Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

Just last week I was saying (in a Comment) to Troy that the fun/challenge/scary part of these TMT Posts is writing a story that might make sense of (our collection of music)… allow me to quote me (with the permission of the blog owner):              “… *after all, we’re frickin blog writers, who isn’t trying their best to tell a story here?”   This Tuesday is no exception.

We are charged with:

Twisted MixTape 25

mixtape jenkehl

Whoa. Its been quite a week folks!

To help relieve the stress, I decided to use our theme of “Anything Goes” to create a fun playlist. You my friend are in for a treat.

Friends Don’t Let Their Friend’s Kids Grow Up Listening to Raffi

(and yes, I am trying to indoctrinate your child, that is what I’m here for after all)

Jen  and KristiJen and KristiJen and… today’s Post in no way reflects the opinion (musical or otherwise) of anyone associated with the Wakefield Doctrine and is entirely the product of my living through the 60s  and  the 70s! If you’re looking for someone to blame for this admittedly odd Twisted MixTape, they’re the ones you should be talking to!!  sitting back on their  Raynor-eurotech-ergohuman-le9erg chairs, typing plot-twists and ‘themes’ that cause us to lie awake all night trying to remember a song that we know we forgot a long time ago. (Oh yeah… “and eating bon bons and/or eating grapes held by manly administrative assistants.”  (..took this joke way too far, no?)

In any event, here is my contribution to this week’s TMT:

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

Comments

  1. This is cool, Clark. Love that version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow!

  2. Dream says:

I’m a big Tarantino fan and I love the soundtrack from that movie. That Grace Potter is one of my favorite “driving songs” and Jeff Beck is masterful, as always.

      Dream

Jeff Beck is a mutant! lol (as a guitar player you watch and thinking, ‘what?!? why would you do it that way!’ and it all comes out amazing, of course…)

  3. Kathy Kramer says:

I have a Captain Kangaroo related song on my list, too.

  4. Quickstepp says:

Ummm I approve based on the inclusion of Reservoir Dogs alone. I just did a post on Tarantino a week or so ago!

  5. Slu says:

My Man… Absolutely Blown Away!!! You gotta know I’m Smiling.

GP, Tarantino, JB, & Holy Smokes: The Captain!!! STELLAR… Slu

  6. findingninee says:

You can never take it too far if you’re feeding me grapes.

    Um.

    right? YES.

Also I can’t BELIEVE you included Bugs Bunny Barber. That is one of my alltime favorite clips ever. I have referenced it at least 100 times and have only gotten like maybe 2 “oh?’s” from it. But you forgot about this one, which is even better… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy6OaUxDxVg

  7. Jen says:

Really. It’s like you’re finally having fun with it. It keeps getting better and better. Really. Bugs, definitely Bugs. He was like my childhood best friend. Thank you for being so awesome and belligerent and funny and you.

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Jen

yeah… this is definitely a proper expression of the unique qualities of the blogosphere in general and virtual reality specifically… or something like that!

  8. troy P. says:

One word today Clark, just one. BRILLIANT! OK, technically all the words before that one word (not to mention after) count as well, but that as well would be taking a joke too far, now wouldn’t it?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Troy

…depends, (here in the Wakefield Doctrine) you are on solid ground. (here at the Doctrine, the rules of rhetoric and such are pretty much left to the person and what they think they can get away with) ya knw?

  9. Lance says:

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and some Jeff Beck? I”M IN!

    nice
