Firstly, Portishead — absolutely. Secondly, darn that is cold. Is this big snow storm coming your direction? Stay safe and warm, if so.
thanks, yeah should get some frozen water
funny about the Portishead… had not heard of them as a band, but I was watch some utube channel with movie trailers and, as I always do, paid attention to the soundtrack/background music and the song ‘Glorybox’ was in the background of a scene and I was, like, damn! excellent song!
Love the summer and winter photos of Una. Movies and music are perfect for indoor pastime.
thanks, cai I particularly liked the summer one… given the weather today
May you stay safe and warm indoors until this, too, shall pass.
thanks, M
you too
Hey! Andrew has been having a slight Patrick McGoohan problem signing-in/Commenting at the Doctrine.
He was thoughtful enough to email us (his comment):
Your blog is still refusing my comments because there is a number in my user name (Frewin55) so here is my comment for this week so here is my comment for this week…
Good to see Jimi Hendrix here! We live near the smallish town of Ilkley (On Ilkley Moor ‘baht Hat!) and few people know that Jimi Hendrix played a gig there as part of a multi-gig deal with his promoter. It took place in the ballroom of a hotel (now a nursing home) and a passing policeman on his bicycle, investigating the mass of cars parked outside, went in, demanded the music stop, and when ignored, literally pulled the plug! Jimi and his manager escaped with the door money…
Have a good week Clark”
Thank you, Andrew.
We appreciate the extra effort at the commentationing…
I too saw Hendrix (probably later in time… ’67 or ’68.) I enjoy telling the story to the hypo-youthful if for only the reason I make a point of saying, ‘Yeah, the first time tickets were $3.50 but the next year they (the tickets) went up to $4.50. Fricken promoters!
