :)

              • zoe says:

Zoe is right, Zoe is right, Zoe is right,…ahem….just sayin’

              • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

                cool
I will work up my nerve (over the next week or so) and ask you more formally to do the next scott Post. the cool thing is that there are no requirements or conventions or anything, just whatever you feel you want to write about…

  12. Louise says:

Hear hear to getting organized! As for brevity – I’m almost envious – succinct, to the point, and done!

  13. Yvonne says:

“You spend more time writing about how you were not able to write…” Love it!
You are so good at counting to ten. I don’t know how to do that, which is why my posts never have numbers of thankfuls!
And poor Chistine! Hope she’s better soon.

  14. Sarah says:

Have a great trip, Clark! Work hard! Report back!
I want to vacation in the mountains. I guess that could be CA or HI.

  15. Finally could participate. Having a little fun in blogsville. :)
Hope your weekend is going well!
We’ve had family in town: I have them all pegged and was explaining the Doctrine to them, especially after they asked about my *awesome* sweathshirt that I love to wear….

  16. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

…come on! I am totally interested in this insight!*

*though I must admit, Freud is a bit too rogerian for my current tastes (though I freely admit, he is who pulled me into my undergrad major), if I had to pick a head candler for a role model, totally go with Perls… (yeah, just a little scottian), oddly I can’t say I have the simpatico for any of the big (or semi-big) clarks in your business, though Jung is not a bad poster shrink for the clarklike worldview…

  17. zoebyrd says:

Where the rubber meets the road
    aka
    Where Freud meets Farley:
    ego =rogers
    superego= clarks
    id=scotts

  18. clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

    almost
clarks ego (the rational) scotts id (the instinct) rogers superego (the overseer/rule enforcer)

  19. zoebyrd says:

well now see, I knew as I wrote it that this was a problem…the nuances of psychodynamic theory would say the the ego moderates between the demands of the id, the superego, and reality, ie dictating what reality is socially “actual”…not a strong point of clarks…
