Welcome to the Wakefield Doctrine (the theory of clarks, scotts and rogers)
Full Disclosure: Had to find the music before starting this post.
When in doubt… get back to the basics.
(Interesting question: is the previous statement, a worn-smooth adage meant, like RePrints, to give the individual a definite starting point to counteract one the qualities of writer’s block, that of hyper-fluidity? Everything Rule notwithstanding, in clarks, the capacity for creativity can manifest as a two-edged sword, i.e. the clarklike ability to imagine anything/everything. (Which students of the Doctrine recognize as a benefit/cost rolled into one.)
The Wakefield Doctrine is a perspective on the world around us and the people who make it up. Fundamental to this view is the belief that it is one’s relationship (to the world) that defines what is commonly referred to a (one’s) personality type. Most other efforts to categorize-to-understand an individual’s personality is predicated on inherent qualities. One is ‘naturally’ aggressive or passive; ‘inherently’ inquisitive or subdued; aka ‘born that way’, ‘that’s just the way he is’ or ‘she is so much like her mother’.
The Wakefield Doctrine maintains that we, all of us, establish one of three characteristic relationships with the world at a very early, pre-language stage of life. All relationships involve a perception: I see you. I know what that is. For the purposed of using and enjoying the benefits of the our little personality theory, we must allow that ‘reality is perception’. Not necessary to get all meta or phyllo -sophical on the issue. Nothing weird or strange (ish).
Simply: all reality is, on a certain basis, personal.
Enough for now. Running out of time this morning.
All we are saying is that you, the Reader, have the perfect personality type.
…tune in tomorrow!
(lol) Out there in Readerland the thought-balloons are all:
- “That Doctrine thing is interesting and, somehow familiar… can’t wait ’til they give us the details (clarks/Outsiders)
- “Hell yeah! This blog isn’t as dry and boring and they want people to think… theys got a trick up their sleeves!!!” (scotts/Predators)
- “The comments are the best part. There are people from all over the globe it seems. We’ll give them some rope, see what they do with it. Can always connect with some of the more interesting other blogs.” (rogers/Herd Members)
