Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
…gotta type an run.
Using the ToT Scoring System (as expressly provided for in the Book of Secret Rules Chapter 4 (‘when you’re pressed for time, but it is a legitimate reason‘) Section 3 (‘but only in the cases where exemplary foresight in the form of pre-recorded videos can be documented’). The Categories: Work, Home and Doctrine
Work: a) that I can, 2) that I have enough experience to resist the crush of discouragement when the ‘selling yourself to people’ aspect swings into the negative and c) having people at work who are aware of the Doctrine.
- Total ToT score: 3
Home: 1) the photo that leads this Post, 2) the (re)-realization1 that with age comes the tendency to get bogged down in deliberation that is way, way best prudent and simply becomes resistance (to change)2 and, of course, III) the following video
- Total ToT Score: 4 (the car is a separate item from the canine who enjoys, and therefore I enjoy, the riding around thing)
the Wakefield Doctrine: glad that I did the FTSF bloghop yesterday. It was the first ‘hop I participated in and, as such, holds a special value (i.e. ran my Doctrine-everything take on a Post outside the Doctrine blog… very empowering and encouraging and such thanks Janine and Kate and Stephanie and you-know-who). As a result, there has been no context, situation or theme that I’ve felt that it would be inappropriate to write (about) using the Wakefield Doctrine as the viewpoint. (kinda explains why I don’t get asked to guest post all that much…lol) and the following video from one of the truly cool things that issued from (to a certain degree) my time here at the Wakefield Doctrine
- Total ToT score: 2
…SBoR 1.3
The Total: 10
1) I suspect is a never ending process, at least I hope it is
2) in conversation with client who were selling the farm after 60 years, talked about when they first bought it…barely livable, lots of work, children and yet, when they saw it the very first time, they immediately knew that it was the place for them and, most importantly, they simply did it… I laughed and described how, at home we have been debating switching internet providers for, I don’t know, 8 months?? lol
There’s more to that Video chat right LOL
Susan
…other than: wearing special effects party hats and mustaches, telling only the punchlines to favorite jokes and discussing the differences between jello in Great Britain and in the US?? why yes there was… lol
Hopefully one of these Friday nights I’ll be able to join you.
would be fun… allow for a certain degree of ‘clunkiness’ in the invitations and signing on and all…if you have a facebook account that allows for a certain amount of hand-holding through the process of signing on to the vidchat… but certainly worth it, it (the vidchat) is every bit the adventures in 21st century technology lol
YES YES YES DO!
so cute re: Una !!! and love seeing part of the vid chat!
Jean
yeah, there is something in the genetic structure of dogs that creates perfect car riding (shotgun) skills in nearly every dog!
The last item made me laugh out loud at the truth of it. I tend to be the buy the farm type, and I married a 8 month assessment of internet service type. Nearly 30 yrs and we are both still standing!
so many things to be thankful about during that first video. una is a fantastic dog. skip has never really appreciated the car…I always thought that was more of an inherent thing in dogs but I guess not. And I don’t know that you succeeded in putting a face on the doctrine tthis time as much as a forehead…none the less I bet those joggers were really grateful when you didn’t plaster them all over the road after you went speeding through that stop sign. was that the new chair at the desk? Is it really the world’s most comfortable desk chair?
zoe
BEHOLD THE FOREHEAD OF WISDOM!!
natural order, if the joggers are to thrive and survive then they will need to develop traffic-centric reflexes
not sure about the chair yet…total improvement over the old chair
Natuaral selection SHOULD apply to joggers as well…
ALL HAIL THE FOREHEAD!! *drops to knees touching forehead to earth*
lol
Oops….forgot…address now…
http://Www.rewritten-redone. Blogspot.com thanks Clark!
done and works (with a little adjusting/spacing)
uh yeah, damn phone puts in spaces and whole words wherever the hell it pleases… thanks for the clean up… Z/L
“Your stunned silence is very reassuring”
But of course, you had headphones
“I saw her lips move…”
Way to BoSR it up, my friend :D
damn! I totally forgot (about the earphones) and the subsequent volume
thanks (it is a lifelong effort…the SBoR)
Love the last one. Yes, sometimes we simply overthink the small things, but when it comes to the big things, we just go with the gut feeling. Or Scotts vs. Clarks?
