Six Sentence Story -the Wakefield Doctrine- “a Six Sentence Café & Bistro Six …cont’d”

Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)

This is the Doctrine’s contribution to the Six Sentence Story bloghop.

Hosted by Denise, constrained by a sentence limit (high and low) of six, there are worse ways to spend the remaining time you have on earth.

Prompt word:

FIRE

“la Raconteuse.”

The tall, thin man approached the red-headed writer; his manner formal bordering on deferential, his smile, however, was that of a friend who had been there for the highs and the lows endemic to life.

Remaining seated, Chris returned the smile.

“We will keep the light on and the hearth-fire in my Office burning, against your return,” the Proprietor added the slightest of bows.

Rising she embraced the Manager, libretto to her heart-felt gesture, “Formality is a style you wear well, mine is more…this!”

From the bar area, Mimi and Denise and the Gatekeeper added their approval in shared laughter.

Well, what exactly do you want to know? Whether I am a clark or a scott or roger? If you have to ask, then you need to keep reading the Posts for two reasons: a)to get a clear enough understanding to be able to make the determination of which type I am and 2) to realize that by definition I am all three.* *which is true for you as well, all three...but mostly one

  1. Frank Hubeny says:

I like the formality of wishing la Raconteuse the best on her new adventures in Paris by keeping the hearth-fire burning.

  2. Chris Hall says:

Oh, that was so, so sweet, Dear Manager! Just a few episodes… will be back, since I’ll write to myself anyway. Who knows, I might be by the next alcove anyway, scribbling about those gargoyles. V pleased that the other three were laughing!

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

do not rush, there are adventures to be had (by la R) and tales of adventures to be shared (with the Proprietors) all in their own time

  3. Misky says:

I swear that I can hear the laughter of those good friends. Such a lovely bon voyage wish.

  4. A hug is the only way to say goodbye sometimes. We’ll look forward to hearing of grand adventures upon your return.

  5. Nicely done, especially the 5th sentence. Can picture Chris perfectly, almost as if I were sitting at the bar looking on.

  6. Aptivi says:

I can imagine the laughter of those good friends… ☺️

  7. They are laughing, I am smiling! Nice.

  8. Now the question is did you hug back or just let yourself be hugged?

    • clarkscottroger clarkscottroger says:

      Good question, len

      lol

the tall, thin man is nothing if he is not one who values friendship. And while his character (as depicted in these stories) is one who is reserved and somewhat distant in social situations, aka ‘not a hugger’. That’s got nothing to do with his behavior when interacting with those he considers friends.

      ya know?

  9. She will come back and tell us so many awesome stories from Paris. Or send them!