Stephanie
it will vary…. overall, scotts are the more decisive clarks and rogers will indulge in excessive deliberation, but for two very different reasons:
rogers because they do not like to make decisions
clarks because they are afraid of being wrong
Aww, cute doggie noises Una! And good driving Clark! I would be too nervous with a dog in the front seat – at least I think I would but I’ve never tried it. My sister’s dog has been in our car, but my sister is there too, so the dog sits at her feet.
Yvonne
All depends on the dog, of course, when our first dog, Ola, was very young she would try to hide under the car seat, not a good move, but Una is happy sticking her nose out the window, never leaves her seat.
I’m currently puppy-sitting guide dog puppy Sooner, and he perked right up when he heard Una. He was very confused, and, of course, I was much amused.
So, is it a clark thing to leave the seat belt unlatched and ignore the alarm? ;-)
Kristi
yes and semi-no! I’m not, in fact, wearing a seat belt, but the ringing noise is from Una’s seat belt alarm! lol (we both ignored it!)
I understood that the ringing was from Una’s seat belt alarm. I think I would just buckle it empty (behind Una) to stop the sound. To each his own, though. However, now knowing that you were not wearing a seat belt, and (me) being a roger, you know I will need to politely suggest that you wear your seat belt! See, some decisions are easy. :-)
Kristi
(Should I? nah, she knows that you know that she…) I knew that you would say that! (the seatbelt thing lol)
I considered buckling Una’s belt, but it looked like she might get tangled or catch her foot when she moved about, so I figured a little dinging wouldn’t be too much to put up with…
So much going on over here. Sorry I left the chat after only a few minutes but the audio started to degrade to robotic garble. But not before I saw Zoe’s new glasses. Right? New glasses Zoe? You looked good in them:)
No joke buddy about rogers and decisions. They do not like to make them at all. They’re awful at making decisions. But here’s the rub. When a clark (finally or in those rare cases, quickly) makes “the” decision, the roger will, more times than not, then ask “are you sure?” Drives me nuts!
hey, thanks Denise! They are kind of a cross between CLark Kent and a librarian… would you like to renew that book… they are a bit Drew Carey as well Im afraid… but Im getting used to them!
Denise
and worse…they are (Sincerely) suggesting that you have not necessarily the stature to make that decision.
Seriously was so happy you joined us in FTSF yesterday and truly made my Friday. And hoping now that you have been enjoying the weekend so far, too!! :)
Looks like you’ve had a busy week, Clark. BTW, wanted to ask which plugin you use to show where your visitors come from! Thinking of putting one in!
Michelle
that is ‘Feedjit Live Traffic Feed’ there is a free and a semi-free version. it’s always been fun, sort of like stamp collecting (‘cept you throw the stamos away as you collect them…lol)
Particularly loved the last one about the 8 month deliberation. The two parts of my personality struggle for lead position – jump in and buy the farm or think about it until forever. Love the pressed for time TToT issue. Nicely done scoring system.
Lisa
you know thats got to be the future (true) value of the vidchat technology!…. more to follow!
How cool that work people know The Doctrine! That’s awesome. Also the videos aren’t playing sound for me on my laptop – will have to come back when I’m on my “real” computer. Sorry I missed vidchat on Friday!!
Kristi
(yeah, I try to limit how much my ‘weird’ shows, but, with the clarks (at work) it isn’t hard to communicate the Doctrine)
we missed you, but I’ve been thinking about doing another ‘Afterschool Special’ for those of us with different schedules and such
